you tried to change didn’t you? you tried to change for him, thinking if you changed he’d love you a little more or maybe he’d become more soft. maybe he’d stop bruising your soul with words that cut way deeper than anything else and maybe he’d change after the first 10 times he promised he would. but he never did. so maybe if you just changed yourself first? you would straighten your hair because he liked it and he made you stop wearing lipstick because it would get everywhere. you can’t change human beings, they never change, they are who they are you can’t work on them, they won’t become everything you want them to be. once a liar always a liar and once a cheat always a cheat. stop thinking if you spend more time on them, tolerating everything they do that sickens your mind and aches your soul that maybe with time they’ll change… they won’t humans don’t change and especially not for other humans.

things will remind you of him, like the restaurant you two used to go to or your song will play on the radio and all the memories you both shared will find themselves crawling back into your veins and into your ribcage and sometimes it will find its way into your mind and you will become blinded to everything else around you. but please remember that every ending is a brand new beginning it may take a month or it may take 5 years but one day that song wont make you clench your teeth while its playing and you will be able to eat at that restaurant and sit there without even remembering the touch of his body next to you and you wont be able to remember what it was like to be there with him. he will become a distant memory and as time passes the memories will fade and be replaced by the new guy who you share way more with than just a restaurant and a song but you share a life with him and he makes you a better you and he makes sure you never fall asleep crying and its not shut the fuck up but rather i love you so fucking much.
