Was she this nervous? She wasn’t acting different, precisely—or she was trying very hard not to act different—but he could tell that Tessa was somewhat anxious. Then she kissed him, and he responded, pulling her closer. ”I guess that means I have to give you an answer, right? Even though you haven’t actually said anything with a question mark at the end of it,” he teased, brushing a strand of hair out of her eyes.

Tessa looked at him once more, her wide eyes finding his. She sighed and nodded knowing what he wanted. "Will you go out with me?" She finally asked and bit down on her own bottom lip. She feared the answer, and begged for it all at once. Either way, when they woke up in the morning, she'd want him and she was sure he'd want her too.

Xander merely waited for her to sleep, avoiding speculation. Tessa was, always, a surprise, and he couldn’t predict what she was going to say, so it was better not to try. ”You have too much faith in my mindreading ability,” he joked. Her next words were harder to decipher, though, and unlike the things she said before, he didn’t want to deliberately misinterpret them because it was amusing. ”Tessa Coin,” he reached out and tilted her chin up to make eye contact. “Are you asking me out?”

Tessa couldn't help but look up at him. Mostly because he forced her too, but once her eyes caught sight of his face she couldn't look away. There were nerves running through her and a sickness in her stomach that should could not relate to anything that she had felt before. "Asking you out?" She repeated aloud and she pressed her lips, her body to him slowly. It was automatic, and weird how she did it. "Yeah, Alex. I guess I am asking you out." she said smirking slightly.
