As someone who's over 20 and writes them, I don't really care too much about the colors, idk where the hell people got that 2p England is pink, I don't know why they made 2p Romano blonde. It's kind of hard enough as part of a 'niche' part of the fandom to even get any traction in these spaces (it took me 6 months to get a single request) and of course what's 'popular' is usually not going to be very good, probably because it's been here for the longest time.

This part fandom would be a lot more active if there wasn't like only 6 people writing the same fucking list of characters.
