Former South African president who was imprisoned 27 years for anti-apartheid activism (forced segregation on the basis of race) and lead Africa into a new era has died today at age 95 reports the Huffington Post.
Among his accomplishments include winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993. One year later, South Africa elected him as its first black president. You can read more about his accomplishments here at this BBC article.
