Yeah. I am. And I’m sorry. But not everyone can be happy and positive and bubble butterflies all the time Lucy. Not everyone can skip through the halls believing 100% that everything is going to be okay, because I see every day that it’s not. I can’t just tell you and Lily and Hugo and James that everything is gonna be just fine just because you guys wanna believe that will be, because what if it isn’t? Then you’re devastated. Then you spent all that time thinking everything was a fairy tale and a-o-fucking-kay only to have it ripped out from under you in the worst way possible.

And I’m not letting any of you deal with that alone. So I’m gonna keep telling you the truth. And you can say it’s because I’m mean or I’m negative or I’m pessimistic, but … it’s because it’s the truth.

And I’ve seen what ignoring the truth and the reality of life can do to people.
