Yesterday, we said goodbye to Gigi, my grandmother. I never know what to say in times like these, but I will miss her dearly. Here are some sweet memories of her. Obituary of Stella A. Spagna By Samantha Spagna Leizer Stella A. Spagna, 92, of Lopatcong Township passed away peacefully on June 4, 2021 at the Lopatcong Care Center. Stella was born on June 23, 1928 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Michael and Christina "Sawka" Gluck. She grew up in Elizabeth and attended Elizabeth High School where she majored in Interior Design. When she left high school, she was hired by Timex for a "wartime" position. Stella was a lifetime New Jersey resident, living in Basking Ridge for many years before settling in Lopatcong Township. Stella was employed as an Account Executive for All-ways Advertising until retirement. Later in life she rejoined the workforce and was employed as a Legal Secretary and also worked for the Chamber of Commerce in Phillipsburg. Stella was a devout catholic and a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Alpha. Family was everything to Stella. She cherished time spent with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Stella loved cooking pasta for Sunday family dinner. Her famous, homemade "Pizza Gana" (Italian Easter Pie) was a family favorite. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Stella is survived by her children, a daughter, Lynda Spagna and her husband Ed Shalkowski, sons, Robert Spagna and his wife Cathy Petrucelli, David Spagna and his wife Victoria; a sister, Anne Adam; grandchildren, Adam Spagna, Jesse Huelbig, Riona Campbell, Samantha Leizer, Nickelle Spagna-Moore, Nicole Spagna, Isabella Spagna and 6 great grandchildren; Ruby, Luna, Greyson, Gemma, Riley, and Ian. In addition to her parents, Stella preceded in death by her husbands Robert Spagna and Robert Beisser and a sister Christine Burke. Services will be private. Entombment will be at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Stella's name to The Brain Tumor Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills Memorial Home.
