Being a crafty person and making a bunch of things often prompts people to ask "oh wow did you make that?" And like, the short answer is: yes I did, but the long answer is: well, no, the pattern isn't mine, but I did choose and buy the fabric/yarn and sewed it together/crocheted it/knitted it myself. I used a reference for that drawing/painting, I didn't come up with it myself. That ceramic piece was insired by a poem and a painting made by different people. What I'm trying to say is, everything I make requires other people to make their own thing first, and then I get inspired by them to do my own thing. So I can't really call anything truly mine, because really it's just a bunch of inspirations and experiences of others (and me) put together by my hands. Does that answer your question

This yarn came from sheep raised in New Zealand and was spun by a woman in Peru. The pattern was created by someone in Germany. My needles were made by a craftsman in China and my stitchmarkers came from the lady at the local fiber festival.

I may have knit this sweater but it contains the souls of people from around the world.

Bits of my smile came from a memory of my aunt and bits of my lips came from the corn I ate last summer. Part of my cadence comes from an old dead friend and some of my lexicon comes from my son’s videos. Parts of my muscles and skin walked around as chicken and cows not so long ago. Parts of my cell membranes were exhaled by trees and parts of my blood were filtered by oysters. We are make of the pieces of the world and of the past that we find laying around and that are gifted to us and that we make part of us. There is no other way to be alive.

I simply dont have much interest in measuring which dr who writerman is the most misogynistic. The problem has a solution and it’s not saying Steven Moffat dr who was Woke Actually it’s putting a woman at the helm of this show.

We can argue till the cows come home about which of these middle aged men portrays women the Least Bad but ultimately we’ve had less than a dozen women in the writers room Total. Ever

technically across classic and modern who we have had 16 total women in the writers room, however:

12 of them have written two or fewer episodes

all but one of them have written two or fewer stories, with the only exception being jane baker, who exclusively cowrote with her husband pip baker and was always billed second (as pip and jane baker)

only 11 of them have written an episode without a male cowriter (2 of those wrote one episode together)

of the 5 women who have exclusively written with a male cowriter, 2 were billed first and 3 were billed second.

literally all three non-white women (actually they were all Black i believe) to write for the series only wrote one episode that was co-written by the white male showrunner (only one of them was billed first)

only 37 out of 892 episodes of doctor who have been written with a woman billed as a writer at all. that's 4%.
