From a white person currently residing in a white, racist state, its really important to remember antiracism in ideology doesn't exempt you from being racist. Especially as someone in the trans/queer community. It means you must hold yourself to a standard society won't for you. It means not only accepting criticism, and observations of racism, gracefully, but also internalizing it and ripping out the roots that caused your racist or self centered statement. Its also calling out and correcting your friends when they make a self centered assumption. All the pressure lands on POC to be who educates white people, including educating us "antiracists!" When we should be calling it out before they ever have to!!!
