HOW TO: Rescue a shattered powder compact! We've all been there - you've dropped/stood on/crushed one of your powders & now it's in smithereens... All is not lost! This happened to me today to my lovely NARS blush in Orgasm! Wayyy too good to give up on! So let me share with you some wisdom imparted to me by our good friend the Internet. 1. Get a cotton bud & break down the shards of the powder into powder. You want it crushed into dust without chunks. 2. Get some RUBBING ALCOHOL (I got mine from Terry White Chemist) & put a couple of squirts into the powder so you make a paste. 3. Get a knife & butter the paste so it's as flat & smooth as you can get it - remember you've smashed it into pieces so you're never going to get it back EXACTLY the same but try & make it as smooth as possible. 4. Leave it open to dry. You're done!!! It will dry back into the set powdery form & you're good to go again! Sure it looks a little different, but it's function as a blush/pressed powder/bronzer or whatever it was you obliterated, it will be once more! T xxx
Beauty LOATHES!
Yes, this may be a bit of a negative post but I thought i’d shed some light on the make up & beauty looks I can’t stand. There’s a few!
You know when you’re talking to Someone & they’ve just got something so wrong that in your head, you’re not listening, you’re actually imaging yourself waxing their eyebrows, etc? Happens a lot. I’m sure people have done it to me before but until they’re blogging about it… IT’S MY TURN NOW.
SPERM BROWS This is Just. Awful. This is when the inner part of the eyebrow is overly curved, not squared, so they look like they have 2 x sperm swimming towards each other on their face. Not cool. Eyebrows should be elongated, sharp, & squared off in the centre. They should also nearly all be the same width along - I know they’re meant to taper off a bit thinner towards the end but that half thick - then all of a sudden thin on the end thing IS DISGUSTING. Stuck? Grow them out, then go to Matt Yuko in Claremont. GOOGLE HIM.9
Yeah, think I’m grumpy today.
NOT WEARING MASCARA This is never ok. If nothing else, wear mascara. Eyeshadow without mascara is like wearing a headband & being bald. If you’re not wearing make up at all, cos you’re like, gardening or in hospital or something, then cool, I wouldn’t wear mascara either. But to wear eyeshadow, but not mascara. Why? Why? Why did you do that? I was once talking to a girl who was getting married & she said to me that she “didn’t think she’d wear mascara on her wedding day because it’d run when she cried” when I got up off of the floor, I gently tried to persuade her otherwise (whilst in my head I was screaming). Eyes are the nipples of the face, pay attention to them, ya hear!
MULTI COLOURED HAIR Striped Streaks are so 2001. Move on. Balayage is cool - I’m not talking about that. I mean when people think ohhhhh I want my fringe BLONDE & the rest of my hair brown! Woo! No. Don’t. Get flattering, blended colour through your hair, yes, YES!
JUST FOUNDATION Put some colour on your face. I have seen some girls that just go nuts with foundation, yes, awesome, cool, but finish it off! Blush, lip colour, so needed. Foundation lips don’t do favors for anybody.
COLOURED LIPS & AN UNDONE FACE If you’re going to put colour (especially red) on your lips… You need porcelain skin. & I mean porcelain. Having red on your lips & then having uncovered, blemished skin draws everyone’s eyes to the blemishes (the eyes will be drawn to red lips - red spots/skin tone). The very best way to work a red lip is to have the rest of your face flawless.
I think that’s enough raving for now. As I said, I’m sure not perfect! I had streaked hair up there with the best of them. This is just my personal opinion on what makes me develop a nervous twitch these days.

HOTTEST/NEWEST/LATEST!
Hey hey!
I haven’t blogged in a little while cos’ I’ve been super busy! Luckily, this has also involved some product purchasing. I’ve done an unreasonable amount of shopping lately - so thought is share some of my recent purchases that have made me WOW.
Indeed Hydralron Cream - this is this magical little serum that goes on after toning, but before your moisturizer. WOW WOW. It’s so hydrating!!! I think it makes my make up stay on better because my skin is so happily hydrated (I know, cos’ it told me). This serum is from the same people that made Nanoblur cream. Yes, Nanoblur. If there’s a better word in the English dictionary, I sure don’t know it. Available from Priceline!!!
Venus & Olay Razor - This is so cool. It has a layer of Olay… Stuff? Each side of the FIVE (5) blades & maaa-haaa-aaaan does this thing give a close shave. Whilst moisturizing! I’ve always said I hate shaving so much that if I were to become famous, I’d hire a leg shaver in my entourage. Well now I have this baby I think it’s put that person out of a job. Shaving is a bit more fun! You can’t understand how cool it is until you buy this delightful device.
Nivea In Shower Body Lotion - now I was skeptical about this. Sounded way lame. It’s not way lame. I’m rather obsessed with moisturizing but I honestly don’t feel the need to moisturizer after using this (I do in the morning cos I imagine myself looking like a prawn cracker by lunch time if I don’t) but at night I just use this & my skin feels lovely! Yes it’s a bit of a gimmick, selling a moisturizer to used under running water… But there is just something about this. Recommended to me by my friend Cassie & I SO agree!
NYX Setting Spray in Matte - now, I got this because the Urban Decay one I use is pricey & hard to get… BUT AMAZING. So I wanted to see if this compares… It isn’t as good unfortunately, Urban Decay still wins this race BUT seeming as it is so much cheaper it is a good alternative. NYX is how available at Target so get yourself there!
NYX Eyeshadow Palette in “Love in Rio” - this cute little 3 shadow palette is what I’ve been wearing to work of late. It can be used for night or day & the colour stays on nicely for hours & hours. Again, go to Target!!!
Bioderma Crealine - this baby has been an Internet favorite for a while… But now it’s in Priceline!!! You use it on a cotton pad to remove make up. It’s oh so gentle & apparently, it’s what make up artists use on the models when they’re frequently taking off their make up. Bioderma is a French brand & nearly all the writing on this bottle is in French, which instantly makes me like it more. After using this I feel like my name could be “Amelie” or “Chloe”. I use it to take off my face, I then use my cleanser with my clarisonic.
Nivea Lip Butter in Caramel Cream - imagine eating caramel cream & then rubbing it in your lips. No need to imagine, just buy this.
Australis Velourlips - These are ultra matte & come in the craziest colours! They’re not for the faint hearted. My favorite one is the purple one - TOK-I-O & wowwww that is purple. The nude one (PAR-EE) is also lovely & not as crazy. I think of it as a Kim Kardashian nude - oh she does a nude lip well! The secret with a successful nude lip - don’t go lighter than your actual lips… Go a shade darker. Always the most flattering.
That’s all from me pumpkins.

BIG TAN REVIEW!!!
Hey all!
So… I’m all bronzed up, my fave state to be in. For those that don’t know, I do have a severe case of tanorexia & I don’t plan on changing that anytime soon! So I thought I’d write a little review on some of the tans I’ve tried!
J BRONZE DARK TANNING MOUSSE My very first time using this on the weekend! Overall, pretty good! I would give this a 8/10.
The Good - really nice colour! & as soon as you apply it you have a nice golden colour from the get go. It also doesn’t smell too bad at first so if you needed to go somewhere straight away you won’t be amongst people that say “OK, who is wearing fake tan” (this is constantly said around me). I applied with a mitt & it goes on smooth & seamlessly.
The Bad - So I got it in “Dark” & it still took me 3 applications over 2 days to get a tan I would say could be classed as “Dark”. I would defiantly say more of a medium colour. BUT, having said this, at least it makes it harder to over do it for you conservative tanners as the colour is buildable & you won’t do one layer & then wake up & look like you’ve just finished playing in a chimney. (My favorite look!!!) no really.
GARNIER OMBRÉ SOLAIRE Not my favorite unfortunately! 4/10.
The Good - gives a subtle glow for those that again, are more conservative tanners! One layer will be quite light but enough that you feel you’ve done something.
The Bad - I felt I needed to apply this every 2-3 days to stop it from flaking & going blotchy. Also has an orange undertone so if you overdo it, you’re an Oompa Loompa.
MODELCO TAN IN A CAN I always go back to this. I try another tan & then I end up drunkenly banging on Modelco’s door at 3am begging it to take me back because I made a mistake in leaving it. 8/10.
The Good - Dark tan! & it has a green undertone (don’t freak out, it neutralizes orange) so the finish is BROWN, yay! Not orange (nay!). Spray onto yourself & then use a mitt to even out/rub on.
The Bad - Can be messy & easy to make a mistake. Particularly as it is quite dark. Also smells pretty strong. You will be That Girl That Smells Like Tan (TGTSLT) for a day.
ST TROPEZ TANNING MOUSSE Bit more expensive that some of the others, but you can tell why! Quite a professional finish. Itchy as all shite. 5/10.
The Good - Gorgeous colour & it shows up quite quickly. 2 coats should do it! One if you’re a bit shy.
The Bad - Allergic reaction! Not good! Lumps came up under my neck & on my thighs. Not cool. I have very sensitive skin so this probably was just too much for my skin but yeah, I wanted it offffff. They always say to do a spot test, which I never do, but please do it with this. Especially under your chin/on your neck where people tend to be sensitive. Rub a SMALL amount of product there 24 hours earlier & then if you’re all good at that point, do a layer of the tan.
MECCA SUNLESS GODDESS Wow. The price tag is a bit more up there but you’ll see why. 9/10.
The Good - I splurge on this one now & then. It’s a cream, & is THE most natural looking tan out of all mentioned. Also smells the least. I apply with a mitt & use 2 applications to reach my Jedi level of tan. 3 if I’m feeling fragile. It just WON’T go orange! Beautiful brown tan!
The Bad - Being a cream, you can’t tell where you’ve put it so I have been known to end up with patchy feet & dark brown knuckles. I’m not particularly careful though!
LE TAN JET DRY When you want to be BLACK, QUICK! 8/10.
The Good - I use the dark one & MAN is it beautifully dark. ONE application is all I use! I once over used this completely & Maa-haaa-aaaan was I black. A girl in the shops said wow, “I’d love to be that tanned!” I felt like saying, “Bitch Please, we both know I’m fake tanned to-the-balls”. She seemed too young to be having a go at me, I think she was just so taken back with my likeness to Sooty that she had to say something, I get it, she was slapped in the face with my tan.
The Bad - when it starts to come off, it looks pretty nasty. Because it’s so dark it kind of flakes off in patches so you’d better be prepared with a good exfoliation BEFORE it reaches that stage. It also dries out your skin so i’d use a thick moisturizer twice a day.
So…. I know I have compared a spray, a mousse, a cream… So I haven’t compared apples with apples. These are the main ones I use so thought I’d talk about my experience with them. I’d say my preference is mousse. & I might like some of these more if I had tried the sprays/mousses instead of what I’ve tried above. When it comes to tan, the quality really does improve with the $$$ unfortunately!
My tips to use with ANY tan you buy:
1. Exfoliate first - I use the Chocolate Body Shop Scrub & a scrubbing brush all over. 2. Don’t apply any products to the skin (moisturizer, deodorant) between showering & tanning. 3. Apply it with a mitt. 4. Moisturizer every day that you have it on. 5. Unless you’re really sure of what that particular tan builds like, only do one layer at a time (so one layer before bed, one after the shower in the morning rather than 2 layers an hour apart) so you don’t get any nasty surprises when you wake up. 6. Wash your hands EVEN IF you don’t think you got tan on them. Trust me, you did. 7. After applying, rub moisturizer over your WASHED hands & your feet so if there is any tan on them. It’s distributed evenly & diluted a bit. 8. Tan your face. You want to match the rest of you, right! You can buy special facial ones, like the J Bronze! 9. Don’t wear a bra straight after. Just don’t. 10. If it’s a really important event, get a professional spray tan.
IF YOU CAN’T TONE IT, TAN IT!

CONCEAL, CONCEAL, CONCEAL!
Hi Dears!
I have purchased 2 x new fabulous Australis concealers/correctors this week so decided to share!
What is the difference between a concealer & a corrector? Since you asked, a concealer is to conceal problem areas on your skin, or to brighten or highlight. A corrector is a coloured product designed to cancel out areas of your skin that have a certain (undesirable) colour to them. Giving you a neutralized base!
I use both, cos well, that’s what I do.
PURCHASE #1 Australis Conceal Correct 4-in-1 So in this palette there are 4 colours - green, purple, a light concealer & a dark concealer. I’ve been mainly using the corrector colours. So! They work by using the basic premise of the colour wheel - opposite colours cancel each other out, giving a neural surface. Reds opposite colour is green, so putting this green colour on the red areas of your face (pimples, around your nose & mouth) will neutralize the red. I use this after primer but before foundation. Now, this next bit confused me a little… On the palette itself there’s instructions on how to use it, & it says to put the purple (it’s VERY light) under eyes to cancel out circles… This is not what the colour wheel says! I have always been taught that yellow cancels out dark circles. BUT! I put my faith in Australis & gave it a burl! You know what? It worked ok! I go over my under eyes later on in the make up routine anyway but using the purple corrector this way did seen to work. Overall, before I put my foundation on I had a pretty nicely covered & even toned surface on my face.
In summary - prime - then green on red areas around nose, pimples & your mouth, then the purple (or a yellow, if you’re not game) on your dark circles under your eyes. THEN foundation!
PURCHASE #2 Australis GO CAMO Full On Coverage Concealer It had me at “Full On Coverage”
Firstly I take a Real Techniques Concealer brush & I paint this on under my eyes & on the lines in my skin that connect my nose & mouth. Does that make sense? It’s an area that can get shadowy so I like to make sure it’s covered! IT’S SO LONG WEARING! I put this product on the back of my hand & dip the brush in the product from there, & I still had it on the back of my hand at 3pm today! After washing my hands a million times! I commented to my lovely colleague this afternoon that I was loving my make up today (it’s ok to be that vain around close friends) & the only different thing I’ve used this week are these concealers! It’s now 9:22pm & night & my make up, particularly under my eyes, is still so well covered. My foundation is full coverage anyway (MAC Studio Fix Fluid) but this product had still made a difference. Powder goes on after this step.
In 2013 there are no excuses for visible pimples.

How NOT to look like Courtney Love
Disclaimer: I actually LOVE Courtney (pun intended) Celebrity Skin was one of my fave CDs way back when! However there’s no doubting she did party pretty hard & didn’t nip into the toilets to check her make up as often as she could have, did ya Courtz? I doubt she wasn’t terribly hydrated either.
So I was thinking about the big weekend I have ahead & thinking about the things I do & will do to combat a hangover, tiredness, & generally looking like a foot when it’s all a bit too much!
***sorry if you’re reading this post & have already obliterated yourself on Melbourne Cup day, I can’t undo the damage you’ve already done, sweets.
PREEEEE OUTING! #1 This is a simple simple step - drink water. Already being hydrated will help how you’re about to feel, & it makes your skin glow!
#2 I find my make up looks better & goes on nicer when I haven’t worn make up the day before (this one is hard to do, for me) I don’t know why it works, but it does. If I have something really big coming up I will try & not wear make up the day before, & if the event is at night I most definitely won’t wear make up that day that I have to take off & reapply. I also use Rosehip oil on my naked skin - have discussed this in other posts. This is a life saver! & will appear in the “Post Outing” section for sure.
#3 I have sensitive eyes, possibly because they’ve been drowned in make up for 13 years (eh, worth it) so before I do my make up, I use anti allergy drops in my eyes, or just Murine eye drops. Just something to clear & soothe yours eyes before all the magic starts to happen.
DURING THE OUTING #1 is it going to be a massively long day? How are you feeling about the constant maintenance of that red lip or smokey eye or fake eye lashes you’re about to sport? Try wearing make up that it easily touched up. An intricate, ombré, multi toned smokey eye is awesome, yes, but if you have to touch that up… How much make up will you have to carry with you! (& can you do it drunk?) a subtle bronze & liquid eyeliner will work a treat! & I’d bring a little compact & one brush with me. Perhaps a neutral, softly shimmery shade that if need be, can be dusted lightly over the lid. & lips - go with a stain or something with some serious longevity! Maybe something in crayon form that doesn’t really need a mirror - Revlon Kissable Lip Stains baby!!!
#2 This is a terrible tip - but unfortunately spraying hair spray over your made up face DOES WORK in keeping your face on. I personally like the Urban Decay All Nighter Spray BUT have been known to use hairspray in its non recommended form before. Please don’t do this very often.
#3 Wear comfortable underwear
POST OUTING Out of the foetal position, you have somewhere else to be… Grandmas 80th? A wine tour? WORK?
#1 Sorry but I can’t talk to you if you haven’t taken your make up off before you went to sleep. Even if it was on a roof, couldn’t you have grabbed the make up wipes? Filth. TAKE YOUR MAKE UP OFF BEFORE YOU SLEEP. PLEEEEASE.
#2 Cleanse & exfoliate your skin. I know I advocate doing the exfoliation at night, but we need some extra help here. After you’ve done that, I like to use a Skinvitals hydration mask! They’re sold at Priceline & are cheap! They’re cloth masks & if you can get past looking like a member of Slipknot for 15 minutes, they’re worth it. These will wake up your skin a bit!
#3 Rosehip Oil! Rosehip Oil! It will feeeeeed your poor thirsty skin!
#4 Wash your hair or WEAR IT UP. I once had to go to a uni class after a big night out, thought I’d just run a brush through my night clubby hair… Got asked why I had “put a strip of red dye through my hair” long story short, had Red Pulse all trough my hair (a gross sugary vodka drink for those of you playing at home). Should’ve washed it. If you really really really can’t even handle standing up for that long - wear it in a chignon or a high ponytail or something that will look slick & polished! Your hair will probably be dry & might smell like wine so the less of it all around the place, the better. Hide those nasty ends if you can!
#5 Fake an awake face! No eyeliner or mascara on the bottom lash line, line your waterline with white eyeliner, use a highlighting concealer under your eyes, cream or slightly shimmering blush, light eyeshadow or just a neat slick of liquid eyeliner on the top lash line. On the lips, I’d shy away from matte or dark coloured lipsticks, go with a coloured balm or Chapstick! At the moment I’m LOVING the Nivea Lip Butters! They’re not coloured but they add a nice shine. Lanolips have coloured balms that are just lovelyyyy.
There you go, say happy birthday to Nanna for me!

MECCA HAUL!
So, I went for a little shop online at http://www.meccacosmetica.com.au/ the other night, & picked up some looovelyyyyy things! Something that is great about Mecca, other than their amazing selection, is how QUICKLY you get what you’ve ordered! It’s like there’s a little elf standing by waiting for your order & when it comes through, they fling it out the window into the nearest jet flying past & then BAM it’s on your doorstep! I ordered this stuff about 9pm on Wednesday night, & it arrived at 10am on Friday morning!
My haul consisted of -
#1 SOAP & GLORY - THE RIGHTEOUS BUTTER BODY CREAM. This is probably my favorite thing I bought. The SMELL! WOW! The smell! It’s like a clean, sweet smell & if they bottled it & sold as perfume, I’d want to buy it! It’s for dry skin & is quite thick, but does absorb quite quickly. I found myself putting it all over my legs just before I started writing this entry, I only put it on an hour ago but just wanted to use it again! The tagline in this is “A body moisturizing formula so virtuous you might swear you’re wearing velvet” I tend to agree! I’ve mentioned Soap & Glory in a few other posts, because they’re so worthy of the praise! If you’re overseas, Sephora sells this brand, & I believe it’s sold in Boots in the UK. It’s made in the UK so I imagine you can get it anywhere there!
#2 SOAP & GLORY - CLEAN, GIRLS SKIN SOFTENING CREAMY BODY WASH Yep, Soap & Glory again! I have the Clean on Me Body Wash as well & I must say I do like that scent better. But this one is still nice. The S&G body washes have a built-in “Moistursing Matrix” which basically means it’s moisturizing enough that if you didn’t want to, you wouldn’t feel the need to moisturizer again after showering with this. I do, cos I like to overkill on things but I have noticed my skin does feel super smooth & soft after using this! 500mls of this is only $13.95, not too bad at all!
#3 SOAP & GLORY - GLOW LOTION I swear this is the last S&G product in this post! I think they sum up what this is for pretty well on the bottle - “Use Glow Lotion all over as a moisturizer, on your neck and shoulders as a fragrant shimmer, or as a stand in for stockings when you find yourself short of a little shin shine”. Yep - can confirm does all of this well. It’s a pinky/gold glow but is quite subtle. I haven’t worn this out yet, just doused myself in it whilst sitting at home trying all this out, but I intend to sport it’ tonight for sure! Again - smells beautiful.
#4 BUMBLE & BUMBLE THICKENING SHAMPOO I’m on about my 3rd bottle of this now, & if you’re a reader of mine (MWAAAA!) you would’ve seen me write about this before. It’s thickening rather than volumizing, so generally adds a lovely thick (duh), but smooth & healthy feeling through your hair. When I first bought this in the actual Mecca shop, the lovely & ALWAYS helpful sales girl there said that they had spoken to one of the NY reps for B&B & their tip for using this product was that if you want MEGA thickness/volume, use the conditioner first, THEN the shampoo & your hair will just be in another realm of thick. I haven’t tried this yet as i’m scared because I have dyed blonde hair, that it’ll be drying using the shampoo last. When I get some balls I’ll give this a go & let you know how I go!
#5 BUMBLE & BUMBLE SURF SPRAY First time buying this! I generally use the Fudge one or the David Babaii one (sea salt sprays that is) but seeming as this brand & myself are having such a steamy love affair I decided to give this one a shot. IMPRESSED. I loosely curled my hair using my Miracurl, then spritz this though. Gave an awesome finish! My hair was still nicely textured today. It gives a messier look to curls/waves rather than polished. Think Jennifer Hawkins, the Olsen twins or Kate Moss - all queens of bed head! You could also skip the curling step & just scrunch dry your hair & spray this through, which I have done plenty of times too! I’d say Jen uses curls, the Olsen twins don’t. Google image these ladies to see what I’m talking about!
#6 TOO FACED - NATURAL AT NIGHT EYE SHADOW COLLECTION Boy oh boy did this excite me. I KNOW I have written on my blog that you won’t see the word Natural here (it’s a dirty word to me) but this is an exception, & the colours are amazing & not really that natural at all. I guess that’s where the “At Night” bit comes in! There is a mixture of matte & shimmery colours, all in Earthy, warm tones, I think anyone would get mileage out of this. My favorite colour is “Night Fever” which is a dark, glittery, goldy green. Beautiful! There’s also little instruction cards that tell you how to create different looks with the colours in the palette! Too Faced are a great brand & these are really pigmented. Whether you’re an absolute diva or the girl next door type, I think you’d like this. On the site there’s a whole range of these palettes so go nuts! In this fabulous brand I’d recommend any of them.
I hope you enjoyed!
Mecca up!

Pro Tip:
You can wear ANY color of lipstick in the world.  It doesn’t matter what skin tone you have, what hair color you have, your age or size…. nothing matters.  As long as you’re wearing that lip color with CONFIDENCE it’s going to look amazing.  Just stop worrying what other people are going to think, and then people won’t think anything other than how cool and expressive you are for wearing that lipstick.  I PROMISE!
TOTALLY agree with this. I hear so many people say "I can't pull off red lipstick" etc. ANYONE CAN!
THINGS I PLAN ON GETTING OBSESSED WITH THIS SUMMER!
Side note about me, I get obsessed with things. I love them until, well, I don’t love them anymore (& get obsessed with something else) & no, I’m not a man!
Looking forward to Summer, there’s already some beauty looks/products in mind i’ll do to death!
#1 BEACHY WAVED HAIR Straight hair is SO Winter! I say, 4 days after paying nearly $400 on a straightener, more fool me! Nah, i’m sure I’ll wear straight hair just plenty. BUT, in my mind… I’m Jennifer Hawkins. I’m gonna Jennifer Hawkins the #%*£ out of my hair. It’ll go something like this - wash, volume mousse, blow dry (just messily) then I’ll grab my Rusk Miracurl, & using the lowest heat & curl setting I’ll curl the ends… & then using a sea salt spray, spritz it though all of your hair & scrunch lightly whilst doing it. I like David Babaii’s one, or the Fudge one. My jocks weren’t rocked by the Toni & Guy one!
OH LOOK IT’S JENNIFER HAWKINS! HI JEN!
#2 BRONZE EYE Ok, you got me, I already wear this a lot. BUT! Imagine how nicely it’ll go with tan! (***all my looks have to go nicely with tan) & I just love the Scandaleyes “Bad to the Bronze” eye crayon. Gonna use it a lot I can tell! Bronze eye can be worn anytime in my opinion!
#3 LANOLIPS MULBERRY I had to order this online, couldn’t find it anywhere! IT LOOKS GOOD WITH TAN. Don’t judge me. It’s only slightly pigmented with the Mulberry colour but it is buildable. This will go nicely with above looks! & I always get majorly dry lips so having a coloured lip product that’s as moisturizing as this is a huge added bonus!
#4 FLURO NAIL POLISH Just got Mecca “Citron” nail polish. SO green! See pic above. Whoa whoa! Haven’t worn it yet as I’ve just had my nails shellaced but man am I looking forward to it! It’s going to be like painting radioactive goo in my nails. Can’t wait! Willalsolookgoodwithtan.
#5 SOAP & GLORY PRODUCTS Not sure why I envisage these as Summer products, but I do. The smell maybe? I just got the “Clean on Me” shower cream & it’s just beautiful, first discovered this stuff in Sephora in KL, initially fell in love with the packaging & funny names on things “Scrub Actually” to be exact, how cute! But after using the Hand Food Hand Cream, No Scubs Allowed Face Scrub & the Clean On Me, I’m hooked! Going to do an order tonight (I get it from Mecca online) & I think I’ll go for one (or more?) of the body creams. Check them out!
#6 BODY OIL Because it makes your tan glow (stop rolling your eyes, mum)… & makes your skin soft etc etc. At the mo I have Sukin Wellbeing Oil, the Palmers one made me itchy! I also love the Body Shop ones… There’s a chocolate one! Chocolate! As soon as you get out the shower, you don’t even have to dry yourself properly, SLATHER on that oil. You’ll feel instantaneously Summery! Looks awesome over legs & shoulders. Not so much in hair.
That’s all my loves!
I hope to be living in a Summery World of green nail polish & mulberry lips!

My Make Up Tips! (Well I'm sure they're not JUST mine, but I use them!)
Hey Kids!
Thanks for those of you that are following me! & to those that aren’t, well, I guess we’re still good.
I’m going to write a few make up/beauty tips that I have. I hope you find these helpful! I’m hoping this is different to my previous “tip” post. This will be more based around THE FACE.
#1 Exfoliate AT NIGHT Boring start? Ow I’m sorry, BUT - exfoliating at night means you can put on your luscious juicy night cream afterwards & while you sleep you’ll turn into a Disney Princess. So scrub, scrub away! Then slather on your goo (this would be a good time for Rosehip oil) I use Skin Juice Fused Skin Drops, I have also been using a sample of Bioderma Exfoliating Gel & that’s quite nice too! If you haven’t got anything, & IGA is still open, go but some Baking Soda & mix a teaspoon in with your cleanser. BAM GLOWING SKIN. Emma Stone does this, & she’s pashed Ryan Gosling. So yeah, say no more. Side note - you only need to exfoliate 3ish times a week. The other nights you’ll be busy pashing Ryan Gosling anyway.
#2 PRIME! Primers are NOT underrated! They’re an essential step. There’s so many on the market today! Some that correct skin tone, some that hydrate, smooth lines & the list goes on! I have already said a Bazillion times that I love Smashbox Photo Finish Primer http://www.meccacosmetica.com.au & I apply this with a Real Techniques Stipling brush! (Priceline) smooooooothest finish! One might even say, a photo finish? See what I did there.
#3 APPLY FOUNDATION WITH A BRUSH! I will never go back to sponges after using a good brush to paint my face on. Plus, sponges eat your make up! I use a MAC 187 brush. I went to a MAC master class & the make up artist used this on the model & for me it was love at first sight! 18 months later we’re still going strong. Wanna look like a perfectly painted doll? Then paint it on! I should actually say buff it on, I use circular motions over my face starting in the centre & working outwwards.
#4 LET IT SET! Between moisturizing, priming, applying foundation & applying powder, wait a minute or so in between to let it set on your skin. I find this especially important between foundation & powder. If you wear a decent amount of foundation (which, ahh, umm… I have been known to do) if you run a powder brush over it straight away it can kind of like smear it. Let it bond, get to know & take your skin out to dinner before its covered in powder, k? Cool.
#5 BRONZER To give skin a pretty, healthy glow, use the “33” method. So imagine, with bronzer, brushing a 3 down each side of your face. This makes your face look thinner! So start on the forehead, then contour under the cheek bone, then along the jaw line, GO EASY! I recommend using quite a mild bronzer with this (depending on skin tone obviously) I use Maybelline Terra Sun which is just looovelyyyyy & you can put heaps on without it looking orange. If you’re a bit shy about this, just use it under your cheek bones & then apply a nice pink on the apples of your cheeks! (The fat bits when you smile).
#6 KIM KARDASHIAN You heard me. Let me explain. This tip involves doing a triangle of concealer under your eyes & then blending out. Kim K is THE QUEEN of this. The lightest part of her face is always under her eyes & it gives a flawless look. So imagine drawing an upside down triangle under your eyes & then blend blend blend. I do this AFTER foundation but BEFORE powder, if i’m still seeing a slither of a dark circle after I’ve done powder i’ll brush on a bit more concealer. Hey, I said I don’t do natural, ok? Oh & when I say triangle I mean fill it in, I use a pretty decent sized brush for this (sorry I bought in KL so no idea what brand!) but it’s probably about the size of my thumb in thickness.
In summary, the most flattering parts of your face to be LIGHT are: under the eyes, bridge of the nose. DARK: sides of the nose, under the cheek bones.
#7 LIPS Every gal, or guy, whatever! Should own a lip product very similar to their lip colour. Like a “your lips, but better!” colour. You’re always going to suit your own lips, right? So having a lip colour that enhances them slightly without making you look OTT is a great move, especially for work or somewhere where you don’t want to go crazy. You look “done” without trying too hard. My favorite like-lips-but-more colours are: MAC Satin Lipstick in “Faux” Revlon Lip Butter in “Peach Parfait” Covergirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in “270” (creative name huh)
Thanks for reading my loves!
Ryan G is telling me to get off my phone & come to bed. Gotta go!

Click the title above to watch video I talk about below!
If I could narrow it down to one person who I would want to copy for 2013 - it’s Marina Diamandis! Just lurrrrrrving her look! Once I saw the video to Primadonna I thought I WANNA LOOK LIKE THAT IN PUBLIC. Considering she wears a nightie through most of the video I couldn’t really replicate that (but OHHH I wanna) I rolled with the following few things -
#1 WHITE NAILS - I have only just changed my nails from this. They just looked so good! Great with a tan (my life revolves around tan, have you noticed?).
#2 MULTI TONED BLONDE HAIR - Although I don’t currently sport her black roots & blonde hair look, I love how she’s blonde but the dark breaks it up.
#3 DARK EYEBROWS - I LOVE the look of dark eyebrows & blonde hair. So 80’s Madonna! Mine are always crazy dark & that’s the way I like it! I’m always scared that if I coloured my eyebrows to match my hair I’d look like Britney Spears in that weird stage. Google it, she had BAD blonde eyebrows. ONYA Marina!
#4 LIQUID EYELINER - Why would you do anything else? I love this too much to even speak about.
#5 COLOURED LIPS - Pretty much same as above. It’s hot, feminine, a bit vintage…. & JUST WORKS.
So yes, loving Marina! Watch her videos! I might even wear a nightie to work this week.

NEW Gadgets!
My bathroom is FAST filling up with electronic gadgets. As if there’s room for anything else in my bathroom, HA!
Thought I’d do a bit of a review/why I love the things I’ve got.
Do you have the Inspector Gadget theme song in your head now? I DO.
Gadget #1 - Clarisonic Mia 2 (Top Left) Get it. Get it NOW. This is a cleansing system that uses sonic energy to rotate/vibrate your cleanser into your face. Gentle enough to use twice a day but powerful enough to notice the difference! To Use - When in the shower (when you’re naked, WOOOO!) put your cleanser over your face & wet the Mia with warm water (it’s waterproof) & then gently move it over your face. 20 seconds forehead, 20 seconds chin, 10 seconds each cheek. If you have the Mia 2 it’ll beep when each area is done. I’ve noticed an improvement in skin tone & smoothness! I highly recommend this. I have sensitive skin & it’s not caused any break outs or anything. It’s a bit pricey though (about $175) so do your research first! I got mine from http://www.clarisonic.com.au & it came in about a week & a half. It charges on a cradle & you need to get a new brush for it about every 3 months (for me & my heavy handedness, I imagine that’ll be about every month). So far, LURRRVING IT! In case that wasn’t obvious!
Gadget #2 - Rusk Miracurl (bottom left) I can’t curl with a GHD. Just can’t, & don’t intend to learn. So shhh, I’m sure it’s easy for you, it’s “all in the wrist” blah blah GHD’s are for straightening. This MAGICAL machine just sucks in your hair, & curls it! There’s 3 heat settings, 3 curl tightness settings & you can tell it what side of your head you’re doing so it curls the hair accordingly. By “tell it” I mean there’s a button you press. It’s not like Siri. Although wouldn’t that be fun!!!! To Use - Divide your hair into 2, I don’t pin it out anything, I just pull each side over my shoulder. Start at the front, & I’ll say the only downside with this is that you have to curl quite small portions at a time, & make sure your hair is well brushed! With the open chamber side facing your head, you then clamp it over the section & it’ll suck the hair in. It’ll beep four times & then beeps rapidly when it’s time to release the curl. BAM THERE’S A CURL. I would recommend watching a YouTube tutorial http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wSsQz0nLgmw it’s what I did before I used it! The curls really last! I usually wash, put in volume mouse (David Babaii Whipped Volume Mousse works a treat) blow dry, give it a good brush, a spritz of heat protector & away you go! My Rusk was $199 from Hairhouse Warehouse.
Gadget #3 - GHD Deluxe Kit - Air Dryer & Straightener I accidentally drowned my former GHD with shampoo, so had to buy a new one! Have to say the momentary pain of losing one was gone pretty quickly upon getting the Wonderland Kit! For the straightener & air dryer it was $370, not bad huh! The dryer is so light & so POWERFUL! Hair dryers with slow air (if that makes sense?) will make your hair fluffy & awful, this does NOT do that! I use a barrel brush & usually blast it dry more than anything & it gave an awesome, smooth, bouncy finish! The GHD. What can I say about a GHD really? You all know how awesome they are. The best way to straighten is curving “c” motions from the back of your head around to your chin. So each piece of hair you grab, pull it forward & around your face as if making a “C” which gives a nicer finish than pulling the hair straight down. Frames your face nicer too! The GHD Wonderland makes a different beeping “on” sound to the other ones. MIND BLOWN! I don’t intend to learn how to curl with this one either. Stop trying to teach me. Stop it.
Gives a nice finish to a blow dry / straight job to spray a flat brush or styler brush with hair spray & then lightly brush it through your hair. That’s right! spray the brush! Makes the hair feel nicer than having hair spray sprayed directly on it! I’m a L’Oreal Elnett fan!
Fill your bathrooms with these glorious items!!!

Rimmel is takes me to Pa-Ra-Dise & it showwww owwww owwwww owwwwws YEAHY YEAH YEAHHHHHH
I was never much into Rimmel until lately. To be honest, I found their eye shadows powdery & unpigmented, & I also had a bad experience with an orangey primer & an oily foundation! BUT, of late, their range is blowing my mind. I will have to give their other stuff another go!
Scandaleyes - the Eyeshadow Crayons (the thick ones) & the Long Wear Waterproof Eyeliners (thin ones) are AMAZING!!! They’re long wearing, quite waterproof (for that pesky hose loving colleague of yours) & the colours are SO RICH! The eyeliners are up there with the MAC ones!
SUPER SIMPLE BRONZE SMOKEY EYE - with Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Crayon in “Bad Girl Bronze” cover your eyelid up to your crease & wing it out SLIGHTLY (You’re not Amy Winehouse, my love) & then get a blending brush (I use MAC 230 brush) & blend your powder bronzer (any old bronzer! Even one you found in the street!) over the crease to soften the edges. Be brutal, blend it like it’s never been blended before. Kind of like a windscreen wiper effect! When you’ve feel you’ve blended enough, blend some more. The bronzer should be between the crayon & your brow bone but not over your brow bone. Then, get Scandaleyes Crayon in “Bullet Proof Beige” & dab in corners of your eyes LIGHTLY over the brow bone. Line your water line with the Scandaleyes Eyeliner in “Bronze” for a smokier look or “Nude” to open up the eyes a bit! I’d roll with a red lil with this because Over The Top is my bag baby but if not, a softer pink or nude lip would look awesome!
Apocalips Lip Lacquer- ERRRMAAAGERRRD these are SO pigmented! (Seems to be the word of the day, hey?) use any of them! All of them! My fave colour is “Apocalyptic”.
HOTTIP! Put on the back on your hand.
End of look.
Just kidding (I love doing that) then dab your blush brush in it EVER SO LIGHTLY & use as a cream blush on the apples of your cheeks! Will give you a pretty, flushed look!
Hope you’re digging Rimmel as much as I am!

Tips to tell the Grankids!
Hey hey hey!
My last 2 posts might’ve brutally pushed you into spending money (it’s ok I feel like that with myself inside my brain too). So I decided to roll with a post that will only involve items that you most probably have at home! ***most probably, most probably.
Below I plan on imparting some beauty tips to you! Simple stuff. Real simple stuff! That I do most times I get ready!
#1 TEA BAGGIN’ Dry eyes? Sensitive eyes? Puffy eyes? Hayfever? Red eyes? Watery eyes?
Tea bags.
You need regular black tea, tea bags. Not herbal as they need to contain an element of caffeine. So! All you do, is lay 2 x tea bags on the sink (number may vary depending in how many eyes you have) boil water, pour over tea bags so they are covered & you can see the colour of the tea coming out of the water that’s running off them… Then gently press them to remove the excess water (take measures not to burn yourself, pumpkin) then put them in the freezer for 10 mins. Then whack them on your eyes! Or at least lay down & place them gently. I usually wrap an elastic headband around my head so it holds them in place. It’s usually at this moment I realize why I’m single. Leave them on for as long as you can bare without wanting to check your phone (true story, right?).
Then your eyes should feel better! Generally, the tea is soothing & constricts the blood vessels or something, long story short, your eyes should look & feel better.
#2 COLD WATER! When you’ve washed & conditioned your hair, run cold water through your hair for a minute or so. It REALLY DOES smooth your hair! Flattens the cuticles! In Winter, this isn’t fun.
#3 PERFUME PLACEMENT When dousing yourself in perfume, spray a little bit on your finger & dab it just in front on your ears. This sounds basic, but when people hug & kiss you on the cheek, their nose will go right where you’ve put the perfume & they’ll be able to smell it really well. Go pretty easy on it though ok? You don’t want people passing out after they’ve hugged you. Unless that’s your plan, then roll with that.
Apparently people perceive people that smell nice as more attractive! Uberfacts told me so it must be true.
#4 HOME EXFOLIATOR Sugar & Olive oil. Get amongst it. Also acts as a good tan remover. (As if anyone would want to remove tan. Unless it’s to make room for MORE TAN!) & makes your skin feel awesome! The sugar won’t dissolve cos the oil isn’t hot!
#5 DIY EYELASH CURLER Why don’t you have an eyelash curler? WHY? Get a spoon, blow your hair dryer on it, then press the spoon onto your lashes (food side against your eyes, but please no food on it) no need to push hard or even apply pressure onto your eyes, just enough that your lashes are being curled! The heat helps!
#6 GLOWING BODY OIL NARS sell a beautiful one, but who has time for that. Get any old body oil, Sukin Wellbeing Oil? Coconut Oil? Reef Oil? & mix it with a shimmery / glittery eyeshadow / powder bronzer & put over arms, legs & chest & you’ll GLOWWWW! I use a MAC pigment pot in a gold colour (gold is most flattering!) but any shimmery goldy, bronze type one is ok! Just not a coloured one, for obvious reasons! Test on your hand first before covering yourself in it to make sure you don’t look like a cyborg (silver may do that) & is also why a goldy colour is best! Looks awesome over tan!
#7 SPOONS AGAIN I saw this one on a show that was something like “Beauty Queens Exposed”. It’s very simple & also combats puffy eyes like tip number #1…. Get 2 x spoons, put in the freezer & once cold, press onto your eyes for as long as you can stand it! Frozen spoons hurt, but what would you expect from beauty queens? Make sure there’s no freezer frost on the spoons, you just want them chilled!
#8 DOUBLE THE MASCARA! Want lengthening? & volume? Use 2 mascaras that each claim to do one of these things & BOOM they’ll join forces! I use a lengthening one first & then a volumizing one. I also HATE HATE HATE waterproof mascaras & NEVERRR use them. I like soft ones. waterproof mascaras dry out your lashes & then they fall out, in my experience! Just go easy with this too as it can get clumpy!
#9 SIMPLE BEACH WAVES After you’ve washed your hair, blow dry it (in any particular fashion) & then do all little Princess Leia twists on your head (so twist the hair until it doubles over on itself) do 4 or 5 of them. Secure them with those clips you use to separate your hair when you’re straightening it, rather than elastics. Can also use bobby pins.
End of look.
Just kidding, then blast the Leia twists with hot hair & spritz over with a bit of hair spray. Wait for them to cool down & once you take them out, your hair will be all textured & beachy. Spray with sea salt spray of you have it!
May the force be with you.
#10 THIS TIP IS SO LAME Drink lots of water & sleep well, nothing will make you prettier than this.
I know, I just vomited too. Unfortunately, it’s true!

If you ain't got no money take your broke ass... To Priceline
SO! Thought I’d do a post on my favorite substitute or “dupe” products that I buy when I can’t afford or don’t have access to the more expensive stuff! I use a pretty good mixture of PL & high end stuff anyway. I’m not a product snob… I’m there using Vaseline on my lips as much as the next person!
& then there’s just those times that you’ve put off ordering your fave stuff online & there you are, scraping the container clean & you know your order hasn’t even boarded the plane yet. TO PRICELINE you go! Or as I like to call it, “Saturday”
David Babaii Ultimate Volume Shampoo is a great dupe for… Bumble & Bumble thickening shampoo! (Mentioned in previous blog).
David Babaii stuff is just looovelyyyyy. And and AND he doesn’t test on animals or have the bad stuff in his products! Sulphate, etc, I believe! This shampoo, & the whole range actually, smells awesome & I think the ultimate volume shampoo ACTUALLY improves your hair quality over time! It’s not cheap cheap, about $20, but the B&B stuff is about double that so if you’re into volumizing / thickening stuff, give David a go! I also follow him on Instagram & he seems likes a nice guy! & that matters! I even forgave this product after the bottle opened in my luggage & drowned my GHD. Yep, I like it THAT MUCH! We just sat down & talked & we’re all good now.
Australis Primer is a great dupe for… Well, actually, ANY primer! The Australis primer in the white bottle is beautiful. Makes you looks so healthy! & it’s mad cheap! Smashbox is still my fave, & I like MAC’s Prep & Prime too. But Australis is up there! It sure can piss with the big boys.
Sukin Skin Products are a great dupe for… Skin Juice Products!
Now, just to let you know, Skin Juice to me is irreplaceable BUT as I can only get it online, there are times when I’ve had to buy something else in the meantime while its frolicking in the sun on the way to my house. Sukin is that product! I have tried the creamy cleanser & the moisturizer & they’re so good! Bit about Skin Juice - Skin Juice is a natural Australian brand - http://www.skinjuice.com.au/ & I’ve been using it 2+ years & it’s brought my skin BACK TO LIFE. I might actually do a whole post on SJ because it’s so worthy. So so worthy. I think in this post Skin Juice rained on Sukin’s parade a little & now I feel sorry for Sukin. I guess what I’m getting as is that when I use Sukin, it’s doesn’t undo all the good work SJ has done. It’s like a highly entertaining back up dancer that will probably become famous eventually.
Maybelline Super Stay 24hour Pressed Powder is a great dupe for… MAC Studio Fix Pressed Powder!
Now, I don’t see why it has to last 24hours, & be waterproof… Do you get sprayed in the face with water a lot at work? Got a fellow colleague that’s a real asshole with a hose? If so, time to change jobs. But hey, it is good! Lovely finish, does last, & isn’t oily. This does have quite a lot of coverage & if you have dry skin, this might not be for you. Another good one is the Maybelline Fit Me powder. But I go shiny with that! So for you slightly dry ladies, maybe give that one a shot.
Le Tan Jet Dry AND ModelCo Spray tan are a great dupe for… St Tropez Tan!
ONLY. IF. APPLIED. PROPERLY. USE A MITT! TELL ME YOU’LL USE A MITT.
The St Tropez tan is more expensive & made my skin itchy. Not cool. I do have sensitive skin so I’m pretty sure this was just me, otherwise St Tropez is an awesome colour! But yes, use a tan mitt & the other 2 will be fine!!! I need to do a whole post on tanning. It is my first love.
Lastly… & it’s a big call… BIG CALL… Models Prefer from Desk to Date Blush is a great dupe for… NARS ORGASM BLUSH. THERE I SAID IT. Both a pretty pink, both a little bit shimmery (NARS moreso) & BOTH DELIGHTFUL!!! Seriously try it! You’ll look all glowy & stuff! So collect the spare change in your car & GO BUY IT! It’s so cheap! Please don’t tell Mr Nars is said this. I know Orgasm is the Rolls Royce of blush… But yeah, MP Pleasantly surprised me!!!
That’s all for now! Thanks for the positive feedback!
Now go forth & tan/wash your hair/spray your colleague with a hose, whatever you got from this blog is just fine!
