How to Travel With Your Tennis Equipment

Holiday! The best time of the year and even though winter is in full throttle, some of you are looking for more exotic, tropical places to spend the time off. Traveling and exotic leisure activities involve for many people practicing and training tennis and with so many restrictions and on-board rules you need to know how you can carry along your tennis equipment. Added, are the precautions you need to take to safely travel with your precious tennis gear.

Most tennis racquets are made out of graphite, basalt and Kevlar. These are very resistant materials and if treated as intended they should resist tough bag handling. Conditions like extreme temperatures combined with bending can make the racquets more sensitive to change its properties, hence prone to breakage. That’s why it’s advisable not to leave the racquets in the trunk of your car under extreme temperatures. Unless properly protected inside a thermo-insulated bag. How to Keep Sweat off Messing Up Your Game and Your Gear

Sweat can be one of many factors to look for if you want to perform better on court. Every organism is different and while some can play with little to no moisture on their hands, some others have to consider a temporary relief for the excess sweat that can ruin the moment and get them out of 'the zone'.

There are basically two ways to tackle hand sweat: Overgrip Tape and Grip Lotions

Overgrip Tape is a basic accessory that every player should have available anytime, it absorbs excess moisture and protects the original grip wrapped around the handle of the Tennis tennis grip tape Racquet. You can choose between different feels: dry, tacky, grooved, perforated. There's one for every taste from every brand and they usually come in colors to match with your racquet or your Tennis Outfit. Bear in mind that using overgrip tape will change the feel of the racquet and increase the size of the handle, not that is going too dramatic but it's something to consider if you already have a racquet that's a bit larger for your grip. The Very Basic Tennis String Selection Guide for Complete Beginners.

First I’d like to congratulate you on deciding playing Tennis, this is an amazing sport that can bring health benefits at any age and it’ll be an opportunity to share great moments with friends and family. It will help you strengthen your physique and the bonds with your loved ones.

Every beginner starts with a list full on questions and one of the most common is: what strings should I use on my tennis racquet?

Stephan Arnesen is one of our consulting coaches here at Tennis Plaza, he is a former professional tennis player who has been coaching kids taking them to top ranking positions in the State of Florida and even though there are many ways to select strings for beginners and juniors, this is his approach.

-‘String selection for complete beginners should be divided into two paths: strings for non breakers and strings for breakers. The introduction of more technical concepts at this stage is unnecessary and can become overwhelming to someone who is just starting playing. Taking this into account, if you are a complete beginner you are a non string breaker’ technique developing will increase the chance of breaking strings more often. – ‘I always recommend soft multi-filaments or synthetics for tennis-strings developing stages, they will bring power to your game, comfort to protect your arm and will keep budget to a minimum, these kind of string range from just $3.95 like the Dunlop Synthetic Gut to a high end sets like the Tecnifibre X One Biphase for $18.95 and everything in between. Once the technique and playing style is consistent string breaking can be as often as once a week. This is the time to move to Polyester strings, they are stiffer which means less power and comfort but more durability and easy access to ball effects. This is what many people call ‘nylon strings’ and must be avoided if you are a complete beginner however, if you decide to use Polyester you should lower the tension about 5% off the tension you put on Multi-filaments. They come in shapes that can increase ball bite, control over long shots and accuracy on volleys. My favorites are the Luxilon Alu Power 125, it holds the tension forever, the Wilson Revolve Spin which is great for juniors transitioning to deeper ball effect and The RPM Blast from Babolat that I recommend for adults who need a high quality poly string with power and control balance’.
