Location: Rachel Berry's guest room in Venice, Italy
Notes: Bonding times~
Callie: "Shoot." Callie muttered softly, nearly dropping both glasses of juice as she made her way out of the kitchen. Dave's comments had indeed made her weak in the knees, including that very last one about keeping her forever. That one rotated in her mind as she made her way upstairs and towards his room, gently biting at her bottom lip. He said he might be serious about it, so what did that mean? "Babe..." She called out quietly, pushing his door open with her elbow, peeking in. "Here you go." Her newly banged hair was long and soft around her shoulders, and she wore a pair of black boyshorts with one of Dave's big t-shirts, which hung loose on her body. "You feeling okay?"
Dave: Dave tossed a ball against the ceiling gently from his position laid back against the bed's headboard. It was still mostly surreal that earlier he'd been watching football from his laptop because he was in Italy, hanging out, surrounded by his best friends and girlfriend. His whole /life/ felt like it wasn't his, so he was doing exactly as he'd told Callie--remaining still as to not jar himself back to reality. Speaking of which, she was the best part of his new life, and he was still in awe to have found someone who was as goofy as him while being so sweet (and sexy) as to put up with his kind of weird. The comments about keeping her forever--gulp--had sort of just slipped out, but the more he thought about it, they weren't completely unfounded. They were still way young, of course, but he wasn't panicking. Dressed in a plain white tshirt and some of his favorite worn gym shorts, he sat up with a smile when Callie came in. "Secret mission looks like it went okay," he laughed quietly, making room so she could join him. "You look really really cute in my clothes, just a little FYI." Licking his lips, his grin turned boyish as he leaned into her playfully. "I got one more for you," he started, trying not to ruin it by laughing early. Trying to pick her up with lines was fun, and he gave her an obvious once-over before continuing. "I bet I can kiss you without touching you. What d'you think, can I try?"
Callie: As she entered the bedroom, Callie's feet shuffled quietly against the floor no matter how silent she tried to remain. She knew it was late and that most of the household was asleep, and she didn't want to disturb them -- especially the two Berry fathers. They'd been kind enough to let the entire crew stay there, so Callie wasn't about to do anything disrespectful. She shifted over and set Dave's glass on the nightstand beside his bed, chuckling softly at his comment. "Yeah, mission went pretty well. Waldo had some good tips." She joked, sitting on the edge of the bed and taking a long drink of the cranberry juice before setting her glass down near Dave's own. A smile crossed over her lips as she did so. "Thank you, baby." She replied to his compliment, slowly growing more and more acceptance to each one he sent her way, gradually beginning to feel herself accept beauty whenever Dave was around. He made her feel beautiful, one day, one moment, one compliment at a time. Callie was grateful for it. She brought her legs up onto the bed and looked over at him, her body facing his own as he looked her over, and the girl's eyebrows lifted as she tried to prepare herself for what was coming- and when the pickup line landed, Callie blushed, instantly grinning and reaching to hide her face with her hand. "Oh, David." The blonde laughed quietly, peeking out from under her hand and leaning in to very obviously kiss his lips. "Yeah, I think you need to try, right about now."
Dave: Dave's smile turned mischievous, an made as if to press his forehead against hers but stopped--no touching rule. That was basically the worst rule in the world, but the line was worth it to make her laugh--that laugh was quickly becoming his favorite sound ever. Licking his lips exaggeratedly, he bluffed like this was a huge trick for only a moment, leaning in slowly. He really wasn't touching her, their lips a hair's breath apart
Dave: ...but they weren't kissing yet either, so, unable to hold out any longer, he abandoned the pretense and kissed her fully on the mouth. He made sure to keep it PG , but that didn't mean their lips didn't slide heatedly against one another's for awhile before he pulled away to breathe. "Uhm," he mumbled, trying to get his bearings back. "So I lost the bet," he shrugged with a big smile, cupping her face again and kissing her quickly on the cheek. "Sorry not sorry."
Callie: Callie did her best to keep up with the rule, trying not to smile but failing miserably as their lips came closer and closer together. It was hard not to smile around Dave, because that's just the kind of person he was; he was very bright and funny and happy, and it just radiated out around him. It was infectious. The girl let out a soft laugh as Dave finally just gave in and kissed her, and she returned the embrace willingly, hungrily even, just wanting that contact from him. She was addicted to his kisses and she would never, ever get tired of them. As they pulled apart, Callie too had to catch her breath, letting out a chuckle and licking over her lips. "I'm not sorry either, gooberface." She said, smiling at the gentle kiss to her cheek before leaning in to press a quick one against his lips one more time. "I, um..." How was she going to word this? Callie swallowed, then briefly cleared her throat, feeling hesitant. "...What you said earlier... you were serious?"
Dave: Dave snorted a laugh into her kiss before responding and matching her enthusiasm until they pulled away. He stretched, scrunching his nose boyishly as his eyes lingered on her. "Who knew cheesetastic lines worked with you? Woulda used them earlier," he teased before he realized what she was asking, and his lips pursed in thought. His eyes locked with hers as he chewed his lip gently, a small smile fighting through onto his face as he considered it. He was leaned back on his hands on the bed, and he didn't want to overthink this answer, even if he didn't want to say the wrong thing. Nodding slowly, he swallowed and struggled with how to word it. "Yeah. I think," he paused, looking down at the bed for a moment. "I think that if I got lucky enough to be the guy you pick for all the serious stuff, that would be...enough." He wondered if this was coming out right--his ex had pretty much crapped on his idea of a future, and more than anything, he did /not/ want this to be a repeat. Callie meant so much more to him than he could say. "I mean, when I picture a future, it's always happy as long as you're there too."
Callie: The blonde watched her boyfriend quietly, sitting near him and letting her fingers toy with the bottom of the shirt she was wearing. She didn't really realize it, but she'd brought her bottom lip in with her front teeth, chewing on the corner of it in a slight nervousness. Why was she so nervous? She knew she had serious feelings for Dave. She wouldn't have told him she loved him otherwise. That wasn't something she just said for the sake of saying it, she truly meant it. She loved him, and she was /in/ love with him. Callie listened as he explained how he felt, and she nodded slowly, her teeth letting her lip loose. "It's... it's the same for me." She started out quietly, smiling softly at the thought, at all the time they've spent together, at the fact that they were together in the first place. Just the thought of him, of them, of the strong connection they shared... that could get them through anything. Love conquers all, right? Shifting a little bit, Callie moved over and carefully climbed onto Dave's lap, straddling him and looking over his face before meeting his eyes. "If /I'm/ the one that gets lucky enough to have a future with you, then I'll be happy. I'll be more than happy. I can't imagine my life without you in it." Her hands lifted to touch his torso, then she wrapped her arms around it, hugging him and holding onto him tightly (but not too tightly, of course). "Keeping you sounds pretty damn nice to me." A soft grin emerged on her lips, and she pressed a kiss against his own, the grin still clearly evident. "I could get used to having you around all the time, y'know, whatever." She shrugged playfully, like it wasn't a big deal, obviously just joking the way the two of them joked together all the time.
Dave: Callie's face was hard to read, which made him uncomfortable. Dave had never been the best at expressing himself in a way that wasn't a joke--things were safer that way--and he was hoping everything came out right as his mind raced going over what he'd said. When she started nodding, he did too, almost as if to help convince himself that she was onboard with him. "Really?" The corner of his mouth tugged in a smile that was fighting to get huge on his face, and he sat back when she made straddle him, his hands settling on her hips. His hug was just as strong as hers was, and his cheek pressed to the crown of her head while his hands rubbed her back affectionately. "I've never actually tried to picture that, actually. So you're definitely stuck." A chuckle rumbled low in his chest when she lightened the mood with her jokes, and he kissed her back. "Uh huh, you better get used to it. I'm pretty sure we're having the end-all, be-all talk right now, and if /I'm/ going to have to learn to deal with your amount of awesome being around all the time, stealing blankets while we sleep, then you will learn to deal 'wit dis,'" he laughed. "What's this mean for us, anyway? Don't hold back."
Callie: Callie laughed softly at Dave's words, sitting back some so she could properly see his face. "What does this mean for us... hm." She pondered, rubbing her hands over his back, massaging it very lightly. "I think it just means we're in it for the long run. We want to be. I've never done this before, so I don't know. I mean- I've never really had a relationship, let alone a long term one." Callie explained, smiling faintly and tilting her head down, pressing a kiss or two against the man's heart. "But I'm glad I'm in one with you, gooberface." She told him, bringing her head back up and looking over his face, her smile growing ever-so-slightly. "And I promise to try to share the blankets more. In my defense, I'm asleep, so I never know I'm doing it." Callie said matter-of-factly, playfully, knowing it was something she actually really wanted to work on. Dave was so tall as it was, and he needed all the blanket he could get, especially with the cold weather coming up. "And if I just can't get it right, then... I'll buy more blankets. Big comfy, fluffy ones. Snuggly ones. Awesome Dave blankets."
Dave: Dave was a bit intimidated to be "in it for the long run," but nothing felt wrong, so he shook it off. Things being serious didn't necessarily mean they were bad, and he shook off the insecurities of his past internally, snapping back to attention at something she said. "Wait, are you serious? Never had a boyfriend, no freakin way. Men are pigs but we're not all /dumb/," he laughed when she kissed his chest. It legitimately was blowing his mind a little bit, that no guy had ever picked up on her awesome, but he actually just shrugged--it was good for him. "Dave blankets, huh? I heard those are huge." Wrapping an arm around her waist, he playfully hauled her down to the bed, spreading his body over hers. Careful to not squish her with the full weight of all 6'4 of him, he still pressed himself against her, snuggling his face against her neck, where he placed a kiss. "Still think its awesome? Your hair smells nice."
Callie: The blonde shrugged gently. "It just never happened. I slept around a lot... but never did the love thing." She said. "What about you, though? What was there before me?" Callie honestly wanted to know. Whatever Dave wanted to share with her, she wanted to hear, because she wanted to know him and who he was and what he'd been through. She already knew a lot of things (like his home state, his family, his passions), but there was always something new to learn about him. Callie's eyes widened as Dave suddenly took ahold of her and flipped their positions, but she laughed once she realized what he was doing, and that there wasn't some sudden natural disaster they had to fend off or something. "Oh, shit." She held onto him tightly, laying back and laughing quietly, wrapping her arms around him and moving her fingertips back through his hair. "Oh, I think it's amazing." She sighed dreamily, playfully, letting out a soft grin as she felt him snuggle his face into her neck. "Thank you, baby. You smell good, too. As always." Her legs carefully rounded Dave's waist, and she slid one hand down over his back, feeling his muscles beneath her fingers. "Tell me something else about you. Anything you want to tell me."
Dave: [im having to be stealth about my replies, I'm sorry]
Callie: ( oh my goodness, take your time! there's no rush whatsoever )
Dave: The revelation that she'd been pretty casual with herself didn't hit him as hard as he'd expected him to, but Dave had never really been one to judge on past action. What mattered was how you were working on yourself now, and Callie was pretty much the most spectacular girl he'd ever met. "How's love treating you then, for this first time? I have a little check card for you to rate our experiences from 1 to 5--5 being totally satisfying and 1 being 'what the fuck was that?'" he joked, pulling back to grin at her. That didn't last long, as he stiffened at the mention of his own past--it was harder to joke about that. "Um," he scrunched his face in distaste and pressed his face back to her shoulder. She was good at this hug thing. "There was Laura, like 7 months ago. I dunno really how to explain it, but I thought she was heavenly, and she was the first girl to give me the time of day, so...I jumped in quick with her." He didn't look up at Callie. "And I guess the best way to put it is that she never even came close to jumping. Not even her toe came close. It was pretty shitty." He was quiet for a moment but there was no sense in dwelling, and he placed a lingering kiss on Callie's collarbone. "No pain no gain though, and I'll take it." Trying to lighten the mood, he wiggled a little as he thought of an interesting fact about himself. "Something about me, hmmm." Now he did pull back to look at her, his forearms against the mattress and framing her face. "I've broken 13 bones. My first dream was to be an X Games bro. I'm not an ass or boobs guy because I think both are awesome, and sometimes--" he paused and shrugged. "Sometimes I wonder if music is a pipe dream."
Callie: The blonde was smiling at Dave's first comments, the one about his love check cards, but her smile soon faded as he explained about his past relationship. Even though she and Dave were together now, Callie was still hurt by the fact that /he/ had been hurt, and that somebody had even dared to treat him that way. She swallowed slowly and slid her fingers through his hair, turning to press a kiss just above his ear and against his hair, holding it there as he finished speaking. He quickly changed moods and pulled back, and Callie could tell he didn't want to elaborate much further on the subject of Laura, but she wasn't going to let it go without saying something. She smiled first, however, at the random facts he told her, reaching up to affectionately run her hand over his cheek. He really had no idea just how amazing he was, and Callie knew she was lucky. The girl was brought back with a sudden kick to the gut, however, by Dave's comment about music being a pipe dream. Her brow furrowed. "David, listen to me." She started, now reaching to hold his face in her hands, eyes meeting his. "You are a seriously, seriously talented musician. And your voice just blows me away every time I hear it. You have such a passion for this, and I can tell when I look at you, when you talk about it, when you play and sing. This is something you should not give up on. It's not a pipe dream. I will always, always support you in this, and I'll be there with you every step of the way. When you're writing your own songs and going into the studio and signing autographs and playing gigs... everything." Her fingers moved down onto his shoulders, and she rubbed over them reassuringly. "You can do this. And that girl... she didn't know what she had right in front of her. I do know, though. I have an amazing man in front of me, someone who's going to go far doing what he loves to do."
Dave: The 'only one girlfriend' thing, plus the kicker that it had been a trainwreck still stung him, but Dave fought the embarrassment off valiantly, instead focusing on how nice Callie's affections felt. He'd had no idea relationships like this existed--he and Callie were basically best friends, the differences being that he found her sexy as hell and she let him make out with her--it was /the best/. It was infinitely exhilarating, and he relaxed at her touch, eyebrows lifting when she took his face in her hands. He could feel the blush spread from his ears to his face the more she talked about him, and squirmed a little--he was still fairly new to the adoration feeling, but her solid faith in him worked wonders, and he really just wanted to return the favor somehow. Words and he were apparently in a timeout, so he traded them for pressing a heated kiss against her lips. Their mouths dragged slow and hot against one another's, with his hand coming up to comb lightly through her hair. Pulling away before his phasers set completely to 'naked,' he left his forehead pressed against hers and let their noses brush affectionately. "I really love you a lot," he started quietly. "And thank you, for that. Comin' from you, well--means a lot." He but his lip. "I kinda don't believe you about the whole love thing though," he mused aloud, starting to smile. "You're very loveable." He pressed playful kisses all over her face. "So was that just a choice--not to commit? Or is there am asshole I need to find?"
Callie: It was a nice surprise when Dave leaned in to bring their lips together, and Callie returned the embrace warmly, sliding her hands down to gently grip at his sides. Her brow furrowed a bit, actually, at how deep the kiss was, and she could feel herself arch up into him, hips meeting as the heel of her foot slid down one of Dave's legs. Callie would never ever get used to the feeling of kissing him. Whether they shared tiny kisses, big kisses, forehead kisses, neck kisses... it didn't matter. She would never get used to how they felt, and how much each and every embrace meant to her -- not to mention the fact that these hot and heavy ones always turned her on, but that was something she tried not to think about at this particular moment in time. As they pulled away, Callie slid her hands just underneath the edge of Dave's shirt, wanting to feel his skin against her own, pulling him a little closer. "I love you, too." She said softly, catching her breath and letting her eyes open up, licking over her lips before letting out a grin at his playful kisses. "No, it's just..." She wasn't sure how to word it, and it took her a moment to figure out how. "...I was scared, I guess. And the guys I always hung around with or met at parties or slept with... they weren't really looking for much more than that. But it worked out for me, 'cause I ended up meeting you." Callie smiled, knowing the last bit was cheesy, but it was also the truth. "And you, gooberface, are very loveable, too."

Dave: Dave scrunched his face at her boyishly, his blush returning when she said she was glad to have met him--he was the lucky one, lucky in that she was in his life at all and lucky that, for some reason, his stupidity hadn't pushed her away. /That/ was a mistake he never intended to repeat. "Scared," he repeated, his voice muffled by her skin. "I know that feel, bro." He was mostly distracted with her hand on his back and the feel of her body, but his words were true and he pulled back slightly to look at her. "You scare me, a bit." Shrugging, he smiled cutely. "But, this is probably the coolest thing I've ever done with a girl, so I'm gonna say its a good sign. Not the layin' in bed, making out thing--even if you're #1 on my list for that too--the traveling, Italy thing. You dealt with my plane stuff and held my hand--I /gotta/ keep you."
Callie: Callie furrowed her brow gently, shifting her body and scooting back so she could sit up, brushing some of her hair back away from her face. "Dave... what do you mean I scare you?" She asked quietly, looking over at him and resting her hands down into the bed beneath her, her face very confused and vulnerable all at the same time. The girl didn't understand fully what he meant, and even though she knew they loved each other and they wanted to be together, this part in particular was scaring her. She swallowed slowly, trying not to feel panicked. Maybe she had something wrong and she was overreacting.
Dave: Dave moved when she did, immediately sensing a shift in her mood. Frowning, he sat back on his heels and gave her space, his brow furrowing at her question. "No, Cals it's not--that's not....I don't mean it in a bad way." He tried to think of a better way to explain it without sounding like a total pansy. That didn't happen so he went with the next best thing. "It's just, I know we joke and have a good time, but I know and you know we're serious. I'm Dave, I never take anything serious. But I /did/, once, and it SUCKED, because, you know." He sighed and trailed off, rubbing his eyes. "And here it's happenin' all over only better, because you're way more fun and you drive me crazy and I think I'm slightly obsessed with your hips, but it's scary. I trust you, and I know you're not the same deal, but all the movies say that's what it's supposed to be like--like in Pirates of the Caribbean." He was rambling now. "Will gave her his heart and everything, in a slightly gross way, and she had to keep it safe. Everybody wonders what if."
Callie: She took in a shaky breath and watched her boyfriend quietly, trying to process what he was saying, nodding a little bit as he went on. She felt that maybe she had an understanding now, and she licked over her lips, moving closer to Dave and slowly wrapping her arms up around his neck in a warm hug. "David, I'm not gonna hurt you." Callie said softly. "I know it's scary and I know you were hurt before... but I'm not gonna do that to you. I'm gonna keep your heart safe with me, David Patrick." Turning her head a little bit, Callie held a kiss against the top of his ear, then leaned back just a little bit, looking him in the eyes. "I care about you... and I love you. You have me and I'm not going anywhere." Her forehead rested against his own, and she brought her hand forward to hold his cheek, sniffling quietly as she grew more emotional. "I'm not going anywhere, David."
Dave: Dave accepted the hug almost before she offered it--the conversation had certainly deepened, and he could see she was getting worked up. His hands rubbed soothingly at her back while he tucked his chin in the crook of her neck. It wasn't ever that he'd been worried, but the passionate reassurance didn't do anything but help. Responding in kind, he pressed a kiss to her neck before he felt her pulling back, and his eyes didn't shy from hers at all--he wouldn't let them. "You really really like my name, huh? I like how it sounds coming from you." He breathed a soft laugh, trying to coax a smile from her before actually addressing their conversation. "I know that, baby. And I love you too. That scared stuff--it's not a huge deal, I didn't mean to upset you." His hands cupped her face gently as his fingers gently brushed over her ears. "It's just an annoying tick that I guess sticks around when something breaks inside you. But we're so flippin' awesome and happy--c'mon. Lets talk about you wearing my shirt instead, because seriously." He was trying to make her laugh, not wanting her to stress about his baggage. It was things that he was trying to shed himself anyway, and whether she knew it or not, she was a huge reason for his quietly growing confidence.
ok so this happened and if anyone laughs i'll throw kiwi pie in your face
When the clock hits 11:11 I always wish for the same thing, Ever since the night that we kissed. I promise one day we'll be living in bliss, Because if I make it to the top of the world, you're coming with. I can't be a king without my queen, So I'll do what I need to be everything that you need. We playing every moment on my brain's big screen, And wishing you were here with me. You're all that I see, every time that I look around, I feel your kiss in every breath, I hear your name in every sound. Loneliness, I feel like I'm going to drown, But you always rescue me from tumbling down. I'm tired of this town and the fact that you're not here, Your presence is the light that allows me to see clear. Losing you has always been my greatest fear. Remember that, I love you, dear.
