Kakuzu Hot take

Kakuzu is the most sympathetic character in this hellhole we call an anime and that’s the whole truth, the only truth, and nothing but the truth. Like, bitch, if I’d been betrayed like that after giving it my all, I’d 100% snap too, the fuck? He has the saddest backstory of the entire cast. He’d be a perfectly decent man if it wasn’t for his shit hole of a village, and he’s spent DECADES living with the paranoia that no matter how much he tries, or how much he dedicates himself to a cause, no one will ever truly reciprocate that loyalty. All he has left is money, because that really is the only thing that stays consistently valuable in the military run government of the Naruto universe. Loyalty means nothing if it threatens the reputation of the village, the reputation that, you guessed it, brings in the money. A ninja village with a shit reputation isn’t going to get any money from missions, now is it? It’s no wonder he places so much value on money, as he was taught early on that it was more valuable than himself.

Kakuzu deserved better.
