Do you ever get that feeling that you had a golden chance with someone and you build your hopes up that this thing will only make you and your life better? Then something happens and things go the completely opposite direction, and it breaks you inside?

And you spend so much time trying to piece it back together, just enough to be able to go on with your life in a barely stable fashion? And you get to believe that you did, so you just lie to yourself that everything is fine and it’s ok, but you know it’s just a facade you put up just to be able to live day by day? And every now and then your mind goes back to those events, and plays back the good times, and you feel so good and warm and happy? And then the bad times come around, and you remember in great detail what went wrong, where it went wrong and why it went wrong, and that broken part inside you breaks a little more every time?

And you are very aware that it’s bad, and you should try to pull yourself together because that’s no way to live your life, but you just can’t? No matter how hard you try and what you do, you’ll always be broken on the inside, with little hope of ever piecing that together?

How would the Zodiac Signs react if they were kidnapped?

Aries

He’s not even scared, he turns to the kidnapper and reminds him that he knows karate, kung fu, and other 10 more martial arts, and at the same time he has a black belt on beating the sh*t out of his opponents. After that, the kidnapper is almost dead from the punches, Aries listens to him and stands still to let him tie him up. But before that, he lets the kidnapper know, that if he doesn’t have a fun time, he will brake free and knock him out again.

Taurus

The kidnapper is trying really hard to tie him up, but Taurus doesn’t cooperate because he can’t miss an opportunity to eat something. He’s negotiating with the kidnapper about the quality of the foods he’ll be eating, or else he won’t let him tie him up. The kidnapper threatens him and Taurus doesn’t even bother moving from his position, the kidnapper doesn’t know what to do and starts crying. He leaves depressed and tells Taurus that he’ll be back for a next try.

Gemini

Just when the kidnapper explains to him that he will kidnap him in order to earn money, Gemini grabs the opportunity, starts negotiating in order to get the most money possible, he tricks the kidnapper who lets him free, to “go get the money” then he sprints away and goes home. The kidnapper is really angry and bangs his head against the wall.

Leo

“Do you know who I am?” is the first thing Leo says when the kidnapper ties him up. "Of course I do, that’s why I’m kidnapping you, I know how much you’re worth” says the kidnapper. When Leo hears this phrase, he falls in love with the kidnapper and not only he likes him, but he also helps him ask for more money, letting him know about every each cent his family owns.

Virgo

When the kidnapper explains to him that he wants to take him, Virgo gets really mad, he refuses to stop doing what he’s doing in order to go with him, starts to run away, throws every item he has at the kidnapper, the kidnapper gets exhausted and then Virgo tackles him down. While they’re waiting for the police to arrive and arrest the kidnapper, Virgo orders him to clean the house. He’s not playing around…

Libra

He agrees to get kidnapped. Not only that, but he finds it also reasonable: ’‘I’m so beautiful, why wouldn’t he want to kidnap me?”, he thinks and smiles. But when he realizes that the kidnapping isn’t so fun, he’s trying to figure out a plan to escape. Without any hard work, he makes the kidnapper fall in love with him, and then he convinces him that the only right choice is to go to the police department and turn himself in, because it will be very romantic when Libra visits him and brings him food!

Scorpio

When the kidnapper tells him his intentions, he dies from laughter, why? Because: 1.: The kidnapper doesn’t know that Scorpio is the devil and will make him suffer 2.: In just 30 minutes after the kidnapper ties Scorpio up, Scorpio has already figured out who the kidnapper is and how to handle him. 3.: Scorpio tells the kidnapper to let him free, with the promise that he will never reveal the kidnapper’s identity, but only if he does him a favor 4.: Sagittarius in the next 10 minutes is kidnapped…

Sagittarius

Although he can easily escape, he decides to go with the flow. At the end of the day, this is an adventure! When he gets bored, he’ll just leave. They throw him into a house and then they bring him a roommate (someone else that was kidnapped). At that moment, Sagittarius, because he has great company, he’s having fun, he decides to stay a little longer and he has already like his kidnapper, because he thinks he’s a great guy. Finally, when he finds out that the reason of all this was money, he feels sad (because we expected all of this to happen because of love) he throws the check into the kidnapper’s face, and tells him to take his money and let him free. He doesn’t want to stay any longer.

Aquarius

Just like Virgo, he’s the second person that the kidnapper can’t tie up! Aquarius at first tries to convince him to back off, and then when he realizes that the kidnapper is not listening, starts to slap him, he kicks him, he starts screaming and cursing! There is no way that the kidnapper can deny Aquarius’ freedom Finally, the kidnapper walks away, because he realized that Aquarius may tell everybody not to pay a single dollar for him, not because he doesn’t want to lose money, but for reasons of his ideology.

Pisces

He begins to cry, but then he finds Sagittarius who’s been kidnapped as well and he feels more confident. Both of them come to the conclusion that even now, life is great and Pisces opens a door that he finds in front of him and goes for a walk. He’s outside in the countryside, in the middle of nowhere, he feels amazed and starts walking away. The police find him accidentally, he goes home, but since then, Pisces has already forgot about the kidnapper and Sagittarius!

Capricorn - Cancer

They are the two kidnappers. Yes, they are two, not one! Capricorn is the kingpin, Cancer is the one who comes up with the plan and executes it. Of course, Capricorn doesn’t care about anything else, than their goal, to earn as much money as possible. Capricorn is the one that Leo falls in love with, Cancer is the one who falls in love with Libra (the one Scorpio recognized and Sagittarius liked). Capricorn’s motivation is money, but what’s Cancer’s motivation? To prove that he can do absolutely anything! And when we say anything, we mean anything! He isn’t scared at all, as long as there is something to get. In this case there was something. Action and money! How could he possibly say no?!

Total Lunar Eclipse:July 27th,2018

We are currently approaching a total lunar eclipse this coming friday, during this summer of retrogrades, this is a very significant ordeal. During the blood moon, the ivory mother in a way, dies, and not as she does when the moon is New and dark, but in a much more harsh, and dramatic fashion. With this proverbial death, do we face massive changes, as we do with any sort of eclipse. However, unlike solar eclipses, which herald dramatic, visceral and physical changes to our immediate physical reality, Lunar eclipses hint more so at a change in perspective or intrinsic change in the masses. With This Full moon in Aquarius,is going to be passing through the first decant, and second, with that he first period will be centered around our goals aspirations and dreams, where we want to be in life, we may find that what we wanted isn’t actually what we wanted, or we may find we are where we should be. The second period, we may will be focusing on what we are communicating and learning, and since Mercury has gone retro, this is definitely going to be an experience. We may be seeing a change in the collective, and how they approach revolution, equality, justice, and social awareness will be on the mind and spirit these coming days. The moon will be conjunct the Mars Rx in Aquarius, and this may create lots of tension, conflict and pain involving your past, and how it relates to your future, and if these relics of the past fit into your current world view. During this moon, you may feel called to do something wild, or impulsive, you may want to seek connection and collectivity in another, and this may lead to you craving the touch of exes, an those who may not be the most healthy but are on demand, avoid situations that can lead to conflict, everything is amplified right now. Helpful things for action writers to remember

Sticking a landing will royally fuck up your joints and possibly shatter your ankles, depending on how high you’re jumping/falling from. There’s a very good reason free-runners dive and roll.

Hand-to-hand fights usually only last a matter of seconds, sometimes a few minutes. It’s exhausting work and unless you have a lot of training and history with hand-to-hand combat, you’re going to tire out really fast.

Arrows are very effective and you can’t just yank them out without doing a lot of damage. Most of the time the head of the arrow will break off inside the body if you try pulling it out, and arrows are built to pierce deep. An arrow wound demands medical attention.

Throwing your opponent across the room is really not all that smart. You’re giving them the chance to get up and run away. Unless you’re trying to put distance between you so you can shoot them or something, don’t throw them.

Everyone has something called a “flinch response” when they fight. This is pretty much the brain’s way of telling you “get the fuck out of here or we’re gonna die.” Experienced fighters have trained to suppress this. Think about how long your character has been fighting. A character in a fist fight for the first time is going to take a few hits before their survival instinct kicks in and they start hitting back. A character in a fist fight for the eighth time that week is going to respond a little differently.

ADRENALINE WORKS AGAINST YOU WHEN YOU FIGHT. THIS IS IMPORTANT. A lot of times people think that adrenaline will kick in and give you some badass fighting skills, but it’s actually the opposite. Adrenaline is what tires you out in a battle and it also affects the fighter’s efficacy - meaning it makes them shaky and inaccurate, and overall they lose about 60% of their fighting skill because their brain is focusing on not dying. Adrenaline keeps you alive, it doesn’t give you the skill to pull off a perfect roundhouse kick to the opponent’s face.

Swords WILL bend or break if you hit something hard enough. They also dull easily and take a lot of maintenance. In reality, someone who fights with a sword would have to have to repair or replace it constantly.

Fights get messy. There’s blood and sweat everywhere, and that will make it hard to hold your weapon or get a good grip on someone.

A serious battle also smells horrible. There’s lots of sweat, but also the smell of urine and feces. After someone dies, their bowels and bladder empty. There might also be some questionable things on the ground which can be very psychologically traumatizing. Remember to think about all of the character’s senses when they’re in a fight. Everything WILL affect them in some way.

If your sword is sharpened down to a fine edge, the rest of the blade can’t go through the cut you make. You’ll just end up putting a tiny, shallow scratch in the surface of whatever you strike, and you could probably break your sword.

ARCHERS ARE STRONG TOO. Have you ever drawn a bow? It takes a lot of strength, especially when you’re shooting a bow with a higher draw weight. Draw weight basically means “the amount of force you have to use to pull this sucker back enough to fire it.” To give you an idea of how that works, here’s a helpful link to tell you about finding bow sizes and draw weights for your characters. If an archer has to use a bow they’re not used to, it will probably throw them off a little until they’ve done a few practice shots with it and figured out its draw weight and stability.

People bleed. If they get punched in the face, they’ll probably get a bloody nose. If they get stabbed or cut somehow, they’ll bleed accordingly. And if they’ve been fighting for a while, they’ve got a LOT of blood rushing around to provide them with oxygen. They’re going to bleed a lot.

How to apply Writing techniques for action scenes:

- Short sentences. Choppy. One action, then another. When there’s a lull in the fight, take a moment, using longer phrases to analyze the situation–then dive back in. Snap, snap, snap. - Same thing with words - short, simple, and strong in the thick of battle. Save the longer syllables for elsewhere. - Characters do not dwell on things when they are in the heat of the moment. They will get punched in the face. Focus on actions, not thoughts. - Go back and cut out as many adverbs as possible. - No seriously, if there’s ever a time to use the strongest verbs in your vocabulary - Bellow, thrash, heave, shriek, snarl, splinter, bolt, hurtle, crumble, shatter, charge, raze - it’s now. - Don’t forget your other senses. People might not even be sure what they saw during a fight, but they always know how they felt. - Taste: Dry mouth, salt from sweat, copper tang from blood, etc - Smell: OP nailed it - Touch: Headache, sore muscles, tense muscles, exhaustion, blood pounding. Bruised knuckles/bowstring fingers. Injuries that ache and pulse, sting and flare white hot with pain. - Pain will stay with a character. Even if it’s minor. - Sound and sight might blur or sharpen depending on the character and their experience/exhaustion. Colors and quick movements will catch the eye. Loud sounds or noises from behind may serve as a fighter’s only alert before an attack. - If something unexpected happens, shifting the character’s whole attention to that thing will shift the Audience’s attention, too. - Aftermath. This is where the details resurface, the characters pick up things they cast aside during the fight, both literally and metaphorically. Fights are chaotic, fast paced, and self-centered. Characters know only their self, their goals, what’s in their way, and the quickest way around those threats. The aftermath is when people can regain their emotions, their relationships, their rationality/introspection, and anything else they couldn’t afford to think or feel while their lives were on the line.

Do everything you can to keep the fight here and now. Maximize the physical, minimize the theoretical. Keep things immediate - no theories or what ifs.

If writing a strategist, who needs to think ahead, try this: keep strategy to before-and-after fights. Lay out plans in calm periods, try to guess what enemies are thinking or what they will do. During combat, however, the character should think about his options, enemies, and terrain in immediate terms; that is, in shapes and direction. (Large enemy rushing me; dive left, circle around / Scaffolding on fire, pool below me / two foes helping each other, separate them.)

Lastly, after writing, read it aloud. Anyplace your tongue catches up on a fast moving scene, edit. Smooth action scenes rarely come on the first try.

My question is do the die affect topography any or just set the borders?

I imagine it’s up to the person making the map. But maybe the more dice in a single spot, the more mountainous or forested the area. Maybe choose a few dice to be deemed cities, and some dice for ruins.
