TEMNO: The Boy Who Didn’t Live
He ran through the door. The school day had finally concluded and he was fed up. Monday, only Monday. He hated this. School would end soon for summer vacation, that’s what kept him going. He knew after those two months would end he would have to return again, but at least he would have 2 full months of freedom. Soon enough he would be able to fall asleep at a desirable time for 2 months, he would be able to do what he wanted for 2 months. He would be able to be happy for 2 months.
He pulled his bedroom door open, and threw his bag into the floor, next to his shelf. He closed his eyes, then dived onto his bed. He was so tired, but sadly he had homework. He pulled himself from the impossible perfection of the comfort he felt in his bed to relocate to his desk.
He pulled the chair out from under the desk and sat. Homework was piling up, surely it would take hours. So he spent hours; happy he at least had music to fill the silence. Not until late was he done. He had procrastinated all week to do it, and that had come back to bite him. He pulled himself away from his desk and walked to the bathroom. He showered and brushed his teeth, then walked into his room and pulled out his phone to scroll through numerous clips, until finally he got tired and pulled up a show to watch.
He fell asleep whilst watching it, waking up his alarm going off. He looked at his television to see that the show he had been watching was paused due to inactivity. He turned off the alarm and stared wearily at the roof. After a few minutes which felt like multiple different eternities passing, he rose from his bed and into a stand. He puts a hand to his head, he’s so tired of this. Waking up every day, going to school, barely having enough time to have a life outside of school. He’s so tired, but he still does it. He brushes his teeth, changes his clothes, eats breakfast, and walks out the door. He walks through the street, his house is located exactly a mile away from the school, so his parents have him walk instead of catching the bus. As per usual, his parents both had already left before he woke up in the morning.
He felt an intense feeling of hate. He hated his life. Who cared if he had friends? Most people hated him. Who cared if it would be over soon, it would just start right back up. He was so…
He didn’t even hear it. He was crossing the road. It struck him, breaking his body. He felt so much pain, but only for around a second, until it was gone. He didn’t feel pain. He didn’t feel anything. For what felt like a millennium there was nothing. But, then, there was something. He saw the sky, and he turned his head slightly. He saw a forest, he was in a field.
