Being

I love being me. I love being. I get to feel and experience the things around me. I get to make friends and do whatever I put my mind to. I have to power to make what I want happen. I can only do that If I can be. I can only do as much as I have if I’m breathing, if I’m waking, if I’m embracing myself the purest, most honest form of myself. I can only do this if I remember that I, and the rest of us, are human; are being. Just like me.

What am I doing wrong? It was supposed to be you and me for the rest of time. Us, hand in hand, as we face whatever challenges come our way. But here you are. You’re back facing me as I sit on my knees in desperation, begging you to reconsider and think about it more. A life with me, being able to see you everyday, being the one that makes you smile. What am I doing wrong?

To forever be in someone’s shadow, a pure imitation, the copy, is painful. To always be lesser than what came before you. An existence of painful reminders of how you’re nothing more than a creation of another person’s image. A robotic copy of what you were supposed to be, the original staring you in the face as if they’re superior to what should’ve been better. One day they will pay and I will be the original. I will end my suffering and you will go into the books as the inspiration
