The video artist Diana Thater’s “Science, Fiction,” considers the implications of starless nights.
Process
Thater often constructs 3D models out of posterboard of the spaces in which she is going to exhibit her work in order to plan out how it will interact with the architecture of the space. She glues printouts of shots from her films to the walls, and decides where the projectors will be in this way.
