being here and seeing all of this, it reminded the man of when he lost his own parents. he did not know her that much to be connected to her but it was still tragic. "I'm not confident in them figuring out who did it," Derrick admits with a slight frown. he could only continue drinking from his cup as he turned to the other. "sorry to sound a bit morbid just kind of sad i guess."
āļ¾*Ā·ļ¾LOSS WAS PART of Mack's life being a vet. He saw it every day, as much as he wished he didn't. But people, that was a whole different thing. They were the ones who took care of the adorable animals. Finding himself stand next to Derrick, Mack shrugged his shoulders. "Dude, I'm not either. Doesn't seem like they have any clue. And I've known most of these people my whole life. Don't think any of them could've don this." He shook his head, looking out at everyone, especially the ones grieving harder than he was. It really was sad. No one deserved to die, no matter how much you knew them. "No, no, I get it. It's a fact, and that's alright."
for: anyone! (cap 3ish! 2/3) @fairytalefmstarters where: outskirts of kingdom bluffs posted up against his '70 dodge charger
It was late by the time Jake rolled up to the bluffs, hot off some last-minute MC shit that had gone longerārougherāthan expected. His adrenaline still lingered. His knuckles were still split, and the dried blood that wasn't his was still catching beneath the glow of the fire light in the distance. He snagged a beer from the six-pack he'd brought and kicked a boot up to the tire of his car, leaning back against the fender as he took a long, slow pull.
"Wasn't gunna fuckin' miss it," Jake muttered, his eyes fixed over the cliff. He lifted the bottle slightly, then shrugged once, offering them nothing else. "Shit just took longer than it shoulda."
āļ¾*Ā·ļ¾IT WAS LIKELY best to stay further away from the others, allowing herself to grieve and process the way she wanted to do so. Juhi was grieving, even if she didn't know Gabby specifically. It was still a loss of someone in the town and that was enough to hurt in a way that she didn't realize. Noticing Jake rested up against his car, she headed straight toward him, hoping that he'd at least appreciat her attitude toward it. Perhaps he might be one of the best, one that wouldn't necessarily expect her to be all emotional about the death.
"Glad you didn't. You got any beers to share?" she asked, leaning up against the car next to him. Juhi's eyes drifted over to the crowd of people, her body relaxing up against the car. "How you doin' with all of this?"

"I'm sure the township thought this was a good idea." Riley paused as she shook her head. Gabby was her best friend, her ride or die. She gripped her white cane a little tighter. "She deserved more than this. Whoever did this to her... they need to catch them." She let out an exhale as she took a step away from the fire.
āļ¾*Ā·ļ¾JUHI HADN'T REALLY wanted to come to the funeral. She wasn't very good at feelings, but now, seeing all of these brokenhearted people, maybe it was alright to have a little bit of emotion. Turning to face her, Juhi bit the inside of her lip. "Did you know her well?" she asked, wanting to know more about the situation. "She came into the bakery for pastries every now and then with a smile, but that's all I knew of her." Maybe if she tried a little bit harder to make friends, life wouldn't be so difficult or so focused on her career. She needed a little more excitement.

For: @thatwildlife Where: Kingdom Bluffs, the Memorial
Vik is perched along the back of a bench, dress shoes planted where normal people are meant to sit, going over club figures on the phone in Mack's hands. "We've gotta make sense of why weāve spent four hundred dollars on cable ties or who put that line in the spreadsheet, and we have to lie beautifully," he tries to type on the screen, but Lemon noses his palm to lick it.
Vik folds immediately, leaning down to take his face between both hands and melting into the most embarrassing dog-speak known to man. "Oh did you do it? Did you need some cable ties?" He pulls away, pleading to Mack. "Take him away, I need to preserve some dignity."
āļ¾*Ā·ļ¾MACK ISN'T SITTING any better, back up against the arm rest and his legs sprawled out along the seat, resting under Vik's. His eyes moved between one of his best human friends and one of his best fur friends, trying his best not to laugh. "Hold on, I keep notes with me. I wonder if I could make up some weird excuse that we've got a cable management problem or are really crafty. What were that many used for anyway?." Reching into his bag, he pulled out a beautifully bound moleskin notebook out his bag on the floor and began flipping through it. He was immediately distracted by the beautiful golden retriever puppy that was sitting in between his own legs, Lemon. Lemon was still being trained and required more attention with skills than his regular dogs. So he was spending quite a bit of time with Mack. "What you think, Lemon? You running a secret underground business?" Mack asked, scratching behind the puppy's ears before picking him up and kissing his head. The dog happily snuggled onto his father's lap. "He's a big strong boy, what are you talking about?"

"That was just so touching. What a speech." Alana said, looking over at the person next to her. She wished she could roll her eyes. Everyone being here in the same place, acting like they cared about some random girl, pissed her off. Sure, she was a nice girl, but the fakeness everywhere was astounding. "Anyway, you got something a little harder to drink?"
āļ¾*Ā·ļ¾MACK COULDN'T HELP the chuckle that left his lips. While he'd known Gabby and her dogs, he didn't really know her on a personal level and felt no need to make a speech. While he would miss seeing the dogs, he knew they'd wind up going to a good home. "I've heard too many today. It's making me sleepy." Tilting his head to the side, Mack smirked, reaching for a flask from his pocket. He unscrewed it and held it over to her. "Don't expect this all the time. I'm just not good with funerals, thought this would help. It's strong though, you mind need a mixer."
" do i look like someone who carries around something as vile and unlawful as drugs on me? i'm shocked and quite frankly appalled. " he quips knowing well there's plenty on him. recreational was prohibited? drugs were prohibited? it was just seen as as a monetary opportunity in the midst of being there for the memorial. there was no harm in that. " a blunt does sound bloody good right now i'll give you that. "
