A bunch of my concept designs for our ‘Concept World’ class! It was our assignment from second year (studying Animation) and we had to create a fictional world of our own. My friends and I created a planet called “Orbis,” a once aquatic planet that flourished in its lush aquaculture, but was left a barren, dry planet in a catastrophic event that blasted the planet’s core away and evaporated all water from the world. These are a few of the regions that I created that reside on Orbis’ outer surface, Antem.
Seagrove is the calm lands of the planet, with vibrantly coloured aquaflora that litter the landscape and friendly aquaflora as its denizens.
The Overgrowth is the deep, mysterious jungle filled with deadly creatures, dark lurkers, with even the aquaflora itself posing as living threats.
The Drylands, a barren wasteland, occupy strange aquafauna. Little grows here due to the giant fissure that runs through the center of the region, crumbling the earth itself.
Fungyl, a region just north of the Drylands is a deadly, living environment. A poisonous cloud known as the Noxic Cloak hovers just above the overgrown roots of the aquaflora here. Adventurers who dare venture above the roots will find themselves in a fatal predicament.
The Iixen Desert comprises most of the Great Expanse – a large region where sandstorms are constantly rampant. The Desert is home to most of the outcasts of society, a refuge.
Aetervallis is a region just south of the Desert, a sacred valley where pilgrims often begin and end their sacred journeys to appease the gods.
Spiira is a forgotten wasteland, remnants to the planet’s former glory. No longer is there solid ground, but floating islands and chunks of land from what was once the lush, prosperous region.
This is just part of one of my many assignments throughout the semester! I made a little video about all of my projects, which you can check out here: https://youtu.be/RKNxzrY2RzU
