Dear future me,

I hope that when you read this - you are in love with the someone whom you’ve been waiting so long for.

Tonight, you saw something called being in love. You saw two people who love each other regardless of what happens, no matter the distance. You saw two people who made you wish for love.

I only hope that you’ve stayed optimistic on the outlook of love for yourself, and that that love has finally searched you out. I hope the boy who took your heart is worthy of it, and reminds you that you are wonderful. I hope he has a background that does not require you to give up your love and obligation so intensely, and even if he does - I hope he does not look at you as his savior. I hope that when you smile, he smiles too because of how contagious your happiness is. I hope you get butterflies when you see him and I hope that he does too, each time you get to see him. I hope you started off as friends and worked your way towards all you are now - only because you know that that’s the best scenario. No matter what you think, remember to start as friends - always.

Patience is a virtue and I only hope he was worth the wait.

He will show you why everything else never worked out, and he will bring you a greater happiness than you could ever imagine. Don’t give up.
