Happy yall. I drew this for my brother because he wanted some art for his office. Just ink and swallows ideas. Hope your year is ending ok.
Brutal Improvement, a new print for the holidays! This piece was created to remind myself that I have come a long way but should be careful about making “progress.”
My whole shop has great deals right now. Imagine the savings. And this print is available in mustard and electric blue. Wow. So if you like it check out the link below.

Here is a real fast quick and easy drawing that I barely even tried on. Raw and cleaned up versions of a hand I drew for my hockey team's shirt that I like. When/if the shirts are printed Ill show how they turned out. Also Im hustling on a new print this week so if you need an art gift Ill provide.
It has been a while because I have mostly been posting on instagram lately. How are you?
This is a drawing I did of Thundercat. Thundercat is an amazing bassist and songwriter. If you’ve followed here for a while you may know that I play bass and it is important to me. And the reason I love Thundercat is pretty bass specific.
I am pretty annoyingly choosey about bass. Sometimes a good song will play with an OK-to-bad bass part and it will ruin the song for me. That is because over the course of playing the instrument for more than a decade I unwittingly built “bass expert” into my identity. If you’ve ever been around people before you might know that “bass expert” is approximately the least appealing type of thing a person can be. (actually, upon reflection, with all of the horrible sexist racist fascists I see online all the time, I would like to retract that last bit. “Bass expert” is comparatively pretty cool. But rhetorically, thinking of yourself as a “bass expert” is as charismatic as filling your tucked in shirt with liters of peanut butter and calling yourself “the smoush guy.”)
Anyway. When I first heard Thundercat’s solo music I balked a little bit. I didn’t understand how it fit into my bass dogma. It is wacky, intricate, humorous, dark, joyous, complex, and sensitive without being sexual. It wasn’t Bootsy and I didn’t get it.
But part of what makes it great is that it is constructed to be very inviting. At least on an instrumental level it wants you to come along and live in an experience. Its George Duke and Stanley Clarke in it’s commitment to beauty and sincerity. But it took me a second because the songs are totally unique—built differently than anything you’ve heard. It reminded me that there is a bunch of stuff I do not know about that is, actually and without my blessing, extremely groovy. So I should stay open to that stuff as I get older.
Hope that makes sense because it seems almost certainly silly to write about. Oh also prints here -Â https://society6.com/maxtemescu. Buy prints.
New one for Field & Stream. Based on a reader’s story about how one time this pack of dogs ruined a hunt with their shouts.
New one for Backpacker about reintroducing grizzlies to the North Cascades. Woop woop.
Hey hey! Look at this drawing. Pretty good huh?
This one was for Field & Stream a little bit ago. About going with the flow eventually. I was asked for a kayak fishing guy and I provided.
Also I’ve been posting more over on https://www.instagram.com/maxtemescu/ so hop to it if you dig it.
Whoa hey there team. I totally have been forgetting to post here because I got a shiny new instagram where I also forget to post. It is this instagram https://www.instagram.com/maxtemescu/. Follow me there you brave scamps!
This is the sort of thing that I have ben putting up there along with process stuff. This is an illustration I did for a column in Men’s Health about overcoming your fear you wimp! Vroom vroom, right?
Another one for Field & Stream. Based on a reader’s story about getting dekayaked by some goose toughs. I was nearly certain we wouldn’t go with sketch 3 but you know. Thanks to AD James Walsh.
Holding onto something that is already gone.
Something along the lines of, you use the weapons you’re given.
Sketchbook and computer.
Susan scromps down a can of bimple juice. She’s a salad wrangler in New Evanston working a double so she’s gonna need it. That food isn’t gonna slather itself in gampbsauce and escort itself back to local eateries. That’s her job. She a salad wrangler so that is her job. She escorts the food. If you have any questions please just let me know. About Susan or whatever. I hope you have a really nice night.
Hey party people! Here is a spot about weird ways to catch fish for Field & Stream. Now go have a Friday good time you bingbong.
Srry but are you romanian cuz your last name sure sounds like it's romanian
Don’t be srry. My last name is Romanian because my paternal grandfather was from somewhere near Bucharest. I never spent much time with him though, so I know very little about Romania. Thank you for the question.
New one for Field & Stream about a mounted deer head competition.
Also I don’t have much to add to the conversation isn’t being said already by people better than me. But if you’re USA our country is intent on doing more bad things to people than it has been doing recently. For real do what you can to get in the way of that. Off chance you think things are fine right now, try to figure out why so many nice people are upset.
Messy unphotoshopped drawings from my sketchbook while I was out of town. If you look close under the dogiraffe you can see the outline for the next comic script I’m writing, which I’m sure will inspire much speculation about its release on the forums.
