However, there's no detectable malice in his offer, he simply waves a hoof at his cottage. It's... homely. Clearly created with love and having passed the test of time. It's also out of the way of all three pony settlements. //

She saved me when I was a filly and I owe her everything for that. ❝ Thinking for a brief minute on the what if she left everything behind her all for the promise of a loving home. Misty would stomp her hoof burying down any and all thoughts of that before turning to the other pony.

His voice is a bit of a whisper in response to Misty’s statement. He would hardly demand she go somewhere she’d never been before, and leave those she cared for behind. Not when she had ponies who cared supposedly for her.

Though, her next statements make his stride slow, expression growing puzzled. He didn’t exactly know who Opaline was, after all. The era where he’d been gone had, supposedly, also been when Queen Opaline had done... Well, all of that. Probably for the best he only knew of the mare through Misty’s words, then.

“Misty, I’ll be honest with you, I don’t even know who Opaline is, beside what you’ve told me. I could hardly hope to stop her from doing anything.”

local man in gen 5 era. he’s turning white after untold centuries.... and his cutiemark is gone!! His divination is now untrustworthy, given he’s so far past when he should have died that his ability to see the future has fractured into nothing more than infinite possibilities. he can narrow them down to a few by asking questions to eliminate certain possibilities. Did you have oats for breakfast, or eggs?

His grip on magic is tenuous while magic is removed from Equestria, but given he’s from an era where magic was already sparse, he was built to function on these kinds of conditions. Typically, he would only use magic sparingly

Because his curse was a core part of him, even the lack of magic did not snap this effect.

He’s got mourn’s mane braided into his, a little symbolism for @ask-tay-relic <3

The curse on him that made him unable to age or die has been broken by SUNNY STARSCOUT and her friends restoring magic and friendship to ponykind, resuming his aging

There's several moments of silence.

The unicorn studies his fellow, pink eyes careful and suspicious. It's been... Certainly a while since he'd heard Twilight's name. But then again, he was certain he'd never heard of an Opaline, so it's about fair.

Finally, he snuffs a bit and allows his horn to wink out. The book he'd been holding in his magic lowers towards the floor before he catches it in his hoof. She seemed harmless enough. He could indulge this question.

"I'm older than Twilight, actually. But yes. I'm a mage."

He closes the book and slides it into his saddlebag, looking from the mares horn to her face finally. He'd never gotten around to asking why unicorns had developed those markings on their horns, had he? Breeze should ask some time. Pony morphology had gotten very interesting over the centuries.

Harmony clicks her mouth shut at Mourn's question, clearly now intensely thinking about an answer. "Well dads my brainwashed guard... But I'm kinda young.. So you could be a witch too! Witch coven!" She buzzes her wings and summons another witches hat, plunking it onto Mourn's head.

"I don't have a gown or anything, though."

Thankfully most ponies had darker set decorations for the evening, so he had no problem finding something that 'fit' the vibe.

The pony at the stall didn't seem to have a problem with his absconding with the tablecloth, but wether that was seeing the reason for the theft, or the per-usual scary expression that Mourn was known for, wasn't clear.

The click clack of familiar hooves reach Mourn's ears. That had to be Breeze. And a cursory glance confirms it is, the stallion has come to stop a few hooves away. He's got a little pamphlet in his magic. "I.. know this is late notice, Mourn. But, Harmony wanted to know if you would go out with us for Nightmare Night..." A small pause, knowing Mourn's likely answer. "It's alright if you don't want to, of course. You know she won't hold it against you."

There was no question or hesitation in his tone, as single-hued as it was with his usual deadened delivery. Still, by the most minor habits, it was easy to see the buried enthusiasm about accompanying them.

"I do not have a costume...Didn't think to pick one..." He leans down to the elated expression of Harmony. "What do you think I should be?"

The Explorer Trio Commission for @the-ancient-magus of their OC Harmony Blend with Monsoon Blossom and Storm Burst exploring a cave together ! I had so much fun with this, and it was nice to actually draw Storm Burst again after so long. I usually don’t because I worry I can’t since his dad always gives me a hard time, but this was a pleasant surprise. Thanks for commissioning me, friend !
