Vienna
Husband and wife haven't seen each other for a month because of different missions, but they're finally reunited ❤ wc: 2K
Ethan and I have been married for 5 years, but I recently got sent off to a different mission, we haven't seen each other in a month. We would talk to each other on the phone. Benji and I worked in the same building, I was at my desk, thinking about the last conversation my husband and I had.
"How are you doing, sweetheart? You sound distressed." He said. "I sound distressed? You're the one who sounds that way, are you okay? How are you doing?" I asked him. "Come on, when is your husband not okay?" He chuckled. That made me giggle. "There's that laugh I love so much." He smiled on the other end. "You didn't answer my question though, baby. How are you doing?" He asked me again. "You know, Hunt, I could turn that around on you because you didn't answer my question either, babe." I said. "I'm good. I miss you. Now, your turn." He said. I sighed, "Ugh, I forgot how good you were getting answers outta me. I'm fine. I miss you, too. So much. I miss being on missions together, Ethan. It's not the same." I said. "Sweetheart, come on. You know it's better this way, my enemies don't know about you. But I have to admit, I do miss being on missions with my wife. They were fun, weren't they?" He laughed. "Ethan..." I said. "What is it?" He asked. "I hate that it's this way! I don't want it to be! I know you wanna protect me the best way you know how, but please, baby... I want our next missions to be together." I said. It was quiet on the other end, "Are you still there?" I asked. "Yes, I'm here. I know where you're coming from, baby, I really do. But..." He said. "But what, Ethan!?" I asked. "I can't. I don't want anything to happen to you, if it did, I'd never forgive myself." He said. "Says the guy who trained me. You know I know how to protect myself, baby." I told him. "And you did amazing in our training sessions, even pinning me down a few times," He chuckled softly. "But I just can't. I gotta go. I love you, sweetheart." He said. "Yeah, yeah. I gotta go, too. I love you, too, Ethan." I said. We hung up.
Benji was at his desk, opening up an envelope, he chuckled and called me over to him. "What?" I asked. "First, are you okay? Seem distant." He said. "Um, I'll be okay. Just that last phone call with Ethan. So, what's up?" I asked again. He held up two tickets to the Vienna Opera and then he got a call, he did his weekly polygraph and came back, calling me back over, "Feel up for an Opera?" He asked. "You do know I'm married to one of your best friends, right?" I laughed. He laughed sarcastically, "Hilarious. I know, shut up. You guys are great together. But no, I'm serious. Come on, it'll be fun." He said. "At least you think we are. Alright, fine. Let's go." I said. "Ethan thinks that, too. Don't worry. The man loves you more than anything." He said. "I know he does." I said. We went to get ready.
Benji's wearing a tux with a bow tie. I'm wearing a blue dress with gold accents. We were walking towards the building when he got handed an envelope, there were glasses inside and an earpiece, he put them on and they confirmed his identity. Then a voice came through, "Welcome to Vienna Benji. Miss me?" Ethan said. "Ethan? Where have you been? No, don't answer that, it's just another thing I'll have to lie about on my weekly polygraph." Benji said. "Ethan, of course." I whispered, laughing to myself and shaking my head. Benji and I both saw the Chancellor of Austria. They kept talking. "We shouldn't be seen together." Ethan said, but his eyes caught me. "Benji?" Ethan asked. "Yeah?" He asked. "What is she doing here!?" Ethan asked him. Benji looked at me with a 'We're screwed' look. "Let me talk to her." He told Benji. He passed me the earpiece, I sighed and put it in, "Well, I didn't plan on you being here, sweetheart. What a surprise." He laughed. "I was always good at surprising you, Hunt." I chuckled, "And Benji, asked me to come." I said. "Hey! I'm not getting in between that with you two!" He said as he pushed me playfully. I punched him, "Shut up, Benji." I laughed. "I guess you can protect yourself, can't you?" Ethan said with a chuckle. "See, baby? Even with the sweetest guy I can protect myself." I giggled. "The sweetest guy?" He asked. "Well, the first sweetest guy being my handsome husband and then Benji." I said. He laughed, "My gorgeous wife is the sweetest girl." He said. "Aw, babe." I chuckled. "Shut up. Let me talk to Benji." He chuckled. "Yes, sir, Mr. Hunt." I said, smiling, handing the earpiece back to Benji.
"So, we can't be seen together?" Benji asked. "No, not right now. Hurry and get in there. I need eyes. Nice tux, by the way. And tell her I said "nice dress" the color blue suits her." He said. Benji turned, making me turn, Ethan was gone. Benji had told me what Ethan said about my dress, I smiled, nodding to him. "So, what exactly are you gonna do?" Benji asked me. "I'm gonna go find Ethan." I said. "Do you really think that's a good idea?" He chuckled. "Maybe, maybe not, but I don't care. He needs my help, too, whether he admits it or not. We'll meet back up, Benji." I said. He nodded and handed me an earpiece. "Lead me to him." I said as I started walking. "Well, you're going in the right direction, just continue the path you're on and there should be a door. You should beat him to it." He said. I nodded, "Thanks, Benji." I got to the door he was talking about, my back turned, he led Ethan to the same door. He saw me standing there and laughed. "I know that laugh anywhere." I said as I turned to face Ethan. We looked at each other for a moment until he spoke, "Part of me still can't believe you're here, but the other part of me is so happy to see you." He walked forward and cupped my cheek. "I'm so happy to see you, too." I smiled softly, "I missed you." I said as I touched his arm, holding onto it. He couldn't help himself from leaning forward and kissing me, "I missed you, too." He kissed me again, I kissed him back. "Nice suit, by the way, baby." I whispered and giggled. He laughed and shook his head. He grabbed my hand and kissed the back of it. "Such a gentleman." I said. "You're really full of it, aren't you, baby?" He chuckled as he began opening the door.
He held my hand. "What can I say? I haven't seen you in a month, okay? That's my excuse, Ethan Matthew Hunt." I said. "Oh, so the full governmental name, huh? Alright, if we're gonna do this, we'll do it together, got it?" He asked. "Together, like always." I nodded and smiled. He smiled and we looked for Lane, which caused a fight to break out. Ethan and I were fighting beside each other like we used to and it felt good. Ethan clipped the Chancellor, which caused us to run. "I have a way out. Do you trust me?" He asked as we were running. "I trust you with my life." I said. He grabbed a rope. "Come on, sweetheart. This way." He nodded. I followed him, we were soon on the roof, he tied the rope on part of the building, it made a noise like it was gonna fall. I chuckled softly, "This is your idea?" I asked. "Yeah," He chuckled, "You just hold onto me." He smiled. I nodded and closed my eyes. I opened them back up and wrapped my legs around my husband's waist, holding onto him as he held onto me with one arm and sliding us down the rope with the other. We reached the ground and part of the building fell, we both looked at each other and laughed. I wrapped my arm through his as he put his hand on mine, Benji soon driving up to pick us up. "Get in!" He said.
We got in, Ethan sighed, he leaned over and kissed my cheek. I smiled, kissing his jaw and laying my head on his shoulder. We soon had a tail, but we lost them. We all made it out of the car and walked to a boat that Ethan was hiding in. He held my hand and squeezed it. "Give me a second, okay?" He whispered to me. I nodded. He walked over to turn the power on. And then we all walked in a room with computers. "So, this is what you've been up to. Wow." I said. "Yeah." He said as he started getting things and putting them on a table, passports, cash, extra clothes. He walked back to the front of the table. "As much as I appreciate the help of you two tonight, I need you guys to-" He started. "Ethan, don't even finish that because I know exactly what you're gonna say," I said as I walked towards him, "I'm not leaving again!" I finished. "Ethan, this is what we both signed up for, let us help. You called me! And I just so happened to tag her along and you'll thank me for that sooner or later." Benji said. "And look what happened! I can't protect you two, that's why I need you to leave!" Ethan said, looking away. "No!" I grabbed his shoulders and turned him to me.
"I'm not leaving you again! We work better together and you know that, Ethan! Don't pretend you don't." I said as I grabbed his hand, he looked at me, "What if I can't protect you?" He said, his eyes filled with tears. I cupped his face and rubbed my thumbs underneath his eyes, "We've been married 5 years, you've protected me for those years. I have a husband who will literally do anything for me and I'm so thankful for him. So please, don't ask me to leave you again because I don't want to." I said with tear filled eyes. "Needless to say, I'm staying. He's staying." I whispered and nodded to Benji. "You need us, just admit it." I chuckled as I wrapped my arms around his neck. He held my face in his hands, "I don't know what I ever did to have such an amazing woman like you." He kissed me. I smiled into the kiss. "I love you, baby." He said as he wrapped his arms around my waist. "I love you, too, baby." I said, interlocking my fingers around the back of his neck and leaning up to kiss him again. He pulled me closer to him, kissing me back. "Do you trust me?" I asked him, laughing. He laughed, "Yes, I trust you with my life, sweetheart."
"Thank you, both, for helping me tonight." He said. "No problem." Benji said as he moved up to where Ethan and I were. "You two do honestly work better together as a team. And anyone who told you that you didn't, well, they lied." He smiled. Ethan and I both laughed, "We do, don't we?" He said, wrapping his arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him. "Indeed we do. And don't you forget it, Hunt or I'm gonna have to pin you down again." I winked, wrapping my arm around his shoulder. "Yes, ma'am." He laughed as he kissed the top of my head. I leaned more into him, happy to be back in my husband's arms.
