Oscbull this oscbull thatā¦.. i get it. but we have to address the elephant in the room called Nikola Tsolov who, if oscbull happens, will be Oscarās teammate and Red Bull management WILL prioritize their talented junior academy driver Nikola Tsolov over talented non red bull academy driver Oscar Piastri, creating the perfect situation for Oscar to get Mark Webberād in the exact same wayā¦ā¦ do we want that?
guys im at a festival and if i go on any app on my phone i see photos of oscar and my beautiful perfect boy looks soooooo good and all I want is to stare at the photos and reblog them and I love him so much and i love spa so much and i would love for spa to love oscar as much as he does and i know it sounds like im drunk but im not because i take antibiotics and i cant drink but i really want a cuba libre or a malibu ššššššš
the situation got so out of hand they even got the old man denying the rumors instead of saying some bullshit like oscar should brush up his german. peace and love on planet earth i guess
have you seen the new planetf1 article about oscar written by thoms maher? i wouldn't say that what he wrote necessary contains new informations but idk... how trustworthy do you think it is?
The rumours refuse to disappear - and the latest information suggests there may be good reason why.
Nah I donāt think itās untrustworthy exactly, I think itās very deliberately coming from Maxās camp lol
Like exit clause activating after Hungary is real, and the Monaghan/Lambiase departures are real but āMax to McLaren is imminent, Oscarās outā reads like Maxās camp using the press to spook Red Bullās shareholders
look at how McLaren handled Daniel in 2022 for comparison. when they actually wanted him gone they didnāt spend months denying it, they were publicly courting Alex Palou, Zak was openly saying at Monaco that Daniel hadnāt met expectations and throwing around the āmechanismsā line for ending his contract early. they WANTED the chaos because it helped clear the seat. Right now itās the total oppositeāevery single denial from McLaren has been immediate and pretty emphatic. theyāre straight up calling it hot air
The driver situation inside Woking doesnāt line up either cause last year McLaren dropped Ugo, Stenshorne, Badoer, and Dunne walked because they couldnāt guarantee him funding or a path to F1. Fornaroliās only reserve because Dunne left, and even heās got basically no route to a seat with Lando and Oscar locked down long term. They seem pretty committed to their current line up.
Then thereās the $$$ angle. Carlos claimed Maxās contract exempts him from normal sponsor activations, which doesnāt really fit McLarenās entire business model of drivers doing partner work like itās a second job. Max literally joked last year McLaren couldnāt afford his asking price ($65m) and if we take a look at estimates for 2026 grid salariesā¦
Max Verstappen: $76m ($65m salary + $11m bonuses)
Lewis Hamilton: $70.5m ($70m + $0.5m bonuses)
Lando Norris: $57.5m ($18m salary + $39.5m bonuses)
Oscar Piastri: $37.5m ($10m salary + $27.5m bonuses)
Max earns more than Lewis while doing about a tenth of the marketing. I could buy two Oscar Piastris for the price of one Max Verstappen lmao
and if Max signed for McLaren heād probably expected to participate in their endurance programme too. His current Red Bull deal lets him do whatever he wants outside F1, including driving for a literal competitor like Mercedes-AMG (even if Fordās silently seething about it). I genuinely cannot see Max agreeing to fly to San Francisco days before the season finale to do an uncomfortable, dead-eyed stage presentation for enterprise B2B software just because Zak signed a new corporate sponsor
Also Max actually likes drinking Red Bull
