One trope that I absolutely love on MalleSil fanfics (and I wish it happened more often) is when, out of all people, Malleus gets jealous of Lilia. Because how couldn't he? Silver loves Lilia. Silver dedicated his life to paying him back for raising him despite everything that he knew about humans. Sure, Silver is devoted to Malleus and promised to pay him back as well, even became his knight for that sole purpose.

But Lilia comes in first place in Silver's heart. He even gives Lilia that damn acorn bracelet so Lilia can live even longer than he already has, Silver smiles at Lilia often when talking to him, that sweet smile that is reserved for his father only. Because around Malleus, Silver is polite, closed off, his knight only.

Sometimes, an unreasonable part of Malleus wishes he could shield Silver from everyone, even Lilia, no, especially Lilia. Replace whatever paternal love Silver has for his adoptive father to loving Malleus instead.

Sadly enough. That's impossible, and Malleus knows that he's being childish. Their relationship is beautiful enough that Lilia wanted to go far away so Silver wouldn't spend the rest of his fleeting life taking care of his old fae father. That's admirable. He thinks.

I have been reading MalleSil fanfiction on Pixiv lately and noticed that a lot of the japanese shippers love to explore the theme of Silver never thinking he's worth being in a serious relationship with Malleus. He simply sees himself as a plaything, a hobby, something that Malleus will eventually tire out as time goes by because Silver is a human.

I have become absolutely wrecked by this. Because it is so in character for Silver.

I use Google Translate to read the fics (as I don't understand japanese, lol), and if you have been craving for mallesil fanfiction pixiv has plenty of them (some being real books you can by, I assume you can buy online as well?) That even with the somehow not so good automatic translation I would recommend you to read.

Here is one that I love (beware for a lot of dubcon and noncon! That's present in most of the fanfics in the tag ):

MalSils' relationship is the one which brings me to these fairytale-style thoughts and images. It's only natural, but I can't comprehend how poetic they are, it's just... so damn aesthetically pleasing.
