Gen AI has really put ads on a whole new level of ridiculous. I am stunned every day
Xiomara Rodriguez - Politeismo
While Xiomara Rodriguez does make their own art- drawing, 3D models, photography etc, it seems that this particular image and series is AI generated. You can see the full set on instagram and while it is not disclosed to be AI in the caption, you can tell that none of these objects exist and they vary so wildly in style and composition that it is clear these are iterations on a shared prompt and not 3D art either. Looking close at details and wires is a giveaway, as is the way that rhinestones seem to blend with computer keys/electronic components in this particular image.
Another post by Rodriguez of an AI generated image has a caption that confirms the artist's sometimes AI useage, with a caption that reads "Díganle a Fernandito que me deje hacerle unas fotos para no estar usando IA" (Tell Fernandito to let me take some pictures of him so I don't have to use AI.)
AI generated image. Let's not use the technology that the right uses for propaganda and is invested in financially.
Why does this upset people so much when I say the AI is AI. It's not like you made art that I'm criticizing
Pretty blatant AI video which I don't need to explain because all of this is goofy as hell, but jfc the kittens stepping onto the grill to grab burgers lol
Good morning 🌸
This art piece comes from Yasamin Aharipour and seems to be made with GenAI tools. Further investigation of her page leads to her involvement with Little Black Fish Studio, whose youtube channel shares some of her works as shorts, and openly lists AI disclosures
That is not to say that this studio is exclusively supporting AI projects but they are very openly supporting it. Yasamin's page also has plenty of normal photography projects, but the more recent video pieces are AI.
Hi everyone! This is an AI generated video. Note that the cigarette magically changes hands as the man is smoking.
Also, this video is originally being shared by AI content aggregators as an example of how successful video prompts are, as seen here
Follows are very kind but all I do here is identify slop. You can do this too with reverse image search! Many of these images will lead back to pinterest, instagram, facebook, reddit, etc where further info can be found. In some cases images will be from communities or "creators" making AI imagery that disclose the nature of those things.
It gets a little muddier with places like pinterest and various content aggregators, but you can also learn what to look out for- style inconsistencies, inaccuracies with anatomy and scenery that a person wouldn't make but a machine would. The models for image generation are getting more fine tuned over time but there's still given tells for a lot of it. That said, I would refrain from calling anything AI unless you can confirm a source, especially in the case of anything that could be art.
In a lot of cases, finding image sources can also confirm when something isn't AI. Cool photographs, photomanipulation, 3D renders, paintings, drawings, print-making, all sorts of art gets passed around unattributed and you can help fight that by taking a minute or two out of your tumblr browsing to add credit to images. You'll learn about artists, help others discover their work, and eliminate any worries about things being AI.
Also AI generated. Leads back to pinterest and has an "AI modified" label.
A lot of "dark fantasy art" like this is also AI. This leads back to a reddit post where this and other generated artworks are shared, asking if there's anyone who actually paints like this, saying that they don't care for AI.
Unfortunately AI, from this account on instagram called "Baron Creepjoy", whose bio reads "Here to make some AI arts".
Authoritarianism usually progresses through a series of small, incremental shifts.
At first, changes might seem minor or even reasonable to the general public—a new security measure here, a minor restriction on a protest there, a slight change to school curricula.
By the time the cumulative effect of these changes becomes undeniably oppressive, the mechanisms for peaceful resistance or democratic recourse have already been systematically dismantled or weakened
While I appreciate what you're trying to communicate, this is an AI generated video and I think that is antithetical to the point being made. GenAI plays a role in these incremental shifts and the people banking on it are those very same people in power who are pushing us into further restriction. Just look at all the rampant AI use coming from conservatives, far right radicals, etc to create quick and easy propaganda.
incredibly funny post, though the fetish content being used is from this Gen AI account
It's not fetish content nor is it ai, this is literally happening in NYC right now, dude farted right in front of where my office is
I appreciate the commitment to the bit but I am going to always be a spoilsport about AI use
As a society we need to start crudely photoshopping giant asses again lmao
I can't believe you would say that. You're literally erasing the struggles that thousands of New Yorkers are going through when giant men with big fat asses are literally making this city unliveable. All for a crappy gimmick blog that exists only to loudly complain about developing technology like a boomer Luddite yelling at a cloud
Do you know what the Luddites were actually doing when you invoke them? Luddites destroyed textile machinery because they were concerned about how this would effect their pay and the working conditions. It's an apt comparison for my own stance on genAI, ironically, though not how you intended.
By design LLMs are built on stolen labor, are being employed to displace workers, and are being forced into everything because of the sunken cost from the tech investors who can't afford to let this money pit fail. A lot of AI is also trained by exploited labor in other countries, or straight up mechanical turk type exploitation is happening to sell the illusion of fully automated services. If you're supposedly a Marxist, maybe you'd give an inkling of a shit instead of going to bat for "developing tech." Are there applications where I think LLMs will be useful? Absolutely, but not like this.
This is also to say nothing of the insane environmental impact of the data centers being built to power this tech and the water usage.
So yes, I'm a gimmick blog, and you can deal with a small finger wag adding context to an image. I'm not in the habit of arguing either, it's mostly 5 seconds out of my day adding attribution to uncredited art, or in many cases, confirming when images are AI and reblogging here.
The Luddites destroyed textile machinery because they wanted to preserve the status and prestige of guilds. They did not want filthy lay people to be able to create textiles because they wanted to protect their own wealth and giving the public access to technology that let them create textiles was a threat to that wealth, regardless of how helpful that technology would eventually be for people all over the world, all to preserve their own prestige and systemic power as the only people "allowed" to create textiles. So I guess if that's how you feel about art, congrats, you're gleefully emulating petty bourgeois losers who ultimately failed in their mission to keep people from having access to new technology. Truly aspirational.
Your complaints about LLM tech companies are valid, but you are mistakenly laying blame at the feet of the LLM technology itself and not the capitalist economic system that incentivizes the exploitation of labor and disregarding the environment for profits. LLMs being trained on publicly available data posted on the Internet is no less "stolen labor" than pirating Netflix shows via torrent hurting Netflix's bottom line. The process of downloading and using text, images, and audio from the Internet for transformative use is not made somehow more or less "bad" just because that process is automated. Unless you're somehow trying to argue that copyright laws are anticapitalist
I'm sorry you got mad that I reblogged with commentary but you're not changing my mind. I think what you want is to play toys with genAI and you hate unions and you hate artists. Have a nice day
