“Cassie?” Gabriel raised his eyebrows, “He did this?” Gabriel’s eyes went red for a moment before he composed himself, “What happened, do you feel like talking about it?” Gabriel helped Ozzie up onto the table before taking over the rolling stool, “You know, as his older brother I can kick his ass for any reason and it be justified, you say the world and he’s pulp.”
Looking at the leg, Gabriel took a long slow breath, “That name again. Hannibal. It’s becoming this bunker’s Voldermort.” Gabriel reached out and gently and professionally, ran his hand down Oswald’s injured leg feeling it.
“Bad news Oswaldo, it will have to be reset which means breaking it. Good news is, there appears to be enough meds here that I can knock you out for it so you won’t feel a thing.” Gabriel stood up and looked at the Omega, “If you would like to have a friend here with you while you’re out, I would totally understand. Regardless if you do or not, until you would wake up I would stay here monitoring you. So you wouldn’t be left alone. If you don’t want to be knocked out, I’d give you some pain medication before rebreaking it to try to help, but I can’t guarentee it will stop all of the pain.” Gabriel gave a half hearted smile. “Sorry buddy. But thems the breaks.”
Sitting back down, Gabriel rolled a bit back, to give Oswald some air.
Oswald listened carefully as the alpha offered to get Cas back for him, but there was really no need. He liked his boss, and it had been his idea. But he cringed at the sound of Hannibal’s name. Something he had said, but he didn’t like it when other’s said it.
As Gabe explained how it was going to work, his mind shot to Sherlock, and then guiltily he thought of Ketch. This would be good. As Sherlock had said it would help the pain in the long run but it would also make him stronger again. It would help him with Ketch. Help to prove he was an equal. He swallowed and listened to the end when he was asked if he had any questions.
“No. I think I understand.” The idea of being knocked out didn’t please him but he didn’t want the pain either. That was the dilemma so he stalled. “But you don’t have to hurt Cas, sir. He’s my boss and he was grieving. I...helped to alleviate some of that. I hope.” His face dropped as well as his head as the words replayed in his head. They were things he’d heard all his life, but never from someone he had trusted. Perhaps the alpha instinct was too strong to resist. “He didn’t hurt me on purpose. It was just his instincts. I mouthed off. Same with Hannibal.” He gave a small smile though his posture was still slouched to make himself as small as possible. “I would like to be awake but I would also like not to feel the pain. The only issue is I don’t have any friends who aren’t busy at the moment.” He looked over the other. “You can knock me out. Anything that happens I won’t remember so it can’t matter.” He lied in his reasoning.
