At a later date, he might attempt to blame his actions upon the spring coming through the demonic forest they had taken camp in for the night. All he knew was, he couldn’t keep his eyes from the fox-woman long at all. And with Jaken and Rin both asleep, he found his self control waning faster than he’d ever experienced before. Raising to his feet smoothly, silently, the daiyokai moved over just as quietly to stand behind Kettu.

The redhead was working on some herb of some sort, something soft scented with just a hint of spice. But he could still smell her through it. Her hair had been gathered in a simple braid to be kept out of her way, but he found himself taking advantage of that as he sank to his knees behind her. Arm slipping around her waist to keep her from moving away, he drug his lips lightly up the side of her neck. 

Keeping his lips pressed to her soft skin, golden eyes flickered shut as he tilted his head to drag them back to brush over the base of her neck, teasing over her spine lightly. Lips parting, he scraped his teeth ever so gently over the same spot, feeling the shape of her vertebra. He had never before experienced a desire that edged so closely to a need.

Rin looked up from their campfire, too carefree to worry about preserving the silence. "My Lord... Have you ever been in love?" She had recently turned thirteen, and was beginning to notice boys a little differently.

Having been half snoozing where he was leaned against a tree, Sesshomaru’s golden eyes snapped open sharply when his human ward started suddenly talking. He happily ignored Jaken, but Rin he was willing to offer his attention to. “I have not.” His father had made him court a few Inu-bitches before he had died, not that any lasted longer than a few chaperoned dates. And then at least one was only alive because of their chaperone. So he’d taken to travelling and figured one day he would find a mate. He simply hadn’t managed to do so yet. “Why, Rin? Do you believe you’re in love?” Not that they spent much time among humans for her to fall for.

I'm sorry that it took so long to get back online. I was eaten alive by mosquitos and came home to a sink full of dishes as my uncle can't be bothered to do a goddamn thing around this house unless it suits him and his wants. So I spent most the day yesterday cleaning up and doing dishes and such because I promised Ma she wouldn't get home from the family reunion to dishes. So I did them before she could get home.But I'm back now. Working on gathering all the replies I owe on the different active blogs and trying to do some things. Feel free to come talk to me if you like and we can plot or chat or anything.

33. Concept of home and family?

Sesshomaru struggles with both concepts.

His family was destroyed by his father breaking the bond with Sesshomaru’s mother, and then his father died for a human and her whelp. While he still sees his mother at least somewhat regularly, he is not as close to her as he might have been had Inu no Taisho kept them together as a Pack/Family. Now he has Jaken (whom he simply cannot be rid of since he saved the imp’s life) and Rin (whom he cares deeply for though he does not quite understand why). Beyond that, he struggles.

As for home, his concept of such is even more broken. His mother was not kicked out of his father’s castle, but she left when he broke their bonding for she would not stick around to be seen as some kind of whore. With her gone, the castle seemed less like home. Even with the stewards, he could not feel relaxed within it’s walls. When Inu no Taisho took another mate, this one human, and then gave his life for her and her whelp, Sesshomaru left the castle behind. It was now his by birthright, the western lands his to claim. Which he did, laying his own mark over his father’s along the borders of the western lands before he took to wandering, trusting the demons whom had helped raised him to keep lands and castle alike safe. But it has left him with no real home to speak of. He wanders, Ah-Un, and Jaken companions for years. Only in Rin can he claim an ability to relax. With the child near, he feels as if he is home again, a whole pack again, wherever he is.

21. Turn-ons? Turn-offs?

He needs to know his partner wants him as well. Whether that be them being unable to stop touching/kissing him or clawing at him wanting him closer.

His mate must be strong. He would not be able to handle a mate that he constantly must protect from everything.

8. Favorite indulgence and feelings surrounding indulging

He sees indulgence as a human thing for the most part. There are times that one’s basic needs can cross the line into indulgence to a degree (i.e. soaking in a hot spring while washing away blood and/or grime). But for Rin’s sake, he allows some indulgences such as her passion for picking flowers or a fire at night for the dark scares her.

35. What activities do they enjoy, but consider to be a waste of time?

Soaking in a hot spring. Technically, it is a waste of time. But a natural spring will draw his attention rather easily. He enjoys the heated water and the relaxation it allows within his muscles.

1. What does their bedroom look like?

For a Youkai with his prestige, Sesshomaru’s room is surprisingly basic. He kept his father’s castle, partly at the behest of his mother, but has refused to accept the Lord’s quarters. Instead he took a simple set of rooms near a sand garden so that he might watch the way the winds move them at night. He has a simple bed, or as simple as the castle stewards would allow since it is on a slightly raised dais, that he keeps covered with a simple white blanket and black sheets. The paper on the walls and doors have his father’s crest along with the mountain range that blocked the castle from human sight. He has a simple closet set within the walls that holds his robes and weapons. Other than that, the room is clear. He considers himself to have no real earthly possessions beyond what he carries on his body daily.
