[Dick falters, eyebrows knitting together in confusion as Tim side steps his hello, borderline repulsed. So his gut feeling had been correct after all. Disconcerted, he shifts back and examines him speculatively.]
… Not particularly.
So, what? You’re Tim with an attitude?
Do I look like some kind of duplicated little bastard child of your brother? T’ch. -Tim rolls his eyes, dropping his hands back down to his hips in an unimpressed stance.-
I am Timothy Jackson-Drake Al-ghul— The real Timothy. But you;
-His eyes trail up Dick’s body, cold and calculating as before.- You’re not a bad replacement either.
Al Ghul? [He’s struck speechless for a moment, watching Tim with rounded eyes.] Like, Ra’s? Are you serious?
What could have possibly fueled you to take his last name? Let alone trust him. He’s dangerous, Tim. More than dangerous.
[Dick pauses.] Replacement?
-Tim pauses for a moment, a chill running through his bones as he's forced to remember why he took the Al Ghul name, and what had happened to his family. He sucks in a shallow breath and cranes his neck to look away from Dick, and all of the memories he brings along with him.-
We're strangers, you and I. From two completely different realities-- It's a miracle in itself that we've even crossed paths like this, you know.
-A pale finger comes up to tap at his chin, thoughtful.- You're not the brother I lost, nor am I yours. You are not the bat I was sent to kill, and I am not a villain you are meant to capture.
Funny how things work out like that.
