Beck sucked on Annabelle's lip before reluctantly pulling away. "Wait," she said, a bit out of breath. "Are you sure you want to do this here? I mean, I'm not one to turn away sex, but you were pretty against it a few days ago." She rubbed her thumb against the cheek that she was still cradling. "What with the whole...y'know. Thing."

That was too vague. Beck would stick to her guns, though. Something about directly mentioning one's dead ex-girlfriend seemed inappropriate for a post-makeout conversation.

Beck was surprised by how calm her voice sounded when inside, her mind was going a million miles a minute. Annabelle wanted to sleep with her. Annabelle wanted to sleep with her. Why couldn't she smooth about this like she was with other girls?

Beck steeled herself, then stepped closer towards Annabelle, well into her personal space. "Did you have any other questions?" she asked, lowering her voice, "or was that it?"

A beat passed, then Beck fully grasped what Annabelle had meant. "Work it off, huh? Is that an offer?" She laughed, knowing that the answer would be a resounding no. At this point, Beck was mainly just hitting on Annabelle to make her uncomfortable. It was quickly becoming her favorite hobby. Deep down, some small voice was protesting this notion that this flirtation was for anything more than a good laugh. Beck wished this voice would shut up.
