Punch Punch Forever and Ollie and Scoops are my favorite Indie shows!! and nobody talks about these. It’s all just glitch and spindle horse that people talk about, that’s the only thing people think that Indie animation is because that’s all that’s talked about. A lot of people think it’s a recent phenomenon when Indie animation has been around for a long, long time. I will make a bigger post about this soon and a timeline of all indie animation but I just want to give these shows some credit…. They’re so good!

Actually, for fucks sake, Ollie and Scoops doesn’t even have 1 million views.
It was made S.E.V.E.N Y.E.A.R.S A.G.O
Yup, seven years ago. And it’s so good. It’s very well animated, it’s funny, it’s not crude, it’s very lighthearted and silly, and it’s episodic. The opposite of a lot of of the problems that people complain that indie animation has these days.
But have you guys even heard of these shows? It’s all the amazing digital circus and helluva boss and Hazbin Hotel. And no hate to these shows but I’m gonna tell you something that a lot of people might get mad at me for.
I think Spindlehorse and Glitch Productions get too much credit for modern indie animation.

And because of this all the hundreds of other pilots and series are pushed under the rug. “indie animation has bad dialogue” “it’s dominated by white people” “all of the creators are problematic™” “too much cursing” “all of them story driven and not episodic”
Literally, none of these are true
Except for the white dominated part, that’s kind of everything :(
But seriously, there is so so much more beyond glitch and spindlehorse. You guys just don’t see it because you guys aren’t looking for it. And you guys aren’t looking for it because you guys think that everything else won’t be as high-quality. And first of all, that’s not true, second, yeah, no shit, they’re underfunded because of these assumptions you have.
There is so much out there that you just haven’t seen. And I feel that they should be because they are just as much indie as these other things and they’re just as good. Maybe the quality isn’t as high because they might be being made by one person. Not everyone has a whole team like a glitch and spindlehorse
I did not intend for this post to be so long, I just wanted to name a couple of my favorites, but goddamn. I will be making an Indie animation timeline soon and I’ll try to include all the links as well if I can even figure out how to make it in the first place (I will because this is something that I really wanna do)
