because when katniss asks peeta to stay with her because she can’t handle the nightmares without him, peeta makes a promise to be there for her always.

so when katniss attempts to end her life because she thinks she’s lost everything, peeta stops her. because even though katniss wants peeta to let her go, to no longer stay with her, he still keeps the promise of always.
