lunch with the boss
⌠And as per usual, Teiru had been acting like a sore ass right upfront. Although that had been true, Ruko had still been astounded to see her boss all giddy with his hands. She couldnât help but wonder if they were going to see Lenka that day due to Teiruâs odd behavior. Ruko hadnât ever been able to understand or fully comprehend Teiruâs nature in wanting Lenka Kagamine ever so badly.Â
The two hadnât ever had a face to face conversation, and Ruko had been pretty sure by knowledgeable point that Lenka hadnât ever really seen her boss for who he had tended to be. Teiru pretended to be a bad ass, but it was quite apparent to Ruko by that point that such wasnât a real trait of Teiruâs.
Upon snapping out of her thoughts however, Ruko couldnât help but roll her eyes at him as she sat back in the seat of the car.
âDisgusting little brat.â
"I was just making sure that the plans hadnât changed," she said. Ignoring his disdain, Ruko looked out the window with a bored expression. âIf I had forgotten, would I be here right now?" She snapped.Â
Although the tone she had used towards the boy had been tense, the girl slowly softened."I donât mind coming along. From what you told me on the phone, Iâm interested in the mission." Laying her head on the back of the seat, she closed her eyes.Â
"You just never told me who the target was though, or what the significance of the luncheon has to do with the mission."Â On that note, she opened her eyes and raised her brows at him with honest judgement.
The sharpness of Ruko's reply brought a tight frown to Teiru's face as he watched her enter the vehicle. He wanted to reciprocate in some way but all he could think of was pushing her out of the car and commanding the driver to run her over. That was a good response by normal standards for him, but Ruko was needed for important purposes, killing her would only bring him problems. And there were too many witnesses around.
Shifting farther down the seat from her, Teiru listened apathetically to her rambling while thinking of how to answer her. The only reason he had set up the meeting to be at a luncheon was so that they could discuss her assignment without any disruptions. Upon second thought, explaining it to her in the car would be more efficient and private. It wouldn't take that long to tell her what was needed to be said and having to engage in more social interaction then what was needed to was pointless.
Shit.
He should've made her walk there.
He couldn't just tell her who the target was yet, they weren't even close to their destination. And having to ask her to wait until they arrived might spark a sudden need for small talk from his companion, which Teiru was awful at. The only option he had then was to beat around the subject until they got to the luncheon.
"... W-Well..." He cleared his throat before looking up at her uncomfortably. "... It's a person... Who you might be mildly familiar with..."Â
