TEO REALLY WASN'T TRYING to be rude. Truly. He wasn't the type to eavesdrop on anyone's conversation ( unless they were carelessly chattering about his store and putting their own drama on blast ). Outside of that? Mateo really minded his own business. It was just the type of guy he was. Yet, there was only so much minding his business that Teo could do when someone was having a phone chat right in the middle of Sweet Stuff Bakery on a beautiful weekend morning.
He sipped at his coffee. Tried to focus on his newspaper. Posted to his Instagram. Maybe snapped a few friends about the nerve this person had. And finally? When the call ended ended, Teo couldn't help himself. He leaned over his chair and lifted his brows. "Look, I'm not trying to get involved, but honestly? Whatever all that was about, it's really not worth all the fuss."
"I'm barely on my second coffee but I feel like I need to switch to mimosas. Your friend give you any good advice?" Was it a little catty? It depended. Was he sorry? Not one bit.
