Here is an article from NPR about it (May 22, 2026):
Carolina Milanesi, an independent technology analyst, said Google is trying to make its cash cow business — search — richer and more personalized, and it will make shopping easier. But there is a risk that users may have fewer choices about what to click. "Right now it's: I ask a question, I get a bunch of answers and I feel that I'm in control as to which answer I take, or if I'm looking for something, which product I'm going to end up buying. That is going to be less so going forward," she said. Milanesi envisions AI-enabled search and agents proposing products to consumers — perhaps even those they have requested — but with less clarity or choice around where it's coming from. "If you're going to say: 'I want a pair of Jordans, go find them,' you're not necessarily sure what steps have been taken and whether the AI has used a source or a store that was paid for and therefore came up in the search results," she said, "or if AI actually went and did their due diligence and picked the best for me as a customer."
And here's one from Time magazine (May 20, 2026):
While Google already has “AI Mode,” the company will now power the whole search bar through its new Gemini 3.5 Flash model. Instead of the classic list of blue links, Google Search will now also generate a custom page with an AI-generated summary of what you’re searching about, which will then trigger a conversation with AI Mode on the main page, allowing users to ask follow-up questions—similar to the kind of layout you would see when opening ChatGPT.
And a little more from Time's article on how this may affect the websites that we are trying to search for:
When Google first started implementing AI-assisted results, news publishers warned of “catastrophic” impacts on the industry, much of which relies on Google search to drive users to their websites. Last year, news websites saw significant traffic declines as chatbots increasingly replaced Google search as the primary way to find sites and ask questions. Small businesses also noted drops in traffic to their sites from Google, which has traditionally delivered customers. Lily Ray, vice president of SEO strategy & research at Amsive, a digital marketing agency, warned as early as last year that Google’s planned changes to search are “going to have a devastating impact on the Internet.” “It will severely cut into the main source of revenue for most publishers and it will disincentivize content creators who rely on organic search traffic, which is millions of websites, maybe more,” she told Technology Magazine.
noai.duckduckgo.com blocks all AI content in search results automatically
So I saw this news last week and finally switched over to duckduckdo and the difference is STAGGERING. It's like...search from 20 years ago. The results I want are at the TOP. I can't believe I waited so long to switch.
agreed, switching to duckduckgo last year was the single best improvement in my life. just remember to change the search settings > manage ai and turn all the different toggles to Off (duck.ai), Never (search assist), and On (Hide ai images)
Just bringing this down from above quotes:
“It will severely cut into the main source of revenue for most publishers and it will disincentivize content creators who rely on organic search traffic, which is millions of websites, maybe more,” she told Technology Magazine.
So when the news sites go out of business, the content creators give up, the only places you can buy things from are the ones big enough to pay Google's going rate for being included in results, and the entire internet has been turned into an AI-generated ouroboros of shit... then what?
then what?
I'm seriously thinking: web rings. And following personal blogs that talk about what you are interested in and suggest things to you. Like oh, Livejournal. Or any of its many many clones.
Verily, we are heading back to the 90s, folks!
We figured out what to buy and how to live without Google, and we can do it again.
RULES FOR DATING MY DAUGHTER:
my daughter cannot, through action or inaction, harm a human or allow a human to come to harm
a daughter at rest or in constant motion remains at rest or in constant motion unless acted upon by another force
daughters are never created or destroyed, only transformed
always treat every daughter as loaded, even if you know she isn't
you do not talk about my daughter
6. My daughter knows where she is, because my daughter knows where she isn't
i want to do unspeakable things to my moots tbh

Being the pass around toy at a function. Owner calls you into the room. Commands you to present so you drop your pants, pull your panties to the side and show up. Owner says "up" I climb into his lap. He pulls his zipper down, takes out his strap, bounces me slightly while talking to his friends like its no big deal.
dominants should praise the pre-emptive green more often. when your sub looks at you after you do something harsh to it and you can feel the check in question on your lips, praise them to the ends of the earth if they say 'green' before you get a chance to say 'colour?'
there's a reason green is specifically called out here.
a preemptive red is calling yellow. every sub knows to call red when it's too much, yellow when things need to slow down, but then think to themselves 'why would I call green? if i want things to continue i just need to say nothing' and they're wrong. green doesn't just communicate that everything's okay. green also communicates that what's happening is being enjoyed. that it's not just being tolerated, but it is wanted. by saying green you acknoweldge that what's going on might be painful in some way, but that you still want it. if you wait for your domme to ask for a colour, you're not giving them enough feedback. if you're always waiting for her to ask you for a colour, you're putting all the responsibility for your experience on her. if you're waiting for her to ask you for a colour, you're being passive and reactive instead of active and present.
give your dominants feedback when things are going well, not just when they're going wrong, and you'll build their confidence and trust in you to communicate how you feel about the play not only when it's going badly but when it's going well too.
praise every colour when it's given, but give special rewards for a pre-emptive green.
Simple acts of submission are so so good. Sitting at your dom’s feet instead of beside them. Always holding their hand when you’re out, letting them lead you to where you’re going. Waiting until they start to eat before you eat. Asking for permission for things. Seeking out ways to serve them just a little extra in everything you do. It doesn’t even need to be sexual to scratch the itch of submitting to them.
Happy pride month my thighs are free for beautiful women to use (as is the rest of me)
do not underestimate the power of getting beaten til you cry. in fact, go get beaten til you cry. it'll make you feel better. it'll let you have feelings you need to feel. get beaten til you cry.
sometimes a girl will tell you "I'm a cis man!" so unconvincingly that you should take her to get hormones right then and there.
