Heh, I really should have thought ahead on how I was going to do color-in the jacket and skirt.  I noticed last-minute that it’d be hard to see the lines when they’re colored-in, and tried to do what THEY do.  Only really worked on the hair.

I'm pretty new here, so I don't have a lot of experience. But honestly, your illustrations are pretty damn good as-is. As far as backgrounds, you could just throw-on some basic gradients or copy background from another piece. Not like copy/paste, but actually try and re-draw it yourself. You'll get a usable background, and some solid practice out of it too.

I really enjoy seeing your art, but for things to work on perhaps trying more dynamic poses and play with dramatic lighting. As for backgrounds I find doing studies from photos and life really help, but they can seem pretty overwhelming too, so picking simple backgrounds to start and breaking it down into sections can help. Also not worrying about every detail and making sure everything looks exactly as it should be, like trees for example, and instead just doing the general shapes of things.

my drawings are boring i should learn to do backgrounds or something i dont know my drawings dont look like finished pieces 

its all just a character (who is nicely drawn i guess) with a white background like im scrolling through my instagram looking at my own art and its so dulllll i need to up my game

anyone got any feedback on how i can improve? negative or positive let me hear it
