// STOP PLAGUING PEOPLE WITH MEMES (AND GROUNDING THEM FOR THAT MATTER)
DON’T YOU TALK BACK TO ME.
GROUNDED.
SHRIEKS INTO THE VOID

“You know for someone who doesn’t seem particularly thrilled with my presence or state of being, you sure like to visit me a lot.”
“That’s easy to answer. You’re the only interesting thing on this rock.
Also, you know how to work these little boxes.”
He holds up a phone for emphasis.
Seeing people afraid of me gives me a strange kind of satisfaction.
"So why exactly /do/ you have a thing against gods?"
That question lay at the very heart of his being.
Why rage against the gods like so?
“…Because they betrayed me.”
That was all he had to say on the matter.

Attitude.
If there was one thing that set him off like a pack of dynamite, it was attitude.
Speaking of dynamite, the sigils came back in full force, their unearthly glow shining brighter (darker?) than before, until he finally held them out at the vexing woman.
The following blast could be heard for a solid few miles, at least.
She noted his attack as he moved and sighed, curling her phone to her chest to shield it as the blast took place. As it hit, her body rolled across the ground. It lay there, unmoving for a moment; the side that had been hit was torn open, blood spattered across her clothes, her neck bent awkwardly.
After a minute, she sat up and cracked everything back into place. She stood and continued swiping across the screen of her untouched phone, her side mending quickly.
“–You done throwing a fit yet?”
A growl left his lips, followed by a huff. Abaddon crossed his arms as he slowly approached her.
“A physical manifestation of an abstract concept, hm? Killing you would probably require me to wipe out all life in this universe.
Fortunately for you, I’ve already crossed that off the bucket list. So I suppose I can let you off the hook.”
He leans down to get a better look at the screen the concept held in her hands. His voice held no small amount of disdain.
“What are you doing?”

The LONE human sat on a stool just their height, waiting for a meal served quite literally by the fire. They tried not to look around too much, or draw any attention towards them. But every creature in this room was such a sight to behold, so unique. And they felt like a sore thumb sticking right out.
He expected someone to call out how he was so much different than the others around him. Expected someone to shout ‘demon!’ or ‘devil!’ or some such nonsense.
But no such exclamations came.
The man with the red skin slowly made his way over to the bar, noting with some interest that a human child sat in front of said bar. It seemed they were the one out of place, not he.
A smirk crossed his lips.
That’s a first.
Sitting down next to the human, Abaddon called to the bartender - a fire elemental, it seemed, and ordered something off the menu.
“Someone seems out of place.”
He kept his voice low, glancing down at the child.

Gently pets the Ophi.
Petting the Ophi is fine.
She accepts the petting.
Continues to pet.
This is a good Ophi.
tenebra-et-animae:
Probably not.
The sigils that were forming in his hand fade into nothing, and the demon lets out a slow breath. The shadows clinging to him are less oppressive now. One could almost see his outline.
“Somehow I doubt you’re more than anything, but I’ll drop the issue.”
“Fine by me.”
She didn’t care. She went back to scrolling through AshleyMadison on her phone. Humans in this realm made her job so unbelievably easy.
She didn’t care if this … demon thing, whatever it was, had a chip on his shoulder regarding divinity. She hadn’t done anything to hurt him. Why pick a fight? He sounded more like a fourteen year old boy struggling through puberty-induced rage more than anything.
Jeez.
Attitude.

“I need a question answered;
Are you a goddess?”
If he were a snake, he’d be spitting venom.
What was with this shitty attitude? The waves of hatred coming off of him were annoying.
She didn’t move from where she had been perched, but did look at him more directly this time.
“No. I’m the personification of heartbreak.” She twirled one finger in the air. “So technically more than a goddess. Or anything, really. Is that a problem?”
“...Hm.”
That definitely gave him pause. Though not much, considering the seething rage is still felt.
Abaddon knew he could still fight this woman, or whatever she was, and more likely than not come out on top (or so his ego told him). But the question is, is she worth the effort?
He considers, in his mind, what the function of a god is.
They serve as immortal reminders of virtues or sins, depending on the divine being and their ‘portfolio,’ as it were.
The rage abated, if slightly. Is she divine? Probably. Could he win? Definitely.
Is she worth the time and effort?
Probably not.

So yeah Humble Bundle right now is hosting a Game Maker bundle and uh.
Wow. Yeah that looks like a deal to me. Frick. Any aspiring devs probably wanna look into this. Software that’s hundreds of dollars going on sale for 15 USD, no big deal.
https://www.humblebundle.com/gamemaker-bundle
Hell I might grab this. It’s always worth looking into details and fine print and whatnot but I haven’t seen anything to say this isn’t the deal it looks like.
@pinkuboa
And of course if you’re wondering what games used this as an engine YoYo has a showcase: https://www.yoyogames.com/showcase Notable examples include Hyper Light Drifter, Spelunky, Undertale, Nidhogg, Hotline Miami, Downwell, Savant: Ascent, Risk of Rain, the list goes on and on and far as I can tell this really has been a good engine for indie devs as of late, lots of good stuff coming out of it.
Huh.
what the fuck I had no idea Undertale and ror were made in gm
As someone who’s toyed around with Game Maker going all the way back to 2003, get this. No joke, it’s perfect for almost everyone. If you’re new to game development, Game Maker is a great way to learn the basics of physics, level design, content management and game logic. If you’re already used to making your own games, Game Maker handles the tedious parts while giving you a great amount of freedom to do what you want with it’s built-in C-style language.
As evidenced by Spelunky and Undertale, Game Maker has gotten a lot more sophisticated since 5.3a while keeping the UI and the core functionality largely the same. $15 back then bought you basic 3D capability. $15 now could buy you a way to make your own iOS and Android games.
If you’ve ever considered Game Maker before, now’s the time to do it for cheap. Trust me, it’s worth it.
How long is the sale going on?
Any advice on necks? they are my nemesis ;;
Im not gonna go into detail w the muscles but if you wanna learn the specifics here are some good diagrams! 1,2 Hope that helps a little! Look up rl refs too!

She can sense a fellow dark presence nearby, but isn’t entirely interested. She’d rather be napping.
…Well, maybe a little interested.
She peeked one eye open.
“–Yes? Do you need directions or something?”
He had sensed her presence as well, but he wasn’t so much interested as he was aggravated.
Abaddon could almost smell the divinity coming off of her. If he had any blood, it’d be boiling right now.
But he had been wrong before, so he might as well get it out of the way.
“I need a question answered;
Are you a goddess?”
If he were a snake, he’d be spitting venom.
In this world, her hair flows to the middle of her shoulder blades. In this world, it still remains the color of starlight. In this world, she conveys her messages not with bullets, but with B L A D E S. In this world, she dances with danger and fences with adventure. In this world, she crafts finer tools and implements for war and battle. In this world, there are demons and fear. How else should a person live when they never know when darkness may devour their core…? ❝ …. ❞ A dark presence sent a loud chill down her spine. Skin now embossed with goosebumps and senses heightened appropriately as they could be. The wind that whistled from the door of her shoppe was almost uneasy. Still, she set down the ‘ project ‘ she had been working on and turned to face whomever or whatever had come. ❝ How may I service you ..? ❞ Zada spoke in a gentle tone, eyes scanned over the dark, shadowy figure. She is trying to find words to properly describe it, words that may ease her mind as the dark aura this … thing carried was almost ready to cut her senses much like a guillotine ending its next victim’s life. It was best to keep to her roots, show minimal emotion, and only find a solution to whatever problem or request he may bring as swiftly, silently, and efficiently as possible. @tenebra-et-animae
The figure that strode through that door could almost be considered human; white and brown clothes with a scarf wrapped around their head, hiding most of their visage, and a cloak surrounding their body. Almost like they’d been through a desert, the way they were dressed.
What little of their face could be seen gave the impression of olive skin, blond hair, and piercing golden eyes. One could even surmise that this person, perhaps a man, by their build, was handsome.
Until one considered the fact that, while nothing had changed, the surroundings felt significantly darker, almost oppressively so.They made their way to the counter, that dark aura following them like fire clinging to cinders.
His - most likely, from how masculine their build is, and their voice - addresses Zada in a neutral tone, as he produces a longsword from a sheathe under the cloak.
“I need this sharpened. Cleaned too, if you can.”
The blade itself was made of simple steel, but it had seen much use; much of it was nicked and scuffed everywhere, it’s edge worn down to almost bluntness. Under some scrutiny, dried blood could be found along one of the edges, that the figure himself reaches down to wipe off.
Considering the wetness of the blood, the blade most likely saw recent use.
