Just a short fanfic because everyone liked the Jaron-is-lazy-and-clingy headcanon
This was becoming a serious issue.
Not only did Jaron have a meeting in less than 15 minutes. But he was definitely not dressed for the occasion. Unless he wanted to show all the regents his scars, give Lady Orlaine a heart attack and have every other lady in Drylliad grasping for a piece of him, he would at least put on a shirt, then go to the meeting. But it was increasingly obvious that a meeting with the regents was far from his mind. Granted, I adored our arrangement - I would be reading and before I turned a page, Jaron would have pushed his way into my arms and latched onto me like a 4 legged starfish - it was time for him to wake up.
I removed the book from where I had propped it up on his shoulder and carded my fingers through his curls. âJaronâ I beckoned.
He grunted a protest, nuzzling further into the crevice of my neck.
âI know, love. But theyâre not going to start without you.â
âThey bloody have before, why not now?â
I chuckled, âYou want them to decide how much money they can demand from their tenants?â
He nodded, as if the matter was settled. The logical fraction of his brain, if one even existed, was always out of order whenever he was tired.
But this would go on forever if I didnât put a stop to it, so I tried again. âOpen your eyes, muffinâ.
âProbably because itâs the middle of the day, Jaron.â
He peaked up at me with one emerald eye and grinned, âSomeoneâs sassy today.â After a while, he relented. âIâll get up, but only for a price.â
I pecked his forehead, âIs that so?â
Jaron pushed himself up to hover over me, âA kiss.â
Jaron was late to the meeting that day.
