the hardest part of watching campaign 1 for me is that i just hate the way marisha is treated 😭

as someone who started with campaign 2 (and is all caught up on 4) and absolutely adores the way she plays in both of those campaigns, it just sucks watching her get talked down to more than the others. she’s not the only one who is newer to the game and is still learning but a lot of the time when she makes a mistake she gets treated like she’s dumb and it is just hard for me to watch and enjoy because of that and i think it’s why i’m struggling a lot more with this campaign than the other two i’ve watched so far

and i know a big factor in it is that they didn’t want it to seem like she was getting special treatment for being the DMs girlfriend, but it just feels like it’s swinging too far in the other direction. i hope it gets better soon (i’m on ep 52)

and this is in NO WAY an attack on the other players or matt, it’s just something i can’t unsee now that i’ve noticed and i know for a fact ill be skipping certain episodes when i eventually rewatch because of it

It's SO interesting watching Marisha in C1 in comparison with later campaigns. She was so, so young at the time. Watching the more recent campaigns, the age difference is really not even noticeable, but the difference between mid 20s and mid 30s is huge and she was in a group of all older, more established actors. She was just as smart and talented, but her energy just felt so much younger than the rest of the cast sometimes and there are times when you can feel that tension on both sides while watching. While there are moment that are hard to watch, I think watching her grow from this little ball of creativity and intelligence just trembling with potential to the absolute FORCE she is today is such a lovely inspirational journey we've all been so lucky to be privy too. Especially considering the amount of abuse she got from the fandom early on, the way fans lose their ever loving shit over a single pic of her on instagram or a glimpse of Laudna on TLOVM brings me SO much joy, she really deserves it more than anyone IMO.
