The game is gonna be built on the godot engine, which is an open-source game engine

there will be a trans character in the game. and yes i have done my homework patiently on that, too

Tappikka Vazhikal - Change of ideas

I have considered changing most parts of my game project to make it more immersive. This will include:

Changing the project's title from 'Right Way Out' to 'Tappikka Vazhikal' (தப்பிக்க வழிகள்) to to stand out more as a game made by someone who is Tamil

Changing the gameplay style from Isometric to Point-and-click to add to the spooky and vulnerable(?) atmosphere; plus I find it easier and puts a greater emphasis on visual story-telling

Making the game's story take place in a nearly empty city inspired by Kowloon Walled City insetad of a haunted palace. You'll see why

Rewriting some of my characters' origin stories to have relevance to the plot

Now that I've a better vision of my art project, I'll be working on another prototype that focuses on the point-and-click gameplay. it may not be now, but it'll better done late than never.

"Hey! What happened? What took you so long?" said the stranger.

Before I answer that, here's some WIP deets of my prototype game, GRIDWORK.exe. I will be distributing it through my Buy Me A Coffee to members for playtesting purposes once it's finally done.

So far I looked up various tutorials, from making procedural dungeons (which i've decided to save for later as it's really complicated. i think), to the player's movement and directions. I've settled on using the left mouse button to move around since it's easier to do in an isometric game. Don't worry about how long it'll take me.

Now to answer the literal bigger question:

A lot had happened. Looking after my ma, cleaning the house, burnout, the curse of Sisyphus, ye name it! It's not easy being unemployed and living with parents, especially in a time of tyranny :/ but that doesn't mean that i'll be asking for help. I can do this on my own, since I got the know-hows in my hobbies.

But I at least keep bearing my word that I will finish this project at a pace that works with me. Unlike some notable indie game devs who dropped the ball after being too overly-ambitious with their scopes, I'm just gonna stay in my lane as I work on my project in itsy-bitsy morsels instead of swallowing it whole.

Introducing Madhu and Ganga, two Hijras who are descendants of the villagers who subdued a malicious king.

Not a lot has been said about Madhu and Ganga, they bear mystery; but they also know the village their ancestors defended many centuries ago. They both have knowledge of the Demon Brother Triad, a trio of powerful demons lurking in the palace where the disgraced king had lived in; but they'd rather keep those supernaturals deets under wraps, as they don't want to draw the attention of journalists who would do anything for the news.

Madhu is short, stout and has booming, brash disposition. Ganga on the other hand is more straight-forward and less ecstatic, giving simpler clarifications whenever Madhu discusses something in a brazenly manner.

They will team up the protagonists in my indie horror game Right Way Out, providing juicy info as well as advice on how not to die to the demons.
