15 years ago my friend and I picked two puppies from the same litter. I was 25 and had no idea how many chapters of life this little corgi would walk through with me.
He was there through moves, career changes, heartbreaks, new beginnings, and countless epic adventures. Somehow we went from that moment to me turning 40 this year.
It feels impossible that so much of my adult life has had him right beside me. He was also Sean’s first dog.
Thank you for every walk, every road trip, every quiet night, and every time you made life better just by being there. Most importantly, thank you for putting up with all my photoshoot ideas. I have so many photos of you that I don’t even know how to share them all.
As some of you may know, a couple of weeks ago Templeton was stung by a wasp. After a few days of medication, I noticed some other strange symptoms and brought him back to the vet. That’s when we discovered he had stage 4 kidney disease. The vet believes the stress from the wasp sting likely accelerated the underlying kidney issues that we didn’t know were there.
We decided to bury him in our front yard and planted a tree where he rests.
I had originally planned to say goodbye today, but over the course of the last 24 hours he declined quickly. He couldn’t stand, couldn’t eat, and was starting to have trouble breathing. I didn’t want him to suffer.
I’ll miss you, my sweet boy, my garden corgi, my Templeton.
