"Wonderful we have a deal then", he smiled with a small nod. If he were going to be stranded on a strange alien planet for the time being it was, in his opinion, best to learn all he could about his surroundings and take in everything he could about his temporary home. What better way to do this then with a new friend he’d made.
"I’ll just go with your crew to bring back my transport and collect a few bits to tide me over at your place. I can’t thank you enough Susan really I can’t. I hope you don’t tire of me to quickly", he laughed softly smiling at her shyly.
"We do indeed." Susan's smile began to curl a little at the edges as she nodded at him. All in all she was delighted for the company, and in such a short time she had become quite fond of Flynn to the point where his company made her very grateful. She was rather lacking in friends, and was pleased to make such a delightful new one as him.
"Really, there's no need to thank me. It's an honor to have you stay, and I'm rather afraid that it will probably be you tiring of me!" Her laugh covered the fact that she really was afraid of that fact.
Waking Up In Vegas || Flynn and Susan
He woke up with a strange taste in his mouth wincing he sat up slowly his head pounding. What exactly had happened last night? He remembered wanting to go to the city of Vegas as he’d seen so many adverts for it. Naturally he’d asked Susan if she’d accompany him as he’d grown rather fond of being around her. Of course she’d been quite kind with him and had no problems in humoring him with his request to see the “City of Sin" and had found it quite humorous when they had arrived that in fact the city was not full of sinning heathens as he’d imagined.
They had booked a room at the rather illustrious Venetian hotel. The few days they had booked there were fun filled as he learned about the various ways one entertained them self while there. Gambling, dancing, shows he had wanted to do it all. What he had not been prepared for was the copious amounts of free beverages handed out to him while he’d tried his hand at the various slot machines or card tables around, nor had he realized the effects the drinks would have on his physiology. This of course had led to one very good night with his female companion and one spur of the moment decision.
He ran his hands through his hair and over his face as he sat there on the bed and stiffened slightly as he heard a soft sigh of air. He glanced over at what appeared to be Susan’s sleeping form under the sheets and caught the briefest gleam of something shiny on her finger. He looked over at his own hand and stared at the matching gold band around his own finger.
"Oh, no. No, no, no. Ohhh what have we done", he murmured softly. He quickly got up and walked over to the small nightstand in the corner of the room and picked up a manila envelope. Opening it he pulled out some papers and slowly read over them.State of Nevada Certificate of Marriage.
"Oh no," he frowned softly. How exactly had this happened? Well he knew how, but how could he have let this happen? He looked over at her sleeping form in the bed and sighed quietly. "Alright think, think, how do I fix this?", he mumbled to himself. Quickly he went back over to the bed and picked up his trousers, putting them on, and grabbed the mobile phone he’d acquired back in New York. Picking up the room key he pause for a second to look down at his companion and very softly brushed back her hair, then quietly made his way out of the room careful not to wake her.
Dialing one of the numbers he’d had on there he called one of the techs in UNIT that he’d befriended. “Hey, hmm sorry yes I’m so sorry for waking you I realize it’s still very early for you but I’ve run into a little snag out here. Hmm, no now we’re alright quite alright really its just," he trailed off, “I need you to look up protocol for dissolving well a marriage." The sound of subtle laughter was heard on the other end as his friend went to work to look about how to help Flynn. “What do you mean there is no way to dissolve it? What, well of course I could tell Susan! I, well I just would rather I fix this on my own I’ve already been to much of a hassle for her I don’t want to run the poor girl mad. Thank you though. Yes I will pass that along to her. Thank you Thomas," he hung up and sighed leaning back against the wall.
This was the most oddest problem he’d gotten himself into and by goodness he would fix this. He would fix this and fix it properly for his friend. He smiled sadly at the thought. Marriage, he’d always seen himself as the non-romantic type but at the same time this could be good for him. His only fear was hurting his dear friend or realizing the thought of her being devastated at their new status.
"Well here goes nothing", he said to himself as he took a breath steeling himself from his nerves and returned to the room placing a gentle hand on her shoulder calling her name to wake her.
Susan had had no quarrels with accompanying Flynn to the 'Sin City' as he had ever so excitedly called it, and had done quite well to hide that it was in fact her first trip to the city, despite her parents' rave tales of past excursions before she was born. Vegas had always been one of her dream destinations, lost amongst far-flung dreams of Florence and Paris and Cairo, quite simply because she had never found the time nor the company to go. So to be asked by Flynn, a person she had not only grown quite fond of, but was sure, if her assumptions did not fail her, was fond of her too, if she would accompany him to the city was more of a blessing than she could have expected. She had accepted quite eagerly and, though she tried to keep it hidden, was perhaps a little more excited than she should have been.
Guiding Flynn around the city as she guided herself, Susan discovered just how real her anticipations had been. The place was alive, quite as wonderful as the stories had told, and the two had spent a number of quite wonderful days getting to know the city and, as the world would have it, getting to know each other, too. Susan realized that, despite knowing Flynn for a good few weeks, she had known very little about him, and it had taken a weekend away for all the stories to swap. Taking drink after drink they were offered, whilst playing on the machines, or gathering around poker tables, or laying cards across the table, she had begun to take a mental note of everything Flynn told her about himself, and in return told him everything there was to say about her. And with each tale they told and each drink they drank, Susan grew more and more fond of him. Perhaps, as the time progressed, she grew a little too fond of him. But that wasn't something she could help.
And then they did it; without realizing it, in the nicest outfits they could find and giggling like two children, they had said the words they couldn't quite understand to a person they didn't know at all, and it had been as simple as that. And Susan had been happy, so incredibly happy, though she didn't understand, though she was completely washed away by the ridiculous amount of glasses she had drunk, she had been so happy, just there, with Flynn, married, and then in the height of her ecstasy and delight... she had fallen asleep. Or perhaps, to put it a better way, passed out.
It wasn't until she felt a gentle arm shake her shoulder and a soft familiar voice that she woke, forgetting about the ring on her finger for a moment, which seemed oddly trivial to her compared to the painful drilling feeling inside her head and the alarming inability to open her eyes to the morning sun. But despite this, realizing the owner of the mild, well-known voice, she looked up and gave him an oversized, gleeful smile. “Flynn.” She uttered fondly, turning her head to him. “Morning.”
"Beans and toast you say? Well that sounds exotic and I for one am very , very much interested in trying this dish out.",he licked his lips while fiddling with the device. "Ah yes arton detection that would be simplest since this darn thing seems to be on the fritz", he sighed. Flynn never liked being stranded in strange places but all things considering he was quite happy he had met this woman she was kind to him. Not many were very kind to him, they usually treated him as a child. Well techinally all things considering he was still in some aspect a child by Gallifreyan standards. "I wouldn't want to put you out really Susan you have been so very, very kind to me. I don't wish to be a burden. Perhaps in exchange for the luxurious meal of beans and toast and a night or two of lodging I could offer myself for a bit of work? You know being an alien and all I'm sure what little advice I could give out would help your organization?"
"Well, it's not exactly gourmet, and most people would be quite disappointed, but I suppose if there was an planetary dish beans on toast would be it. So you can give it a try. You're in no danger of being a burden. I'm quite pleased of the company." She smiled, quite contented. This wasn't a lie. She was quite happy to be of some help, particularly to someone as grateful as Flynn seemed, and the company was something she was quite pleased to attain. "And that would be quite wonderful. I would be very grateful for that, as I'm sure we all would." And then, with an almost smug smile. "You have yourself a deal, Flynn."

Aria poked her head cautiously out of the TARDIS doors. She’d felt like something was slightly off or different about where she’d landed, but she couldn’t quite pinpoint it. All the scans had read normal and it all seemed to be fine. Not seeing anything blatantly wrong, she stepped out of the TARDIS and let out a yelp. “Oh! Sorry! I was really distracted! Are you all right?"
Susan stood facing the girl, her hands clasped to her mouth in confusion as she studied both her and the TARDIS carefully. "Oh, don't apologize. I'm... fine. Don't worry." She told her, taking her hands from her mouth with a small smile, not taking her gaze away from the girl and the ship. "Sorry, this all seems so familiar. The police box. it's called the TARDIS, yes? And are you Vicki? Or am I mistaken? Sorry, I'm probably terribly outdated, I just..." She shook her head. "Never mind. Don't worry. Sorry."
The Doctor couldn’t help but chuckle at that, so many people seemed to have trouble comprehending that this regeneration was in fact the Doctor. Maybe it was the boyish face, or youthful facade? “Well, that’s because I am- younger I mean." He sighed. “It’s all rather complicated and a little wibbly wobby but ah, I can change my face and well …entire body."
"Right." She stood studying his face for a moment, breaking out into a smile as she noted every small detail. She noted this time that his eyes looked so much older than the rest of him, which was instead a youthful boyish facade, very different to the grumpy old man of her parent's stories. "They didn't tell me that." She said with a chuckle, folding her arms. "I'm... not sure they knew."
Season One: A Brief Summary
First Doctor: Quiet Chatterton
Susan: GRANDFATHER THINGS ARE HAPPENING
Ian: Dammit Doctor
Barbara: Ok whatever you do your thing I'll just save the day myself
"Oh, no, not slipping. I’m not from around here."
"I’m the Doctor! UNIT, really? Just passing through, I’m afraid, don’t need help. Well, I probably need help with something, but I can’t think of what it could be."
"Oh, well that's good then, I suppose!"
"The Doctor... wow. Well. It's a... pleasure to meet you, Doctor. A real pleasure. And of course, anything you need, we can help, yes. Definitely."
"Yep, the Doctor."
"Susan, eh? Funny, my granddaughter has the same name. Anyway, nice to meet you too."
"H-how wonderful!"
"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Doctor. Really. The greatest."
"Oh, I’m not really around here much," Sarah told the woman in front of her, “Sarah Jane Smith," She introduced herself with a smile, “Pleasure to meet you, Miss Chesterton." She thought the last name sounded somewhat familiar. A name she had heard in passing, or that someone had mentioned to her.. Perhaps the Doctor had mentioned someone with that name..
"Sarah Jane Smith! Of course!" Susan remembered hearing wonderful stories of the woman back when she was working for UNIT in London. She should have recognized her! "The pleasure's all mine, Miss Smith, really. And please, call me Susan." She told her with a smile, offering her hand. "It's so very wonderful to meet you!"
OOC:
I probably shouldn't admit to this while playing his daughter, but I have always and will always find Ian Chesterton really, really attractive. Plus, I think him and Barbara are on level pegging with Amy and Rory for the most adorable couple on Doctor Who ever.
"Yes, your father was one of the bravest men I've ever met. And your mother was one of the cleverest...and the kindest. They both...well...they both truly changed my life..."
Susan smiled gently for a moment, the fondness showing in her eyes. "That's such a beautiful thing to say about them. They'll be thrilled to hear that. If I tell them. Would you mind me telling them? Only you certainly changed their's too, and they're so grateful, though they say that they worry that they didn't show it when they knew you."
"They were described as spinning lights, actually. They said the lights spun around in the sky before disappearing. Soldiers were up here the night this happened, but no one was in this area and no one saw anything happening." Martha sighed, looking over at the charred area. “It just seems a bit hard to believe that the two are connected, but it’s the only ideas we have now."
"Right." Susan nodded in understanding, taking a last look at the burnt area before taking a step back with a sigh. "I think it's highly plausible to predict that they were connected. After all, there are very few coincidences. I'm assuming there were no recordings, no photographs? Never mind, we shall rely on descriptions. I expect that if they were quite simply lights, their particular appearance won't help us much anyway. Were they any particular colour at all?"
"Excellent thank you very much!" he smiled as he dug in his pocket and retrieved a small hand held device messing about with the touch screen. "I believe I have landed somewhere in a park and currently disguised as a small gardening shed against a fence". Hopefully the damage to her wasn't that bad who ever had attacked him obviously had given up suit as soon as he'd downed. Now all he needed to do was locate proper lodging and perhaps somewhere to find nourishment and relax for the time being.
"Tell me would you happen to know where I could possibly find lodging or food then? Or do those require currency?" Currency he'd hadn't thought of that perhaps this planet used a bartering system like so many others he'd visited.
"It's a pleasure." Susan told him almost matter-of-factly, crossing her legs and leaning forward in interest at his device. "A park. Right. I would assume that is Central Park, taking into account the proximity. Of course, we can always track the artron energy levels. It's easy enough." She shrugged with a small smile. She was rather pleased that he had allowed them to even take a look, after all they had been so unused in the past few weeks that the boys were starting to get a bit restless, she wasn't sure how much more they, and she, could take. And besides, she was rather grateful to be able to help someone who had actually been nice to her for a change.
"Well, this is New York, things are rather expensive. But I can lend you money, should you need it, but I'd be happy to offer anything you need, if you'd like." She told him with a chuckle, biting her lip. "I can't promise you that I can give you anything better than beans on toast and the spare room back at my flat, though."
OOC:
I think I've found Susan again! Yay! I have a bunch of replies in my drafts, so I shall go reply to them. At the moment I need some RP to relax - it's my first solo charity concert tomorrow night, and I am TERRIFIED, so if anyone wants to make me feel better about that, much appreciated! ;)
