Blake laughed when the other said that„ sitting next to his brother. “What human pissed you off?” He asked curiously.
"All of them," Tristan grunted and leaned into his brother. "The latest was this guy who thought he was hot shit because he was in the military. I kicked his ass, but he's still a fuck."
"They don’t, but you can manipulate them. Once you get a human in the palm of your hand, it’s all uphill from there.” The fox shook his head, crossing his arms. He wasn’t much of a drinker. "Don’t get drunk, don’t wanna hafta carry you back home.”
"Heh, around all these humans?" Tristan asked. "I won't get drunk. Can't afford to let my guard down that much."
He looked up at the fox and smiled wryly. "Before I got here, I didn't care one way or the other about foxes. But you sound smarter than I gave you guys credit for."
The alpha set his beer down,t hen patted the spot beside him. "Wanna sit?" he asked. "You're right, you know. We can control them. But it still pisses me off that we all get treated like less than them. We're better. We shouldn't be their slaves."
"I’m a fox, I like the outdoors. Why don’t you get as much freedom? You risk your life.”
Tristan snorted. "I'm a guard but I'm still a wolf. So I get treated like one. The humans don't give a shit about our lives, guards or not."
He sipped his beer and offered a bottle to the fox. "Wanna join me?"
"You’re a guard, you have freedom. What are you doing out here?”
"Not as much freedom as you'd think."
Trustan shrugged.
"I wanted to get away. It's nicer here than in the pound."
"What are you doing here?"
"… Alright, you caught me, I’m out of my cell past hours. You gonna tell on me?”
"No," Tristan retorted. "As long as you don't tell anyone you saw me."
"Sorry, I’ve been sick the last few days." Blake said as he smiled at his brother. "Didn’t you get the letter I sent?" He asked curiously.
"No." Tristan plopped down on the bench and patted the spot beside him. "Sorry. I've been pissed off and tired of dealing with humans' shit. C'mere."
"Blake, where have you been?"
