He squints slightly, before looking back at the console, and putting his hands into his pockets; “So you’re an alien who travels around in time and space. Obviously having adventures along the way, but your also lonely. Let’s not get into that right now, however, considering you probably don’t like to dwell on it. You also pick up people too, I believe, considering after all this time travelling by yourself it gets boring. I know from personal experience that it’s good to have a friend you can impress all the time. And that’s exactly what you do. Impress.” He turned to him again, “So come on then. Where are we going? It’s doubtful that you’d show me all of this and then fail to further the shock that you are so sure I have.”
In truth, Sherlock was shocked, but he had a habit of wanting to stay on top of a situation. In particularly when there was another person who was so clever in the room, and who also liked to show off. That reflected only slightly in the fact that his deduction - what he had just said - wasn’t the best he could have managed. He could and would have gone on, if he thought it would have helped.
The Doctor chuckled, patting Sherlock on the shoulder. “You’re a pushy one, aren’t you?” He moved to the console, flipping a few switches and looking some strange devices over. “Perfect working order.” The time lord spun to face Sherlock again, leaning against a part of the console. “Alright, Mr Sherlock Holmes -the great and brilliant consulting detective- all of time and space. Where do you want to start?”
Sherlock turned and watched him at the console, and when he was addressed, returned to meet his gaze, "Seventeenth Century England. The time just before The Protectorate. More specifically - a day or so before the Rump was kicked out of Parliament, around the 18th or 19th of April 1653. I've always wanted to see what they were doing. Although, it's you who's the driver; it's entirely up to you." He smiled briefly at The Doctor and returned to look at the console.
Sherlock wasn't a history nerd, but a particular case relied on sources from this period of time. Sherlock hadn't really wanted to delete the information, considering it contently got on his nerves; something wasn't right about the Rump Parliament; why they were kicked out of power. What that bill they tried to pass was specifically.
Although, he would have just as well not complained going somewhere else; considering it's a once in a lifetime opportunity.
