"That...and I thought it would be good for me. You're so carefree, after all. How do you stay that way all while being someone of importance? Truthfully, it's difficult for me."

"My clan and I share the same goals, and in order to reach them, we need to be able to communicate. And that wouldn't work out if I was scary and imposing, yeah?" Came a casual shrug, "We're not here to exchange leadership styles, though, are we?"

"Yeah. The only way I saw myself doing this was for political reasons. Marriage too, when I really think about it. It almost feels freeing to have been able to say no--not that I wanted to say no." With that, she starts walking ahead of him, but still close enough so that he'd be able to hear her say, "I'm only here in part because I wanted to see Vaporeon again, anyway."

He's not going to press his luck, especially considering how far out of her comfort zone she seems. So, for now, he trails behind her.

"Kind of an elaborate way to just see Vaporeon, don't you think?" He's poking a little fun at her, "But, if that's how you want to go about it. Who am I to judge?"

The presence of his Pokemon makes this a little easier on her and she doesn't feel quite as embarrassed as she did before arriving, thank goodness. "How else? Reading." she shrugs, "Poorly written books probably incredibly out of date and by people who haven't actually been on a date themselves...needless to say, I didn't learn anything. Nothing of value, anyway."

"I think I've decided my best bet is to just go with the flow, as you said. Even if I'm not really sure what that means. And this is the first time I've ever been out with anyone officially. Well, aside from one person but...that was more of just an outing."

"That means they're a good basis for what not to do then, right?" That was how Adaman was choosing to spin it.

"Hey, no shame about that! We're both pretty important where we're from, right? Where's the time for something like that?"

"I'm sorry for yesterday, I know what I said about being prepared for the unexpected, and yet I...wasn't." But understandably so! It's not every day you get asked on a date out of the blue. Still, the fact that she's called him out here so soon should be more than enough apology. The ocean waves against the setting sun are a nice sight.

"But I am now." Barely, but she's here so that counts for something. "So, this is...it's really--a date, right?"

"I mean it's not everyday that happens, right?" His rhetorical question is followed by an easy going smile. And it's not like they were alone anyway, his pokemon were insistent on coming along too...Couldn't get anything done, it seemed.

"Sure is. But, I'm dying to know how you even prepare for a date." As far as he'd concerned himself, all he brought was himself, so maybe Kokomi was playing 4d chess over here.

"If you want to tell me that is."

"Well...nothing! You're entirely right. It shouldn't be. And it isn't." She's quiet for a long moment after, but when she finally speaks up it's a squeak.

"...So fine! I accept! I'll...prepare." How do you even prepare for dates!?

"Prepare?! It's not war?" ...At least he didn't think it was.

"I meant the casually asking me on a date part...you were implying that, weren't you? Or did I somehow misunderstand?"
