★ - COLOR PALETTE MEME ➥KEI + #1 for GRAY
the two methods of fic writing:
don’t think don’t breathe don’t question where the inspiration came from just wriTE LIKE THE WIND BEFORE IT LEAVES
meticulously plan the plot out until you actually have to write the story and then struggle and suffer
bonus method: no inspiration OR plot just an idea that you want to keep working on but you just stare at the screen blankly with tears running slowly down your face
This is like... me just... me.

a plea on behalf of authors with works in progress
I know people “hate” WIPs and “don’t usually read/comment on them” because “it’s so frustrating waiting for updates” and “what if it never gets finished?”, but let me just say something from the point of view of someone who has written several multi-chaptered fics over the years, including one that has sat unfinished since 2010:
It’s lonely. It’s a huge investment of time and energy into a project that you hope people will like, but most of them will never tell you until it’s finished. It’s easy to get frustrated. To feel like no one cares, or is paying attention. To feel like giving up, or shelving it for later.
Encouragement along the way is like rain on the desert for writers of WIPs. Knowing people are excited about your story, and eager to see what happens next. Your questions and your love can light a fire under a writer, keeping them going when they might otherwise feel like maybe it’s not worth it. Your feedback might even give them a new idea when they are feeling stuck.
So take a risk. What’s the worst that can happen? You get to read something you enjoy, even if it’s unfinished. Balance that against maybe being the reason something does get finished, after all.
This is true but I also try to completely finish a story before I start posting it, hence why I have several stories that are unfinished and might not see the light of day...
It's hard as a writer to keep finding inspiration when you're writing a longer story and I know the frustration of reading a story with either super super slow updates or it never updating and getting left.
But comments help so much, which is why I try to comment on stories that I really enjoy and I hope readers who don't write their own stories understand how much their comments can pick up an author in their time of difficulty finishing a story.
That's my opinion on it anyway :)
You Overthink Things
You Overthink Things is my first Haikyuu FanFiction!
Rated Mature, Kuroo x Tsukishima as the main pairing. Also appearances of Bokuto x Akaashi, Iwaizumi x Oikawa and Daichi x Suga.
Tsukishima Kei always assumed he would be a beta. The majority of his family were betas, add his height and his naturally smart-arse attitude and there was no omegan quality in him. Yet he was an omega. Just because biology decided he would be weaker than others did not mean that he accepted the fact. Patches and suppressants with his personality and appearance would make everyone assume he was a beta. It wasn't until he met a certain alpha that Tsukishima started to realise ignoring his secondary gender was much harder than he anticipated.
