“I think it’s in the portfolio… can’t really remember though.” Ty explained and listened to what Tessa was saying… and asking. “It went from goofing around with my friends polaroid to being picked up by a scout. That got me started and the rest is history. Playing with the polaroid helped me build confidence.”
“When you get in front of the camera, after a while your confidence builds. Think of it like swimming, if you don’t know how to swim, you are nervous about getting in the water and you panic as soon as you sink. You start using floats, and get more confident, before you know it you’ve lost the floats and are comfortably swimming laps.” Ty explained, quite proud of that analogy.

Tessa tilted her head thoughtfully, a doubtful expression on her face. “I can see how that might be helpful... but what if you just hate the water?” she countered, and then laughed softly. That was probably extending Ty’s metaphor just a little too far, if she was being honest. “I don’t think I’d even want to get comfortable with being the center of attention like that -- nothing good ever seems to come of people paying much attention to me. I’d much rather watch other people like yourself take the focus, especially when it’s something you’re so very good at, obviously,” she added, gesturing toward the billboard once more.
