"I know exactly what I'm asking for." She replied with a smirk - she didn't need to be careful, if anything, Phoebe felt like she needed to be more suggestive. All these close interactions with Jodie reminded her of what they had once upon a time. Her breathing quickened for a moment when their bodies were pressed together - being so close to Jodie was dangerous, but it felt amazing. Maybe their cycle of breaking up and getting back together wasn't completely over - in the few minutes they had been dancing, Phoebe felt her heart rate increase. "Because I was honest with you - so you should be honest with me." Her eyes narrowed slightly at the older woman - with the non-answer she was getting, the blonde felt like she had gotten her answer. "Why aren't you telling me?" She challenged, feeling her heart drop slightly at the scoff. "I think I can bring her into it - the perk of being a parent - using your children against people." Phoebe studied Jodie for a moment - her eyes settling on her lips - all she wanted to do was kiss her. With all the people around, she knew that word would spread about what they were doing in the middle of the dance floor - and despite recent appearances, Phoebe didn't really want people gossiping about her life. "I do?" She asked with an arched brow, knowing exactly what Jodie was alluding to. Bringing her hand up, Phoebe linked their fingers together. Once they were in the bathroom, Phoebe didn't bother to check if anyone else was around before she turned towards the actress. "Hi." She whispered, reaching up and pressing their lips together. The singers hand came up to rest on the other womans cheek.
"pheebs, what does it actually matter if i fucked someone else or not whilst we've been apart? you've let me know you absolutely without a doubt have, what's the mystery matter hm?" jodie emphasized, lips pursed as she listened to her go on, shrugging her shoulders as she followed her trail into the bathroom. her hand caressed down the back of her neck, onto the back of her midnight blue gown, grazing across what bit of skin she could reach as she followed her in. she moved forward the moment they were in the slightly more private space, hand skimming down her side protectively. "you look so fucking gorgeous, sweet thing," breathed out the blonde, as if she'd been holding the admittance back all evening, mouth only lingering from hers long enough to take a breath before her lips crashed onto hers. a quiet groan left her lips, and she blindly shoved the musician into a stall.
"Make me." Phoebe automatically replied - knowing that it would be a challenge for her ex, and that she was once again, playing with fire. As she was dipped down, a small laugh escaped her as she wasn't expecting that move, so her eyes went wide for a moment. "Warn a girl." The musician muttered - even if she was enjoying the intimacy of the moment. The blonde rolled her eyes at Jodies question and shook her head. "I'm not the stalker in this relationship." She teased lightly - even if Jodie had no choice in what popped up on her instagram explore page. "But I figured you would tell me - have you done anything with someone while we've been broke up?" She didn't know if she wanted to know the answer to that - but since the question was out in the open, and she had been honest with the other woman about her own life, Phoebe thought it was only fair to ask the question. "I think your taste is perfectly fine. I mean, you are in love with me." A grin played on her lips - Phoebe was aware Jodie was meaning that she didn't have taste, considering her choices, but it was fun to flip the script back on her. "You wanna spend time with me? Mhm...." The American trailed off, pretending to think of a moment. "If you want to come back to LA. Maxine misses you." Using her dog as an excuse wasn't something she was above doing.
jodie's blood drummed to the surface, a flush rising from her neck up to her cheeks the moment she heard the musician utter the suggestive, daring comment. "you gotta be more careful what you ask for, pheebs." she said, voice dropping an octave, tongue swiping over her bottom lip at the other's words. a soft hum left her lips as she watched her come back to herself after dipping her body forward, easily gaining the upper hand as she drew phoebe forward, making her body press flush against her own as her brows furrowed with curiosity at the question that slid from the other's lips. "now, why in the world would i answer that?" she asked, sounding incredulous, albeit a slight smirk showed up after a second. "if you're not the jealous stalker in this relationship, why would you care?" she uttered, and then scoffed at the suggestion of her being in love with the younger woman. bold as always, pheebs. "you know you can't bring my stepchild into this. that little raisin looks up at me with those boba eyes and i absolutely fucking melt. fuck." she said, shaking her head in disbelief, and keeping her eyes steady on hers, unblinking, as she clamped her teeth down onto her own bottom lip, musing over her own actions for no more than a second. "since you're not going to behave -- i need to go to the loo. i reckon you do as well." her hand was already wrapping around her wrist, and tugging her off the dance floor towards the toilets.

a soft coo left jodie's lips, and she squeezed her arm around hers to hug her close. "you're far too sweet, you know that? you having me around means loads."
"Well, I still get to dance with the most beautiful person in the room, so I'd say pretty well." She knew that she was laying it on thick with that compliment - but Phoebe had always found Jodie beautiful. "You should, cause assuming only gets you all worked up. Although if it gets really bad, I know a way to help you unwind." The musician teased, once again pushing the limits between the pair of them. As she spun around - Phoebe was glad that she asked the other woman to dance - it felt good to feel a little carefree around her. Closing her eyes as Jodie whispered in her ear - it prevented her from rolling them. "Well, just cause it's private doesn't mean I won't get jealous." The singer moved her hand slowly down Jodies front, if she was going to get teased, then she was going to give it right back. Her fingers brushed along the other womans side, settling on her waist. "You think so? Can get the same alcohol there. And London doesn't have me there." A grin played on her lips once again - Phoebe was trying to bait Jodie into admitting that LA was better, even if she could turn around and use the same argument on her. "Well, what do you have planned for the weekend, then?" She didn't want to impose on whatever Jodie had planned - the idea of spending the weekend in New York was suddenly appealing to Phoebe, she was planning to just go straight back home after the ball. "Nope. Just been doing my thing at home. Creating music when the mood strikes." She didn't want to mention that a lot of the songs she'd been creating were about their latest break up - a air of sadness always seemed to surround whatever she created. Maybe one day, she'd be able to create happier songs.
"behave." her tone was smooth but stern as always, hand squeezing phoebe's waist to tug her closer to herself with a quiet laugh, then dramatically dipping the smaller woman as they danced. her hold was firm, but tender -- with practised ease and evident adoration written across the englishwoman's features. a soft huff left her lips at the admittance of jealousy, sighing and toying with the back of her dress, shaking her head with amusement clear in her hazel hues. "how would you have any idea what goes on behind closed doors, pheebs? or you finally owning up to being a tiny bit of a stalker huh?" she asked, voice teasing, smile giving way to a roll of her eyes at the mention of phoebe evidently not being in london. "not my fault that you prefer erewhon to borough market, darling, not all of us can have taste." then, a soft hum left her lips in consideration, musing over the thought of the rest of the weekend. "depends. can i book you for the next 48 hours or have you got prior plans you need to attend to, blondie?" she'd never been the best at beating around the bush, admittedly.
"I'm trying this whole thing of not just assuming things, baby." The pet name slipped out easier than Phoebe would like to admit. Being so close to Jodie, Phoebe closed her eyes and tried to enjoy the moment. Maybe there was a moment where they could ignore everything going on around them - pretend that everything was okay, that it was them against the world all over again. The blonde couldn't help but roll her eyes at Jodies comment - she may have been able to play it cool from time to time, hide it a little better (Phoebe guessed she was a better actress than she ever gave herself credit for.) "When you're doing your job and kissing people, sure. Outside of that? Nope." Her nose crinkled as she thought about the possibility of someone else kissing the older woman. One of her hands moved down slightly, to rest on her chest - hoping that Jodie wouldn't get the completely wrong idea, she just wanted to feel the comfort of the moment. "When isn't the weather in England hellish? One of the many reasons I don't wanna live there permanently. At least in LA you get sun. How long are you planning to stay Stateside, mhm?" As the question was reflected back to her, Phoebe arched her brow. "Thought we'd have a moment of focusing on you. But I'm good. Well, okay. You know - nothing to complain about."
"how's not assuming things been going for you? i should probably take a page out of your book for that." she said with a shrug of her shoulders. in the moment, it hardly seemed like jodie was the same person who'd glared daggers at phoebe's recent romantic liaison in the eyes of the media. rather, the taller blonde seemed completely at ease, as if she didn't have a care in the world. perhaps it was the few glasses of champagne rushing through her system, or the warmth of phoebe's hand on her chest, or merely well-rehearsed mannerisms from an actress as she twirled her under her arm, then drew her body close to herself once more, using the excuse of the dance move to put her mouth to the other's ear. "you've got nothing to be jealous about since i like to keep my private life private, phoebe." said jodie, her voice admittedly lower, stern, lips brushing over phoebe's ear so she could hear her over the music, then pressing her lips to her earlobe in a firm yet tender little kiss. then, she drew back, a dry snicker leaving her lips. "don't shit on london, we've got better alcohol than la does. oh, just for the weekend. nothing to complain about doesn't sound too good, nothing to celebrate either??"
