Got to ride this chunk for the first time in over a month!!! He must be feeling better because he was being a butt, throwing in lead changes whenever and ignoring half halts.
He nearly threw me today but somehow I stuck on. We were practicing stride counting and when we came put of a corner he didn’t want to turn. I lost my stirrup, grabbed some mane, and we went over a jump I wasnt planning on taking. BUT I STAYED ON!
I have a new main blog for my horse riding. Come follow me over @grab-mane
All of you are excited about Halloween but I know what scary thing is actually approaching: no stirrups November.
nice
This is so hilarious 😂😂 Did you stay on?
Photo quality sucks but look at me and Diesel go!
Uh so I just realized this was the first time I ever jumped this horse...
On a cross country feild full of galloping horses....
Anyway I get to ride again Saturday so that's the only thing getting me through the week.
Boy perfect himself told me good luck before the hunter pace ❤
I'm sooo good at taking pictures yall
Photo quality sucks but look at me and Diesel go!
Today I’m taking the War Horse on my first hunter pace!!! Wish me luck!
That was the most fun I’ve ever had! We did the Chatt Hills hunter pace and while we didnt ride particularly competitively it was amazing! I even went over a few cross country jumps. Diesel was perfect. He only spooked once and we recovered very quickly. I dont even think I blinked at his spook. 😂 At one point I even caught a run away horse! A little pony dropped his rider and went galloping across the cross country feild but when he galloped through out group he stopped long enough for me to hop off and grab him. In all it was an amazing day. Hopefully I’ll have pictures coming later!!!
Oh and did I mention??? Elisa Wallace was there with Dorado! They went out well ahead of us but they looked so good! It was so cool to see them in person as I follow their journey on YouTube.

I just learned that me and my main man Pharaph turn 18 within like 3 weeks of each other. I thought he was 18 already but apparently he turns 18 this year? Weird horse stuff BUT ANYWAY I LOVE MY BOY.
Hand grazing Pharaoh the night before he hurt himself
When I was walking out to Pharaoh in the pasture, before I knew he was hurt, I was calling for him and he knickered at me a bounced his little head. I guess he was happy to see someone who could help him or maybe he thought I could get him inside for his breakfast. Either way, I love him so much and I want him to feel better.
First Show, the fun part
So I'm riding Phin now. Its not a huge deal, I've ridden him once before, except I've never jumped him, he ducks out on jumps if he isnt super straight to them, and I've never jumped a horse who tries to duck out. Cue me questioning my ability to safely ride him through the course. First is the flat class, and I'm given a secound or two to warm myself up in a trot because of the horse switch fiasco. We do all of the movements for walk and trot and I'm feeling okay about everything but now its time for canter work. We line up and canter one at a time, when it's my turn for right lead I think we did amazing considering all circumstances. Left lead didnt go so well. We took off and I didnt properly ask for the left lead so he strikes off on the wrong lead, my fear is confirmed when someone on the sideline whispers to me as I ride by. I know that Phin bucks when you ask for a lead change and I wasn't going to throw out the movement by doing a simple change so I just kinda left it as is. Prize giving came and I got third place out of four girls. When my ribbon is being brought to me I hear my trainer say quickly "He's scared of ribbons!! Don't let him see it!!" So that was a great few moments of trying to get a picture and trying not to scare Phin to death.
Next were the cross rail classes! (Each lead is considered a separate class) I'm worried about falling if he ducks out but I'm not going to not do it. I planed on trotting the whole course because I was told I could, but after the first jump he lands in the canter so I just went with trot in, canter out. The round went smoothly, he went over every jump and we didnt have any glaring problems but I felt my equitation was bad! At the gate my trainer and a few of the kids watching said it was really good which confused me.
Next lead didnt go that great. Over the third jump he landed crooked and we only had five strides to straighten him and get him over the next jump. I fought so hard to get him straight and somehow we went over the jump! I knew that round didnt go as good as the other but I had survived and I could finally dismount!
Now came time for the final prize giving. First was our left lead class. She starts by naming fourth, it's not me, she calls third, and it's not me. I'm thinking wow! I was so excited because that must mean I got secound right? Nope! I had won a first place ribbon!! I was ecstatic. My friends cheered, I nearly teared up, it was awesome. I was given third in the class I struggled in and then she named me reserve champion. I was taken away!!!
First Show, Part 1
I got to the barn at 7:45 this morning to help with last-minute preparations and to bring Pharaoh in to get him ready. When a group of us went to the pasture to get the horses, Pharaoh was in the very back. Because he is normally the first at the gate I was a little worried but I honestly just thought he was too busy eating or something. So I started walking to him in the very back of the pasture and he doesn't take a single step to me even though I’m calling him. He even knickered at me and seemed really happy to see someone! So being the clueless person I am, when I get to him I just throw his halter on and start to walk off. He threw his head up and refused to put weight on his front right foot. That's when I saw his shoe. He had rotated his shoe 90* and pulled it nearly off. I started to panic, took his halter off and walked quickly to get my trainer. When I got close enough I yelled for her and she told me to hold him still while she drove out with her emergency kit thing to try and help. Pharaoh was very happy to see me walking back to him. We got to him and pulled the shoe the rest of the way off while my trainer called the vet. The clip on his shoe had pierced his hoof and it had clearly been bleeding. We placed a large amount of padding on his hoof and brought him inside slowly. It was really rough to watch. After getting him in and doctoring his foot as best we could he got some really great breakfast and we waited for the vet to arrive while we got everyone else ready for the show. The vet arrived during the show and he was much better when I left and was actually willing to put weight on the foot. He is receiving treatment but I wasn’t informed about how long his recovery will be.
Pharaoh twisted a shoe and wont br able to be ridden. I'm riding Phin now, a horse I've only ridden once.
