"trans men are only oppressed for being trans, not for being men!" quick question: which part of their identity is the one that makes them trans??
the fucking trans part.
The transandrophobia discourse is rooted in such black and white no budging mentality that "men are never oppressed for being men" and it completely ignores the nuances and complexities of trans manhood and how we're men cause we're trans and trans cause we're men and society at large Does Not See Us As Men and any male privilege we may be granted is extremely conditional, ppl act like people hate us cause we're trans and don't hate us cause we're men and its like... nobody who hatecrimes a trans guy would be like "yeah him being a man was fine, i just hate that he was one of them filthy transgenereds" like PLEASE grow a fucking braincell i fucking beg of you
how are you describing a regular ass scenario of transphobic violence as if itās some ridiculous hypothetical just so you can keep being the victim in every situation.
yes transgender men are oppressed for being trans. are you literally stupid?

So. We gonna talk about the trans men & transmascs who were tortured in a Louisiana ICE. facility between 2023 and 2025? About how they were told things like āIf you wanna be a man, I'll treat you like a manā, or āaren't you strong enough? Aren't you a man?ā Or are we just going to keep denying the oppression of trans men & transmascs?
thatās called transphobia.
Male privilege is when people see you as a groomed woman or a tranny freak.
this is called transphobia
Hey, so, if you shame a trans man for being too feminine, especially for things out of his control, or you call him things like "bitch" because he hurt your fradgile feefees, you're actually transphobic! Doesn't matter if you're trans or queer yourself, you can still be, and very much are, transphobic, because your support is conditional.
I simplified it, since most transphobic people's brains turn off when they hear "transandrophobic", so I used a more familiar word to get through their dense skulls.
Also, if you wanna add "x group of trans people too" to this post, do it. I support solidarity, and you should be heard, too.
yeah so thatās called transphobia. other trans people also get misgendered, believe it or not. itās not special because youāre a man.
how do you even begin to think that calling transphobia that affects all trans people ātransandrophobiaā is somehow supporting solidarity.
āletās ignore all people who experience this transphobic violence except for men. For solidarity.ā
there is something wrong with you

Anyway, as someone who literally just wrote a post about the way I was targeted and harassed for months before my last blog was nuked the difference in treatment between me, as a two spirit of color and white trans ppl is blindingly obvious right now.
I posted screenshots of how I was being targeted by one blog in particular who's post telling people to report me got over 4k notes.
We knew who exactly got me deleted but people did not go to bat for me the way I've seen happen today. Nobody made call out posts or block lists of the racists queer phobes who engaged with the main post and helped harass me until I was nuked. There wasn't an influx of people who went to that person's blog to convince them to remove it. There weren't people flooding tags talking about how upset they were and demanding accountability from staff or the other involved parties. There were not messages of support in my asks or dms.
Despite the way white queer people loved reblogging my posts about being two spirit, white supremacy, and native rights to prop themselves up as allies, there was no outrage about the queerphobic racism of staff.
Not like this.
And I just want to clarify that I'm just using my experience as an example since it's obviously what I'm most familiar with, but I am so extremely far from being the only person of color this happened to. I'm certainly not the first queer person of color it happened to, either.
I am just a drop in a bucket. This is bigger than me.
After all, the way Black bloggers got targeted by both Tumblr staff and its users multiple times until they were chased/purged from the site is infamous. And everyone knows it was wrong now. In retrospect. And everyone swears they'd never do the same thing again.
But that's hasn't stopped black trans femmes from being anxious that at any moment they will be next.
So yeah, revel in how good of an ally you are for calling out the transphobia and transmisogyny we've seen in the last 24 hours. Pat yourselves on the back for protecting trans people.
But while y'all are doing that I also want you to think about why you were so quick and willing to go to bat for white trans people in a way I've never ever seen happen for black and brown trans people.
"Trans men ARE men." Yes, trans men are men. But is that your only support of trans men? Do you actually care about trans mens lives? Do you care about ALL trans men and the oppression we face? Do you care about the disabilities or mental health issues of trans men? Do you care about the medical misogyny trans men still have to put up with? Do you care about the racism TMOC face?
Trans men are men but we are also vulnerable. We are not only men but we are TRANS men. Treating us as if we are cis men or cis in general only continues to feed the erasure of our history, oppression, and over all being. We deserve to be trans men. We deserve to be trans. The societal pressure for us to be anything more or less than trans men, hurts us when we are only trying to survive.
thatās called transphobia. no one objects to you talking about transphobia they object to you presuming that you, as a man, are the only person who experiences this transphobia.
'trans men don't lose social standing upon transition'
trans men experience transphobia as a result of transphobia.
all trans people experience more oppression than their cis counterparts.
that does not preclude you from being in a more privileged social position relative to others within the community.
This is from an older post of mine someone recently reblogged- discussing how PCOS was discovered to also affect people assigned male at birth, as ovaries and polycystic gonads were discovered to not be a requirement despite the name.
And this response really got under my skin. Every single one of these people responding this way were cis women.
This is what I and other trans men are talking about when we say that unfortunately we are being left out-deliberately or accidentally- of discussions that affect us- and that we are at an increased risk of medical malpractice and medical neglecy.
Over 10% of people with PCOS are trans men or trans masc. Over 50% of trans men and trans mascs actively avoid going to the gynecologist, and this number jumps to over 90% reporting feeling anxious about making and attending appointments. Anywhere from 40-60% of trans men and mascs WORLDWIDE report intentionally poor care from medical professionals, including and especially at a gynecologist.
PCOS has already dramatically affected men, even before it was discovered to affect those assigned male at birth. While I understand the bitter response, as medical misogyny affects both cis and trans women alike, the choice to leave off the three little letters which would clarify the point also serves to silence and erase the way trans men and mascs are and have been treated by the medical community.
(It also inherently labels all people assigned male at birth as "men", inherently misgendering and erasing trans women and fems as well. Not that I think many of these responders care about that either, being that at least a few of them were TERFs when I investigated their blogs).
thatās called transphobia.
i think if we're talking about transandrophobia there needs to be conversation about how penis creating bottom surgery, and especially phalloplasty, are discussed and received by people, including other trans people. it goes along with societys and the queer/trans communitys obsession with feminizing trans men. the idea that we would even WANT a penis, let alone a "sub par," "fake" penis just proves that we're evil and "mentally ill" people. have yall seen how people, including other trans men, talk about phalloplasty? where people who want or have had phalloplasty can see it? there was a long winded rant on reddit on the "detrans" sub titled "phalloplasty is an abomination," with just loads of hateful rhetoric inside. and thats just OUTSIDE of trans online forums. theres people who are in transmasc/trans man spaces, INCLUDING OTHEE TRANS MEN, who are out here demonizing phalloplasty because they "dont like the aesthetics," "its not advanced," "its experimental," and if you ask them about it it just boils down to that it doesnt behave or look like a cis penis when it can and does (and no, im not counting that phallo dicks may need external or internal erectile devices, cis men get those too and it still gets hard from that. phallo dicks look and act like cis penises). have you seen how people talk to trans men who HAVE HAD phallo? go into the comments section of a creator who has had phalloplasty. "youve mutilated yourself for a flesh tube that can only piss" and "it will never be a real penis." someone personally told my wife "why would you be with a fake man with a fake dick?? at that point go date a real man!!" when she said in the comments section of a video of a trans man who had phallo that shes super excited for me to have it done. beyond that, as a trans man seeking phalloplasty, and specifically phalloplasty with vaginectomy (its more accepted by the wider community if you keep your vagina, but im getting rid of mine) with burial with the idea of just having a cis passing penis, ive definitely had to worry if id be welcome in trans spaces anymore after my surgery, or if id be accepted at all, and not just tolerated, because so many trans people fucking hate phalloplasty so much and you just cant help but worry, especially when youve already been made to feel unwelcome for not feminizing yourself for other peoples comfort as a trans man. all this and phallo cocks are desexualized, people dont want to view them as genitals, they just see trans men with phalloplasty as something not trans, not cis, not a man or a woman, but a failure to conform to femininity, a waste of a woman and a waste of a trans man, as something completely inhuman

The fearmongering around medical transition for transmascs will never not be upsetting to me.
āyouāre gonna look ugly as a manā ābut youāre such a pretty girl, donāt change thatā Wrong. You will look different after T, but you will look happy. You will probably grow hair and gain weight and look pretty different, and none of that is bad or makes you less desirable. You are going to look like you and thatās all that matters.
āT makes you angryā āyouāre gonna be a scary man i wonāt feel safe around youā Wrong. Testosterone does not āmakeā you angry. Messing with your hormones will mess with your emotions for sure, but you will not immediately become some scary predator when you start T. Being a man/masculine does not make you a threat, a predator, or inherently angry. Thatās radfem shit.
ābottom growth is grossā āno one will want you with bottom growthā Wrong. Bottom growth is cool and a LOT of guys end up loving theirs a lot more than they thought they would. For a lot of people it is a desirable trait, there are people who find bottom growth hot and attractive. And! If youāre sure you donāt want it thereās things you can do to work around that, just talk to your provider.
ābottom surgery is super painful and not worth itā First off, call it phalloplasty, because thatās what youāre talking about. Second, yes itās painful, itās surgery. There are risks to it and complications can happen, but thatās true of any surgery. Phallo might not be for you, but it is life saving care for other folks. It is beautiful and should be talked about as life saving care and not as some afterthought thing that no one actually does.
Being transmasculine is a beautiful thing. Transitioning medically is not something every trans person wants, but if you notice yourself holding back for the reasons iāve listed above (or similar) maybe reconsider.

It is genuinely fascinating how many feminist cis women, including those who are on paper openly supportive of trans people, struggle to actually think about trans men as a concept.
A few months ago I ended up having a very long talk with a friend of a friend. She told me that she'd never really spoken to a trans man before, the only trans people she knew were trans women. There was a point, after the third time I reminded her that I was a man, that she just sorta of slotted me into her mental box of "man", and I could tell that happened because after that point she started trying to explain things to me as if I was a cis man.
I categorically do not "pass" and likely never will. I'm very short, my hips are prominent because I'm fat, I keep my hair long, charitably I could be said to have a baby face, I have D-cups and cannot bind due to spinal problems. To the majority of cis people I do not "look like a man".
But for the rest of the conversation I had with this friend of a friend I had to keep reminding her of how other people are going to view me, because there was no room in her mental idea of "man" for a man who is not treated as one. This was not malicious on her part, she was very nice to me, and I believe her when she says she wants to support trans people. I do not think she was lying when she told me how horrified she was to learn about how her trans woman friends were treated.
She said she was envious of me going out alone and how I need to understand that's a facet of male privilege and I asked her to look at me and explain why I'd be any safer. She was shocked to learn that I've been catcalled, been assaulted, that I regularly get spoken down to by cis men, shocked to learn I don't have a single transmasc friend who hasn't. She couldn't understand that I'm going to be treated the same by misogynists as any fat cis woman who doesn't wear makeup. There was no room in her feminism for trans men, because there was no room in her understanding of gender for men who are not cis.
We ended up talking about politics. She told me she was terrified of abortion being banned, and that this would never be a threat if men could get pregnant.

a historical transman:"despite being born as a woman, i changed my name since my youth, dressed as a man of my time, refered to myself with he/him pronounce and would literally fight anyone who ever dared to question my manhood with violence and all that i did through most of my life which lasted for decades until my very last breath. also please dont inspect my corpse. thanks."
some "feminists": omg what a girlboss!!š«¢š¤ she was such an icon for going through all of that just to achieve success in male dominated jobs!!š what a shame she was forced to pretend to be a guy thoš„ŗš but dont worry queen!!š we will make sure to write you in as one of the greatest women in history!!š we got you bestie!!! šš«¶

trans men experience this funny kind of discrimination where we get excluded from manhood (by both way too many queer people with their "GRRR I HATE MEN MEN ARE GROSS SCUM MEN ARE DISGUSTING- huh? why are you offended?? OBVIOUSLY i wasn't talking about y'all TRANS men, ugh theyfabs as always šš" and by cis people with their millions of different ways to be transphobic starting with "omg i love trans BOYYYSSS they're such little petite babies literally mpreg c*ntboy cavetown irl just like my favorite fanfic so adooorbsss" and not even ending with "umm have you heard she wants to cut off her tits. im so sick of little girls mutilating their gorgeous wonderful female bodies to be disgusting hairy rapists ugh")...... but then when we try to bring that up they immediately weaponize our own manhood against us and claim that we're ACTUALLY incredibly spoiled and privileged (because obviouslyyyy the cispatriarchy respects our gender identities no matter the point in transition and immediately grants us the same treatment as masculine cisgender men) and are basically just misogynist trad men for even trying to get a little intersectional????like ok thanks i don't think i will be talking to you tumblr user mpregjokesdaily with "proud misandrist" in bio and a "transandrophobia truthers DNI" banner under every post
