Pulling down the sleeves of his off-shoulder knit, Yamada was biting nervously on his lips. He should never have agreed to this idea and this is making him a lot of self-conscious than usual. Covering his face with his hands, Yamada sighed a little before pulling his beanie lower. The denim skirt is making him feel like heâs wearing nothing, and having to wear stockings made everything worst.
At the very least, he is comfortable in his boots (and also the pretty over-sized looking off-shoulder knit, and knitted beanie).
Just when he was about to get up and hike back home, Yamada felt a pair of arms encircling his waist and pulling him into a warm embrace. âSorry Iâm late, Yama-chan.â
âAnd I was thinking of going home already.â He didnât have to turn around to know that it was Yuto that is hugging him from the back.
He didnât have to guess because this is all happening because of him.
Turning around in his arms, Yamada was met with a usual grin and he spots Yutoâs camera (one of the many cameras the man owns) hanging on his shoulder. âI have no idea why I agreed to this. My sister thought that I was mad going out like this,â rolling his eyes, Yamada nudged Yutoâs arms away.
âAnd what did you say?â
âI informed her about the presences of a crazy photographer boyfriend, and her only reaction was âoh, have funâ.â Clicking his tongue, Yamada waved to Yuto, signalling to the younger man to follow him. âHow is dressing up as a female out in the public fun?â Yuto had quickly followed up, and naturally held onto Yamadaâs right hand. âOf course there are plus points to this. We can hold hands out in the public like this.â While saying that, he carefully laced their fingers together. He could see Yamadaâs cheeks tinted a little more pink than the blusher he had applied.
âSo, where is the cafe you were telling me about?â
âA cat cafe. I think I need to surround myself with furballs right now so that I donât punch you.â
âThe photos will turn out great. Where else do you want to go after that?â
â...â
âCome on Yama-chan, itâs a date!â
âThen you come up with something, boyfriend.â
âFine. Iâll do just that and make you the prettiest person on Earth, girlfriend.â
a/n: it was intended to be longer, but i could only write until here. idek if anyone would read this. but yay thank you for reading this! iâll come back to writing when i dont have to write academically.
Dark pink wings fluttered on the back of a sleeping figure. He had his face buried into the soft pillows as an attempt to ignore the sunlight streaming into the room. A weight was suddenly dropped onto his back, and Yamada let out a loud groan and broke into a coughing fit. âRise and shine, my friend. Lovely day.â A voice chirped from his back. He didn't need to turn around to know who had woken him up with a body slam.Â
âThere must be a better way to wake me up, Chii.â His voice was muffled by the material of his pillow. He didn't have to look behind his back to know that Chinenâs light pink wings are fluttering in glee. Sometimes he thinks that Chinenâs reason of existing in the world is to torment everyone and anyone.
âCome on, you have things to do, places to be, many events to happen.âÂ
âGet off me.âÂ
âYou wouldn't want to talk like this to me.âÂ
âTry me, I just did.âÂ
The weight on his back disappeared and turning around, Yamada was met with a grin playing on Chinenâs lips. And that has never been a good sign.Â
Since forever.Â
âThen Iâm not going to tell you a news that you have probably waited for eight years.â After saying that, Chinen turned his back and started to walk away. âChii, what did you just -âÂ
Chinenâs grin never faded away. Cackling, he slowly said, âWe might be signing a treaty with The Land of Tooth.âÂ
âYou are saying -âÂ
Before Yamada could continue, Chinen had already cut him off. âYou could probably tag along and hear something about Yuuti after all these years.âÂ
At that moment, Yamada could almost see the world being more brightly coloured than before. Just like when everything was fine. When they were together.Â
TBC
a/n: if you haven't realised it yet, yes it's a fairy AU. Romeo & Juliet style. almost. it's mostly inspired by Chau# because it's like candy land
âWeâll be friends forever?â The voice was high-pitched, just like one would expect from a child. Their chubby hands were held together as tightly as they could. âOf course we will.â
âDonât forget me alright?â
âI wouldnât, Yama-chan.â
ďź1ďź
âYama-chan!â Opening his eyes, Yuto had his right arm raised in front of him. It was as if he was trying to reach out to something. Reach out to someone. Clenching his fist, he rolled to his side while stretching his wings a little.
How long has it been since he had first met Yamada? Too long. He could still remember his friendâs love for strawberries. They would sneak down to the kitchen in the middle of the night to snack, even though Yuto should not be doing that due to his identity. How long has it been since theyâve last met? He pulled his hands up and started to count with his fingers. Six years? Or was it longer? Ten years? He feels that he had lost count. The last time they met, they were at the age of twelve. Now, Yuto sighs, both of them are at the edge of adulthood and marriage.
Twenty.
So, it has been eight years.
A knock on the door cut his train of thoughts. âPrince Yuto, itâs time to wake up.â Following that, the door cracked opened to reveal a smiling Keito. He was dressed in a formal suit, his wings are green when light is reflected on it. With quick steps, he had drawn the curtains up, before walking into the bathroom to prepare the bath. Pulling his blanket away, Yuto got down the bed. Light shined through the windows, casting Yutoâs wings in a light shade of blue. âThe bath has been readied.â Keito stated when he once again appeared in Yutoâs line of sight.
âYou donât have to be this stiff, you know?â A yawn escaped his lips before Yuto scrunched up his face at how formal Keitoâs attitude is. âBut Iâm your butler, prince.â
Crossing his arms, Yuto held back the urge to throw a pillow at him. âYou are first and foremost my friend, Keito.â
Keito was silent for awhile before speaking up again. âThen go and prepare for the day, Yuto.â
âThatâs better.â
âToday youâll have to learn about the process of mining, and Professor Yabu had requested for you to be there as well when he teaches Prince Raiya about The List. In the afternoon, you are scheduled to meet with the Collectors. This month, they have been doing their job well. The teeth we have in our store are also of good quality.â
âThere has been more milk teeth than grown adult teeth?â Yuto asked as he buttoned his shirt. If this was true, it would mean that there would be a better economy for The Land of Tooth. âYes indeed.â
âThe King has also been thinking about signing a treaty with Candy Land.â At the mention of Candy Land, Yuto had flinched. He had not heard about that place for a long time.
Not since the disagreement between these two countries.
The only thing common between these two countries was that they are both fairy populations. Candy Land are made up of sweets fairies, where they specialise in baking, cooking, and improving the quality and tastes of foods. They work as secret helpers during festive seasons throughout the world, in exchange for a little of the food they helped make. As for The Land of Tooth, they are all tooth fairies. They collect milk teeth in general, in exchange for a small price. Adult teeth were also collected, although not much were placed under the pillow. With the milk teeth, minerals and their magic are mined in the labs, and the tooth fairies would then use this to make sure they had perfect dental health.
Both countries were in good terms. It was the very reason why Yuto knew Yamada in the first place. He had visited the Candy Palace when he accompanied his father for a meeting. Under the gumdrop trees in the garden (Yuto never knew sweets grew on trees), he saw a boy of the same age playing with makeshift figures from branches and leaves. That was the first time they met. However, the relationship between these countries went sour. With the increase of sweets consumption, there was a decrease in dental health. Itâs the responsibility of the tooth fairies to protect the teeth of the people, and to see that the cause of most dental problems were the overconsumption of sweets, a majority of the tooth fairies started to see the sweets fairies as their enemies. Within a few years, they had cut diplomatic contacts with them.
i feel like trying my hands on a long fic soon (aka multichaptered). happy ending is a must, but i need to see which plot iâm gonna abuse. and iâm gonna try to update the chapters daily too.
but thatâs after finishing my finals.Â
i need to do some background research as well. huffs puffs.
âArenât you the cutest ev-â The sentence was quickly cut off with a sneeze. Shaking his head, Yamada pushed the box of tissue closer towards a Nakajima Yuto whoâs cuddling his cat and sniffling with all his might. âWill you ever learn, Yuto.â He sighed as he tried to pull Princess away from Yuto.
âBut Princess is the cutest!â Another sneezing fit started.
Pulling Princess close, Yamada stood up and walked towards his room. âCome on Princess , go into the room until this idiot gets out.âÂ
Heâs grateful for Yuto being so friendly with him, even if he had only moved to this apartment building for less than a year. Within a few weeks, Yuto had already decided that they would have dinner together, pooling their grocery money (âWe can save on the utility bill like this.â âIâm only agreeing to your idea because Iâm a very poor man with an unstable work.â).
And the reason why his neighbour Nakajima Yuto had warmed up to him greatly? Princess, his Turkish Angora had captivated this cat-lover.
Who, unfortunately, is allergic to cats.
After putting Princess into his room, Yamada had walked over to his kitchen and poured a cup of water and a pill. âThis helps with allergy, but donât get drowsy in here.â Yamada said as he handed Yuto the medication.
âThank you, Yama-chan.â Sniffs.
Pulling a feline-shaped cushion closer, Yuto lied down on the couch. âI told you to go back to your apartment!â
âBut Iâm still having an allergy reaction. Iâm supposed to be a patient, Yama-chan.â
âTell me again when you have a fever. Go back now.â
âYama-chan~â
Another cushion was thrown into Yutoâs face before Yamada stood up. âYama-chan?â
âShut up. I need to clean up the room from Princessâs fur or youâll start having a sneezing fit again.â Yuto couldnât see Yamadaâs face as he tried to pull the vacuum out of itâs storage. Hiding his smile behind the cushion, Yuto mumbled, âI knew you wouldnât chase me out.â
âTry me again, Nakajima.â

a/n: i am upset. what else can i do than to channel all my sadness. mention me on twitter if you want to know what inspired this because itâs a major spoiler for a series.
the first time it happened, it had shocked him. they were twenty, he has known yuto for close to 8 years. on the day of his birthday, yamada had happily arrived at the nakajima household. he didnât understand the sadness when mrs. nakajima answered the door. he didnât understand why raiya was stopping him from going up to meet yuto.Â
yamada ryosuke didnât understand.Â
âyou should listen to us for a bit, yama-nii.â raiya had plead, as he pushed yamada to sit down on the sofa. âwhat is it? you didnât tell yuto about me coming to surprise him on his birthday, did you?â yamada had frowned a little, ready to scold the younger boy before he saw sadness in raiyaâs eyes.
ânii-chan forgot everything.â
raiyaâs sentence felt like a gust of cold wind, and yamadaâs fingers felt cold. âha, what do you ... mean.â the sentence trailed off, and raiya hung his head low.Â
âitâs a genetic disorder. his memories resets every ten years. the first time it happened was when nii-chan was ten.â
âso you mean, he ...â
ânii-chan donât remember who you are, yama-nii. or who you are to him.â
âyou are ...?â yuto was sitting on his bed when yamada entered his room. âa friend.â yamada cringes a little at that word (no, iâm your boyfriend, he wants to say. but he didnât want to scare yuto away). âhere, this is a birthday present.â
âthank you ...?â
âyamada ryosuke.âÂ
yuto looks into his eyes, and stood up to get closer to him. he felt fingers brushing the corner of his eye, and he realises he was crying. âdonât cry, yamada-san. i donât like to see you cry.â
maybe. just maybe, the yuto that he knows was there.

The rain was matting their hair down, and Yuto pulled the shorter man closer. He could still hear soft sobs coming from Yamada, and Yuto could only lead him through the rain back to the base.Â
When they reached the base, Yuto had quickly manoeuvred them both back to their shared room (he knows no one will approach them. At least not now). Pulling a towel, he began to work through Yamadaâs damp hair.Â

Coco was curled up on the floor, moving there in the middle of the night since Ryutaro wouldnât stop moving and sleep (like he should be, he shouldnât be up at 4 am in the morning. it is an ungodly hour). This wasnât the first time insomnia sets in while heâs here alone. His phoneâs notification rang, signalling a LINE message.
[Keito: Pretty sure you are asleep at this point, but when you see this, good morning and have a good day.]
Ryutaro pulled his knees up close to his chest, curling up and pulling his blanket closer, hugging his bolster tighter. In the dark, he presses the application, and a sticker of Moonâs exclaimed face came up in the chat.Â
âDonât fuck with me,â Ryutaro snarled, pistol in hand, his index finger wrapped around the trigger. Chinen on the ground, hand placed on his arm, trying to stop the bleed (Ryutaro would nag at him for being dumb this blue moon for fighting empty handed in a hand-to-hand fight with an armed robber). The robber had run, but it wasnât fast enough to dodge the bullet that lodge into his upper thigh; the robber fell and Ryutaro had quickly cuffed his wrists, âThatâs what you get for injuring my partner and increasing my workload while he recovers.â

âYama-chan!â Yutoâs voice echoed through the corridor as he speed-walked, trying to chase after a fuming Yamada Ryosuke. âIâm done talking. Stop following me.âÂ
âYou need to calm down.â He could hear Yamada scoff, and Yuto increased his speed, easily catching up with the older man. His hand was only shrugged off when he reached out to touch Yamadaâs shoulder.Â
âI am perfectly calm and will not talk to you, Nakajima.â Before Yamada manage to increase the distance between them, Yuto pulled him to the side, pushing Yamada up against a wall, his hands holding onto Yamadaâs shoulders so the older man wouldnât walk away again.Â
âLet go.â
Yuto shook his head, his grips tightening on Yamadaâs shoulder. âThere is nothing between us. Chinen and I have nothing.â He could see Yamadaâs eyebrows knitting together. He could see how Yamadaâs cold façade was breaking off, hurt peeking out from behind it. âYama-chan,â Yuto started again, only to be cut off by Yamada, âIf there was nothing, please explain what I just saw.â
Yamada had bitterly laughed as he felt Yuto froze. Tipping toes, he brushed Yutoâs bangs away, âTry again when you can get a better explanation. Or better yet, try not to get caught if you are going to bring someone to our apartment.â A chaste kiss was placed on Yutoâs lips, before Yamada pushed the taller man away.
âWe are done, Yuto. Iâll stay at Dai-chanâs today,â was the last thing Yamada said before he disappear at the turn of the corridor.Â

summary: in which yamada obsessively names things
a/n: this came up when I thought how he even names his cactus âstephenâ
he has always named things. maybe to the point of obsession. yamada thinks deeply about the names of his pets. it had annoyed him when his sister had just randomly named their terrapins (âthink about their names more! they are different!â âhow am I suppose to differentiate them? talk tortoise or what?â). he even named his cactus 'stephenâ. everything should have a name, even more so if it is important.
it is like how feelings have names. when your cheek muscles pull up and you feel light, itâs named happy. when you feel like everything is monochrome and it should just rain, itâs named sad. the fluttering of your heart when you see someone, stomach filled with butterflies and guts tied, itâs named love.
yamada never thought that this would interfere with his life, at least not until he found a need to name all of yutoâs cameras and lenses.
âyou should name them.â yamada gingerly took a camera into his hands, noticing how clean the device is even though he hardly sees yuto bringing this particular one out.
âexcuse me?â looking up from the camera he is holding now, yutoâs face showed that he was confused. âyou should name your cameras, yuto.â yamada simply said. âand lenses while you are at it.â he added thoughtfully.
âyama-chan, are you alright?â
âiâm perfectly fine, yuto. important things should have a name right? they are important, so they should deserve a name of their own.â
âtechnically, they do have one?â
yamadaâs eyes lit up, âreally? so what is the name of this?â he held the camera that was in his hands up.
âolympus pen e-pm1.â yuto said without batting an eyelid.
ânames should be filled with love.â yamada looked down at the device for a little. âmaybe something like rinrin, or kuro. like how youâd name your dogs.â
âor like 'yama-chanâ?â yuto teasingly asked.
âexactly! they should be unique!â yamada exclaimed, nodding before he stopped.
'like 'yama-chanââ
âmy nickname for you is filled with love.â yuto blew a kiss to yamadaâs direction before he continued fiddling with his camera. âbut to think of names for all my cameras though. help me come up with some.â
âI can help you name them?â
âyeap. and itâll be like naming our kids.â yamadaâs face was flushed and yuto had to stop him from throwing his olympus camera out of the window.

a/n: i just figured i should write something, and because i was spazzing over this a few nights before.
from the corner of his eyes, he could see how flustered she was. daiki doesnât know if it was from laughing, or from the embarrassment when she confessed him outright on national tv.Â
âcan both of you not confess with me stuck in the middle?â
daiki could only laugh nervously at the side, thankful for yamadaâs intervention. the interview continued, as they continued to promote the kindaichi special. even so, he feels hypersensitive to his surrounding now.Â
and daikiâs highly aware that harunaâs ears were still flushed red.
âyou shouldnât say such jokes on tv, haruna-chan.â daiki started. yamada was lingering behind them, with the proper distance so they could talk. biting her lips, haruna looked at daiki nervously, âwhat if ... iâm not joking?â a nervous laugh followed, and daiki notes how she was twirling her thumbs (through the filming process, he learnt that it was a habit she does when sheâs nervous).Â
âiâm shorter than you, haruna-chan.â
âwhat does it have to do with your height, arioka-san?â haruna looked shocked and daiki could feel his cheeks burn up. âiâm an idol, and a johnny at that.â
he didnât know what he expected, but daiki didnât expect haruna to smile at him. âi know that. itâll be nice just for you to know, arioka-san. we are in this industry after all.â they had stopped to talk at the side, and daiki saw yamada walking pass them from behind haruna. their eyes met, and yamada shrugged before mouthing âdo what you want, iâm not tellingâ.
of course, yamada was a good friend when it comes to such things.Â
âif you donât mind, then. we can start from being friends? maybe a little more,â daiki trailed off as he scratched his cheek. âlike, mailing each other?â
âi donât mind,â when he saw harunaâs smile, daiki realises what he likes about her. he just wants to see her smile.Â

summary: of unrequited love and late realisations
a/n: a longer version of my tweetfic. never leave me alone to my own devices that will lead me to over-think.
it wasn't like he is into guys. yamada knows he isn't stereotypically straight (then again, he grew up in johnny's and straight was probably the furthest thing everyone is in the company). he wasn't gay, he doesn't check out guys all the time. he appreciates boobs, butts, and legs. if he was asked if he wants to hold or wants to be held, yamada would answer he wants to hold. it was politically correct, and not that far away from the fact.
it was politically correct, but there was an exception. the thought of being held by none other than nakajima yuto plague his mind. maybe it was the legs that looks really good in jeans. or that ass. it led yamada to constantly question his sexuality. the thought of those strong arms, trained by playing the drums, wrapping around him as they cuddle. those lips pressing soft kisses onto his skin. rough finger tips, due to playing the guitar, gliding across his chest.
"ah, how doomed am I?" curling up on himself, he aimed the waddle of tissue into the bin.
"you look horrible." chinen casually commented at his eye bags. he couldn't say anything, but to smile weakly in return. "i've seen better days, yes." pulling a pillow, yamada covered his face and curled in more. chinen doesn't need a host in his house, it was unofficially chinen's anyway ("your things are mine, and my things are mine," chinen once said as he took yamada's wallet once). he could feel his bed sinking at chinen's weight, but he wasn't moving.
"this is something i usually don't do but," he can feel the younger boy's hand stroking his hair, something so foreign yet soothing, "do you want to talk about it?"
"you know what's happening, chii."
"better for you to tell me,"
sighing, yamada peeked out from behind the pillow, "the pain of an unrequited love for someone who probably hates my guts." raising an eyebrow, chinen smirked, "i appreciate your feelings, but i definitely don't hate you." a pillow immediately connected to his face, and chinen was still smiling when it dropped onto his lap. yamada was frowning, ears red.
"you know very well what i'm talking about, chii."
"of course it is yuto. it has always been yutti."
silence feel in between them, before chinen spoke up again. "both of you should definitely talk."
"tell me that again when he doesn't casually flirts with me as a friend, but when there is a possibility that he is attracted to someone as unattractive as me, and a guy to boot."
"you are seriously saying that?" yamada nodded. chinen had literally tried to choke yamada with the pillow, "you, who is the most popular idol right now, is unattractive? apologise to all your fans right now."
"that is an act." it was muffled and yamada tried to kick chinen off the bed.
"fair enough," he released the pillow before sitting on the floor. "but you should still talk to him. maybe it'll all be different."
"yuto, you shouldn't be sleeping here." he shook the younger man. yuto just continued sleeping on the couch, not moving. how long has it been since he realised his unrequited love for this man? chuckling a little, yamada remembers his angst-filled high school days. he pushed yuto's bangs to the side, "you're going to get a cold sleeping here."
sighing at how yuto isn't budging, yamada bent down and scooped the taller man into his arms, carrying him bridal style. "so much for being held," he whispered under his breath as he tried to maneuver to his room with an overgrown human being (he swears nakajima yuto is literally still growing even after their twenties).
he had almost drop yuto, but he managed to make it to his room and place yuto onto the futon that they have laid out before. looking at this calm face, yamada couldn't help but smile.
things are a lot more different from before. yamada tried to push his affections for yuto out of his mind, opting to live for the present as he starts to casually flirts back (friendly-style). there were only sometimes where his mind would drift back. when he was all alone, and times like now. kneeling on the floor, yamada slowly leaned down and placed a kiss softly on yuto's forehead.
"i'll probably be stuck in this for life." yamada whispered. "then again, it might always have been like this.
"yama-chan," yuto had bodily lie on him, an attempt to wake him up. "yutti, it's too early." it came out as a mumble, as yamada tried to turn to the side (which totally didn't happen because yuto was ON him).
it was silent for a moment before yuto kissed yamada's cheek sloppily. "good morning kiss! we shouldn't waste a nice day away."Â
ânakajima yuto! what are you doing!?â yamada had pushed yutoâs face away while laughing. he was still under yuto, unable to move an inch (he had recently found out that the younger manâs physical strength powered up after the variety of sports he did for dramas, through jumparty). yuto was looking at him with a thoughtful look, and yamada could feel his face heat up (he had a mental mantra of âplease donât blushâ going on).Â
âhave you ever thought about kissing a guy before, yama-chan?â yamada could only blink at yutoâs question. what made him ask this? it canât be that he knows, right? lifting his hand, yamada ruffled yutoâs bed head while laughing, âare you still dreaming?â
âhave you, yama-chan?â
frowning a little, yamada pulled on yutoâs cheeks. âare you asking if iâm straight? why are we talking about sexuality here?â yuto had pouted, or attempted to pout with his cheeks still stretched. when yamada released his cheeks, yuto had buried his head in yamadaâs shoulder, lips almost grazing his neck. yamada had to bite down a full body shiver, as he force himself not to remember about the things his mind conjures up at times when he desperately needed release. âthis is weird,â he could feel yuto breathing down his neck, and he stiffened a little. âthere are times were i want to kiss you, yama-chan. not like friendly kisses,â yuto had paused, as if trying to find words, and yamada didnât move.
âi want to pin you down and kiss you. with tongues.â and as if like an afterthought, yuto continued, âand maybe a lot more touches too.â
both of them didnât move. yamada didnât think he was hearing things correctly. yuto didnât know if he was going to get slugged (or if yamadaâs disgusted about what he had just said).Â
âthen you should do it. youâve got step one done.â it only came out as a whisper. lifting his head, yuto looked at how yamadaâs face was flushed red and tilted to the side, refusing to look at yuto.
âyama-chan?â
âi might not be as straight as you think i am.â he was biting his lips, as he sneaked a peek from the side of his eyes at yuto. he had tentatively leaned in, sucking at the bottom of yamadaâs lip so that he would stop biting it. their lips meet again, this time yamada nervously pulled his tongue across yutoâs lip, but quickly pulled back.Â
their kiss was slow, as if trying to test waters. as if trying to see if this was real, and not a dream. the kiss grew stronger, firmer, filled with more confidence, passion, needs, and wants. tongues clashed, and teeth slowly grazed the otherâs lips, teasingly nibbling and sucking.Â
slowly pulling apart, yuto rested his forehead on yamadaâs as both of them panted softly. âsince when?â the question escaped yutoâs lips in a mere whisper, and yamada closed his eyes.
âhigh school? when you were friendly-flirting with everyone which includes me.â
âthat long?â
âprobably longer for all i know. doesnât mean that iâm gay.â
âgay for me then.â yuto had a smirk playing on his lips, and yamada couldnât help but slap him on his head. âfair enough. now we are awake, what is it about not wasting a beautiful day away?âÂ
âthat was before we know that we arenât as straight as we think we are.â
âit is still a nice day and we should be up for breakfast.â yamada had pushed yuto up lightly. he was pulling his blanket away, and before he stood up, he placed a kiss on yutoâs forehead. âand after that we can plan our itinerary of the day together.â
âi like it when you kiss me on the forehead, yama-chan. and carrying me bridal style.â yamada had turned around in shock, face flushed in embarrassment.
âYOU WERE AWAKE?â
âi was getting princess treatment! of course i didnât want to miss anything.â a pillow collided with yutoâs head as he left out an âomfâ.
âiâm leaving you to sleep on the couch the next time you do that.â
